That’s exactly how I feel about it. Do people think big Centre forwards are just going to challenge THB & Wood in the air & not pull onto Manning & Jelert as they hit diagonals. It’s not like KWP or Cedric where their positives outweigh that negative & it’s worth noting that even Lego played 3 centre halves in the play off final with Manning on the bench. Bree will defo help & Fellows is good enough defensively to offer some cover. But Leo isn’t a Stewart Armstrong or Frazier from 2 years ago, we need him going the other way, not doubling up on a winger who keeps skinning Manning or Wellington one on one.

They’ve had their lunch eaten by the Boob whisperer & they’re about as radical as the WI. Of course it’s all the media’s fault, it’s all the BBC concentrating on Nige & poor Sir Edward isn’t given a look in. Paddy Ashdown, David Steel, hell even the old lush Kennedy would have imposed themselves on the country, (The Boobster has managed it from a standing start). But then again, they would be discussing issues and proposing solutions, not running around playing the back end of a pantomime horse thinking he’s the funniest thing since Boris Johnson.

The other problem is the lack of local accountability as we’re too centralised. MP’s end up dealing with issues that are basically down to councils. Poole have a labour MP, and to be fair to the guy he gets involved with lots of local issues. However, most of them could be fixed if voters had more faith in the local council actually doing their fucking job. People moan about MP’s but more local councillors and councils are rotten to the core. They don’t come under half the scrutiny they should do. It started with Maggie and subsequent leaders haven’t handed real power back locally. Councils don’t really get punished for incompetence because they can point the blame at central government. I bet half MP’s issues could be dealt with locally, freeing them up to be better MP’s. They spread their time too thinly at the moment.

It causes issues within his mps as well as the public. You can’t keep sending ministers out to defend unpopular polices which are then ditched. Who is going to want to go out and defend this jury trial stuff on the Sunday morning round, they’ll face continued questions as to whether they’ll U-turn, as well as looking stupid when youve defended it publicly and they then do a 180 shift . Loyal ministers won’t like being hung out to dry, Boris had the same problem when he started veering about abandoning stuff. Every U turn weakens you internally, and that’s before you factor in the public reaction.

Once you’ve opened the floodgates to VAR, there’s no turning back. If you’re using technology to determine factual decisions then you have to stick to it. You can’t say, well if it takes longer than 2 mins, then it’s onside, you’ll end up with an offside goal being allowed because one VAR took 2mins 1 sec to make a decision, whereas a similar goal is disallowed because a different var took 1min 59 secs. Iran could be such a great country if it wasn’t held back by the medieval lunatics that have ruined the country. The 30 years before they took over Iran the country was pretty westernised with chicks having the same rights as Western Europeans, they could wear what they wanted were highly educated with 60’s & 70’s culture mirroring ours. They were a friend to the west & didn’t have the blind hatred of Isreal the rest of the Middle East had. It could be a wealthy, open and secular nation which could dominate the area in a positive way.
