I thought I was past it when it came to heroes, but the man is a fucking hero to me. Summed up everything that was great about our charge to the top flight, and our first couple of seasons there. Incredibly enjoyable time and my lad was the perfect age to enjoy it. Like I bang on about Lawrie’s sides, he’ll be banging on about those years when he is an old bastard. Just a shame a couple had a bit of a poisonous departure, but hopefully time will heal that. Probably the nicest manager we’ve ever had, leading a great bunch of lads, playing football the right way. Top 10 is would be a decent season, 8th exceptional. Cup is more of a grey area being a bit of a lottery. Semi final could be considered successful, but if you get there and play like a drain it’s pretty fucking woeful. Under Hughes and Teflon we basically flushed our chances down the toilet.
