Decisions are made year in year out that result in innocent people dying and a trade off is made between the economy & deaths. If the speed limit was reduced to 10mph on every road, less people would die in road traffic accidents. I presume you’d be against that measure, if so you, must think the lives of those killed on the road are an acceptable sacrifice to keep the country moving. Im not saying it’s right or wrong to close schools as I don’t have enough data in front of me, but making out people who think they should remain open are callous or willing to sacrifice peoples lives, is way off the mark.

My mum could manage PSG to the title. Whats the bad luck he’s had that stopped him winning trophies?

This is the biggest misinterpretation people use when discussing VAR. Football does use “umpires call”, it’s the “clear & obvious “ guideline, which in effect is referees call. Like Cricket line decisions are judged solely by technology. No balls, run outs, stumpings aren’t “umpires call” and neither are offsides or goal line decisions. If a bloke is 00000.1mm out of his crease, he’s given run out, no matter how long the decision takes and it doesn’t make a blind bit of difference what the on field umpire thinks.

I always find it a bit strange that people think changing the rules will eliminate borderline offsides. If it’s your foot, they’ll still be occasions when your foot will be offside by a minuscule distance. Wherever you draw the line, whatever body part you use, they’ll always be tight distances. Even if you said being 1 meter offside should be considered onside (benefit of doubt with attacker) it won’t be too long before var are judging whether a bloke was 1 meter or 1 meter 000.1mm offside.

None of them speak as poorly as Clinton Morrison, how has the gibbering idiot got a job talking for a living, it’s like getting Stevie Wonder to comment on a painting competition.

Do you think the time is now right for a permanent reset of the exam system. I’ve never really understood why GCSE’s are still sat when kids have to stay in education till 18. I know they’re a measure of whether kids are capable of A levels, but does it need to be a full on exam? I’d imagine teachers are just as capable of weighing that up as a written exam. As an employer, GCSE’s are now a meaningless measure.

Fuck me, I reckon Mrs Hoddle will be wearing a Leeds top in bed tonight. Glen will get well excited.
-
That’s a bit ott, but they should know the basics. They should also listen to the referee in the studio, not act puzzled and say they’re confused.
-
Why have they got halfwits discussing the VAR decision today. Everyone knows that it’s not where the foul starts, if it continues onto the line it’s a pen (as the ex professional ref explained to them). They must be deliberately trying to create controversy, because it’s fucking obvious. Why do they never ever say “ok fair enough I didn’t know that”, it’s always “it’s so confusing” when they’re wrong. Planks.
-
Not on all decisions it’s not. And remember it’s not about the VAR’s opinion of the incident , but his opinion of whether it’s a “clear & obvious error”. A decision the VAR thinks “I probably would have given a penalty, but I can see why he didn’t “, should, if the guidelines are followed, go with the on field referee.

Talking about it on sky now. Andy Cole saying that if you move to another country you have to embrace that culture & not your own. Funny that, because quite rightly Caribbean & Indian immigrants assimilated into our society by the white brits adopting aspects of their culture. Had they taken the Andy Cole advice music & food would be totally different now. I don’t believe Andy Cole would say the same about a Muslim moving to this country, no chance . Both the black pundits said he’s not racist, so a 3 game ban seems rather excessive.

Yep. The only highlight is the blonde sort at half time.

Position that you would most want to improve in the starting XI

On his day Tadic was sublime, probably the best touch, & weight of pass, since Bally. Like Bally, he caressed the ball & played little angled passes perfectly weighted. But as i said, on his day. Unfortunately, his day didn’t come round as much as it should of done, and he was inconsistent and poor on too many days. At his best, he’d have had a field day in Ralph’s set up, at his worst he wouldn’t get a game. The Tadic discussion is relevant to this thread because that’s what we lack, whether it’s a traditional 10 or a Tadic or Lallana coming in from wide, we lack a bit of creativity in the final third. We’re ok when we win the ball back quickly, but when the opposition are set, lack a bit of guile in central positions. -
Ched Evans was the victim of a gross miscarriage of justice. I just hope Soggys new year resolution is to stfu about the case.

Fucking joker Crooks, how can he have 6 players from a team that was far and away the best of the year. -
A glass was raised at 11pm last night to toast the heroes who delivered us this historic moment. To Nigel, who got us a referendum. There’s no chance the ERG would have done so, they’d still be arguing about section 2, subsection B1 of X treaty. To Boris & Gove, who probably pushed the result over the line. To Gina Miller who ensured a meaningful vote. To The Spartans who refused to vote for BRINO. Particularly, the radiant Priti & Theresa V the only 2 current cabinet members that never once voted for Mays turd. To Bercow, Soubry, Grieve and others that also refused to vote for BRINO but also behaved in such a way to turn the people off the rotten Parliament, and made them want to drain the swamp. To Sugar tits Swinsson & Krankie who were so deluded they believed an election would stop Brexit. When the remainer parliament & remainer speaker had Boris locked up, they gave him the key to escape. To Sir Kier Starmer, whose disastrous Brexit policy probably gave Boris an extra 50 seats, ensuring a buffer against the remain element left in the party. The great thing about Brexit was the ones that wanted it least, the ones that tried to stop it, not only ended up defeated in humiliating fashion, but their actions also ensured it was something all but 2 of the ERG could vote for. Hereos all, I salute you......

Unbelievable to think he got Manchester United relegated & kept his job, but as you say, different times.

RIP As you say, very respectful after ‘76. Saw him doing a couple of after dinner things, was a pretty funny guy.

Seeing as he’s innocent I’d imagine you will.

Not for me. Not that I’m against private medical provision, I wish there was more, but the fallout would do my head in. Firstly, they’ll be a mate of Boris that’ll pay for it, or maybe Nige, followed by BBC & C4 interviewing a frontline nurse, yet to be vaccinated unlike Mr X. Then the Right will find an example of a leftie or wokie getting one, maybe Piers Morgan or Linekar. Then an MP will be outed. It’ll be unbearable. The only way money should talk is by paying someone to vaccinate people. I’ve no faith in the NHS doing this alone. Let’s pay Bupa or whoever by results, the more they vaccinate, the quicker they vaccinate, the more they earn. If they can vaccinate the most vulnerable by Feb they’ll deserve every frigging penny.

Even Bray has accepted he failed to “STOP BREXIT”. Not that it’s stopped him making a twat of himself around Westminster still.

And had we lost as a result I bet you’d be the first moaning.
