  1. Yep, got his Mojo back there. Excellent speech. Shame he doesn’t show the same vigour over Covid & get the country back working again.
  2. That boats sailed already, FFP has seen to that. Aided by the authorities the big clubs have already pulled up the drawbridge.
  3. What a load of old waffle & pony. It’s basically “we support animal welfare and are against animal cruelty by whitey”.
  4. Do you really think it’ll end up being just them? They’re not stupid, they can’t play each other over & over. They’ll be looking for other “franchise’s “ to suppliant them. First up, Everton. Are they going to turn it down, not with a new stadium & the owner they have. London’s big enough for another one, The dildo brothers, for all their big words, won’t turn it down. Midlands, needs a franchise, Villa. They’ll go all out for Rangers & Celtic, so a team from Cardiff makes sense. They can basically cherry pick the clubs they want & start afresh. It’ll be like the NFL. Liverpool City Utd Chelsea Arsenal Spurs Everton Villa Newcastle Leeds West Ham (or London Utd) Cardiff Rangers Celtic Belfast That’s a league of 15 which gives them plenty of time to play in an extended Champions league & also fit in a few friendlies. Can you see any of the non big 6 turning it down? Of course we’ll enjoy battling it out with the new big 6. Leicester, Palace, West Brom, Wolves, Sheffield Utd & Brighton.
  5. I bet she doesn’t oppose halal practises.
  6. Bingo Even managed to shoehorn a Hopkins in.
  7. Are the UK parliament not able to regulate food standards?
  8. That’s the spirit. Obviously you’re not going to complain when every single half decent player or prospect moves to the new super league and their bloated squads. You won’t be complaining when we’re on some god forsaken internet channel who are paying peanuts, whilst the super league mop up all the tv money. You can bet your bottom dollar tickets will be the same price, as we watch second class clubs and second class players. What’s not to like?
  9. The other clubs have a delicate balancing act to perform. Just like with the formation of the premier league the also rans will have to grant some concessions to head off an European league. I know people will say fuck em, but a league without those clubs would eventually wither and become boring. All the money and decent players will drain towards it. Personally, it wouldn’t surprise me if this document was leaked as a worse case scenario that’ll get watered down. The big clubs will end up getting some of it and rest will be happy some of the proposals have been dropped. 18 clubs, abolishing the league cup & charity shield are sensible proposals in the modern game imo. The revised play offs with 3rd from bottom involved is interesting as well.
  10. It’s exactly what happened when the Premier League was set up. Everybody jumps on the bandwagon that the Utd’s & Liverpool’s are the villains, but they’re all the fucking same. Saints, Palace, etc don’t give a shiny shite about “football” or the pyramid, they’re only interested it what it is it for them. Exactly as Rochdale, Barnsley and Exeter would be if they were in the premier league. I don’t recall too many Saints people concerned about the football league in ‘92, that was the time to take a stand. You can’t put the genie back in the bottle, it’s every man for himself now
  11. According to reports today, the voting for or against PPV was done one after the other and alphabetically, therefore by the time Leicester voted it was already apparent that it was going to sail through. It was 9 for the proposal with 0 against with Liverpool, Man Utd, Man City & Spurs still to vote. Maybe they would have gone against in a secret ballot, or just maybe they’re better at PR than some of the others. For all their opposition, I bet they take the dough.
  12. Won’t happen though. People will pay, it’s the same as anything with football, they moan about the cost but the demand will be there.
  13. Correct. I posted on a thread during lockdown when people were praising the Premier league for having free to air games, that we should be carful what we wish for. The 3pm live games, every game live, and now this, it’s all heading in one direction and even broadcasters need to beware of the long term. The end game is The premier league streaming every game themselves ,but the real sting in the tail will be the distribution of the money for these games. Manchester Utd will keep their subscription money and Saints will keep theirs, within 5 years the differences in revenue between them will be as big as match day revenue is now. With one crucial difference, they’ll be no TV money to redress the balance.
  14. The other notable thing is the free pass the press have handed Krankie & the SNP (over this, not her old man trying to influence the police & stitch up the previous leader). This sweaty Covid MP must have told the whips she was going back up north on the Tuesday. What reason did she give? Also, when did the SNP find out she had travelled on a train infected with Covid and what did they then do about it, and who did they inform? It looks like a classic “Westminster ducks in a row” operation when the news broke, I’d bet my bottom dollar they only acted once the story broke, rather than when they knew about it. When it’s some mp boning a hooker, that’s ok, but everybody who potentially came into contact with the dopey bint needs to self isolate ASAP to stop further infections, even half a day is too long. The MSM who can’t wait to produce a “gotcha” moment when it’s a Tory, haven’t bothered to investigate this properly, a bit of old fashioned journalism would have exposed them. As you say, this breach doesn’t mean others were ok. But only a one eyed half bake can’t see that this is far and away the worst. Far far worse than Ferguson, the sweaty advisor, Boris’ dad, or Dom. It’s probably worse than all 3 added together.
  15. There’s no almost about it, it’s 100% down to Brexit. The BBC can’t help bringing up Dom every single time there’s a breach, yet constantly have Ferguson on preaching his pony, and they never ever mention his transgression despite him being at the forefront of the Gov policy . That daft hack Maguire was even on LBC this morning claiming that no measures will ever work, “because of Cummins”. I don’t know what will last longer, Covid or Brexit deranged syndrome. At least with Covid there’s a chance of a vaccine, I don’t think they’ll ever be a cure for BDS.
  16. Really? He manages to shoehorn Tommy Robinson (not his real name) into nearly every thread.
  17. Funny enough I read an article about Craig Gordon resigning for Hearts this summer. Last appearance for them was Aug 2007, so that’s over 13 years if he starts a game this season.
  18. Oh no...Robbing bastards!!!!!
  19. What a load of old pony. Only in your warped mind is this a fact.
  20. Tories want to hear about fracking, not renewables. Leave that to the sandal wearers.
  21. Agreed. It clearly wasn’t aimed at the core Tory vote, aimed at pinkos and soft arsed lefties. As you say simpler voters.
  22. Interesting article. The bit about Boufal not contributing behind the scenes goes against the perceived wisdom from his fan boys on here. Ely maybe given another shot is also surprising. All in all the thinking outlined in the article makes sense on paper, let’s see if it pans out in reality too. My favourite era was when Lawrie mixed youngsters with genuine stars that were slightly over the hill. Whilst Walcott was never in the class of a Bally, KK or Jimmy Case, has more top level European & England experience than many of the oldies Lawrie signed. If his attitude is right, could be a decent signing on & off the pitch.
  23. I don’t think masks make much of a difference & when you see the way some people wear them or the dirty rags some use, in some cases they’ll make things worse. However, it’s not really a big deal to wear one and not worth getting into arguments over.
