Mind you, it being Corbyn, he probably meant to call it on HM Government, but ****ed it up. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Bottle job. He’s called it in May, not the Government. Under the fixed term parliament act a vote of no confidence in HM Government means it falls. A vote of no confidence in the PM has no standing. Tories can just not vote, it’s meaningless Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Slubbers Arms (1 Halifax old rd) best pint of Taylor’s I’ve ever had, cheap as well. Don’t be seduced by the pie and peas offer, and the locals all raving about it. It’s a bizarre dish of hot pork pie surrounded by mushy peas in a bowl. Very strange. Other than that incredibly friendly place with great ale. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

You make my point for me, thanks. We get out, then our parliament decide our future relationship. If that’s Norway, so be it. It’s not my choice, but once out, the people can change Government and vote for one that promises to renegotiate or withdraw from it. This is clearly where May’s turd falls down and is the reason it’s unacceptable. Simply put, the backstop binds future Governments. I voted for the Government to take back control of our trade policy, unlike you undemocratic remoaners ,that principle applies to things I don’t agree with as well as things I do. The only part of the whole thing that is BRINO is the backstop. If that goes, May’s turd, as awful and pathetic as it is, does represent Brexit. The backstop does not.

I voted to withdraw from the EU. “Leave”was all that was on the ballot paper, not “Leave with a deal”. Seeing as the question on the ballot was debated and agreed by Parliament, I don’t see what the ambiguity is. If you’re unhappy that the question wasn’t more specific, I suggest you’ve been let down by the Remainers in Parliament and should therefore be directing your anger at them. Of course, they thought they were going to win, so didn’t really bother thinking it through. We’re not Switzerland, we don’t govern by a series of referenda, we voted Leave, we leave. As an aside, I’ve been reading Tim Shipmans book “All out war”. The story of Brexit. Interestingly I’m at the bit where “Stronger in” think they’ve scored a knock out blow during the campaign. They think they’ve hassled Vote Leave into a strategic mistake, Will Straw and McGrory are sending emails to remain politicians to hammer it home. They want this highlighted and they think it’s the turning point, the thing that’ll win it for them. “Mention it every chance you get” is the plea. What was this mistake? Well, Gove, Boris and other Leave leaders stating we will be out of the single market. That’s what they went with, what they hammered home.

Ryan Bertrand not a fan of Mark Hughes...
Lord Duckhunter replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Spot on. I taped the Utd Liverpool game and watched it when I got in. Roy Keane said the same about Utd players. He said “ I never blamed the manager when I played badly”. Said players have to give their all regardless of what they think of the man in charge. If Ryan Bertrand’s been giving his all week in week out the past 2 seasons , then my c@@ks a carrot. It’s classless to have a pop at previous managers. Players need to take responsibility for poor performances, not hide behind tactics or formations. There’s a reason he’s lost his England place and if he thinks that’s because of bad management, he’s deluded. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Saints 3 - Arsenal 2 - I should start threads more often
Lord Duckhunter replied to Secret Site Agent's topic in The Saints
Seeing as Cedric, Bertrand & Lemina were out, that’s a fantastic result. OR played well, bar their second goal, as did Redmond. Ings different class & calm finish from Charlie at the end. We actually defended the last few minutes well without panicking, and ran the clock down intelligently. Great spirit and a much needed boost to morale. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

I assumed that by starting a thread people were asking for other posters opinions. Sorry for the. misunderstanding, I didn’t realise you had to be asked before you contribute. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Weekend’s other games - Wagner leaves Huddersfield

They’re only 2 points above Leicester, yet his biggest fan boy thinks he’s working wonders at Everton. It’s probably the momentum curve from Fat Sam , or some other complete pony. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -

He was top quality the first two years, but since has dropped off a level. Whether that’s to do with lack of quality around him, or the first two seasons being a peak he can’t reach again is debatable. What’s not debatable is he’s head and shoulders above any other option we’ve got. Personally, he annoys me, as he looks too causal for my liking and looks like he’s going through the motions. But he’s probably the first name on the team sheet because we lack a decent replacement Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

He’s calling people thick, but seems to confuse the future relationship with the withdrawal agreement. This happens all the time with the alleged “brightest” of our electorate . Lucas was at it last night on QT. We’re no nearer knowing what Brexit looks like now, than we were the day we voted. What we do know is what the cost/terms of leaving are, if we sign up to May’s turd. The political declaration is so wholly that it can be interpreted in anyway. It could turn out to be the simplest trade deal ever negotiated, it could be a comprehensive FTA, could be Norway+ or a bespoke deal. The only thing it can’t be (under May’s turd) is a permanent “no deal”, but that’s not the preferred option of anyone. A50 was written in such a way that these issues were inevitable, unless the EU seriously thought you’d walk away without a withdrawal agreement. Even now they have absolutely no incentive or reason to water down the backstop. Why would they, when May has made in very clear she won’t contemplate a no deal withdrawal. Even if you think no deal is the most horrendous thing that could ever happen, you can’t allow the other side to know that. The worst victim of a no deal withdrawal will be Eire, but they are not wetting their pants over it like our lightweight politicians are. They maybe in private, but they’re not giving the other side (The UK) that vibe. We are. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

What a load of pony, you know full well I meant a vote the public took part in. An election or a referendum, a national vote, not a parliamentary vote. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

This is a ridiculous statement. Leave will look like whatever the British people want it to look like. If they want a low tax, low regulated economy, then over time they’ll get that. If they want Corbynomics, nationalise everything socialist paradise they’ll get that. The British people will decide, far better way to run a sovereign country than 27 other nations dictating our regulations, immigration and tax policies. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Funny how blokes on a football forum think they know more about the Irish border, the GFA and the troubles, than David Trimble, who helped write it & Arlene Foster whose dad was shot by the IRA. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The country does need to come back together and it would be great if we could get a deal that would do so. But the bottom line is we need to be out of SM,CU & ECJ. It was pretty clear that “take back control” was the theme of the Leave campaign and membership of the SM, CU and subject to the ECJ is contrary to that. Compromises around the edges of that are compatible with the result, full blown membership of any of them is clearly not. The first phrase of healing is for the losing side to accept the result, until they do that, the nation will continue to be divided. The first referendum wasn’t so divisive because the Tony Benn’s, Peter Shore’s & Enoch Powell’s accepted the result. They continued to campaign to leave and continued to be critical of the EEC, but they never questioned the legitimacy of the result or the motives of the other side. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Im sorry, but I don’t agree with this at all. There was no compromise when we voted to Remain the first time, no thought at all of the people that wanted out. Had Remain won 52/48 there wouldn’t have been talk of compromise or discussions about which parts of The EU we should withdraw from to placate the losers. It would have been full steam ahead without a second thought for the 48%. If Corbyn forms a Government winning 52% of the constituencies, he won’t water down his policies to compromise with the 48% who didn’t go labour. All the alleged “rebels” want is the PM to stick to her manifesto commitments, out of the SM, out of CU and no ECJ involvement in UK. It must be the first time in history that people actually advocating party policy are called extremists. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
