  1. I do find it funny that the “moderates” seem to have a pick and mix approach to democratic votes. When they had no confidence in Corbyn he had to face another leadership election, mandatory reselection basically. But when their local activists have no confidence in them, Corbyn has to “call the dogs off”. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  2. That’s not how I read it. They’ll still have to win a play off. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  4. My snap dragon is just sorting 3 small previous ones she had. She’s taking 25% tax free, the rest is going into some sort of retirement account that she can draw the money from when she wants to. Obviously the money she draws down will be taxed as she earns over the 12k tax free amount. She’s got a decent NHS pension as well, so when she retires she’ll still pay tax on it. However, if you’re going to retire on less than 12k (or what ever the equivalent figure is then), leave it in the account and it won’t be taxed when you draw it down. So my understanding of the rules is you can take all the money from both your pots, but 75% of it will be taxed at your income tax rate. If you put that 75% in a retirement account, you’ll only pay tax when you draw down the money. So under present rules if your income through retirement or semi retirement was 10k you could draw down 2k of it a year tax free. I maybe wrong, but that’s what we think. Personally, I want to get my 25% out ASAP, because there’s nothing to stop future Governments ****ing with that figure Ps only applies to defined contribution ones, not sure about FS rules. 5. If I was going to get arrested for a hate crime I’d want the victim to be a better looking bird than that one. Not impressed
  6. Their worse than useless. The girl I spoke to was so paranoid that she would have been giving financial advice that she basically said **** all. From what I understand I can re join the company one, they’ll continue to contribute, but she wouldn’t commit on the tax implications. If I read the Gov rules correctly, you can take an annuity and not fall foul of recycling rules because that income is taxed. If I left my present employer at 55, I could take my pension. I could then take out a new pension with my new employer, so I don’t see the difference in terms of tax implications with doing that with the same employer. Maybe I’m look at it too simplistically, but the only downside i can see to taking a MP pension early is the compound interest you’ll lose. The FS portion is incredibly generous around taking it early, I’ll lose £92 a month gross, which is not a lot when it means taking it 10 years early. However it becomes incredibly unattractive if I can’t build up a decent new pot in those 10 years. I guess I’ll have to try this Govt pension service, or even pay for advise. 7. Come on, isn’t it pretty obvious. You’ll be saying you don’t know why blokes cop a look at birds tits next. As for it being a hate crime, I’m with the silly old sod on this one. How on earth do you prove “hate” beyond reasonable doubt? It’s such a wholly leftie concept anyway. I presume it’s defined as you only committed the crime because you hated the person for what they are, rather than who they are. I get it with ethnicity, or race. You beat the bloke up because he was French, you kicked the bloke in the nuts because he was black, but when it’s a sexual thing and covers half the population how do you prove it. You coped a look at a bird because you hate birds. WTF. I guess lefties will say that rapists & sexual deviants hate women, but I bet the % of sex offenders that subconsciously hate birds is incredibly low, and up skirters will be the same. They’re just pervs who like chicks but can’t pull them.
  8. Are you employed or is it a private pension. If it’s a company pension scheme are they still making contributions even though you’re drawing on their pension. I guess with auto enrolment they have to. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  9. Next year I reach the grand old age of 55. Having recently lost my best mate of 40ish years to the big C, those pension pots are looking quite enticing. However, it’s so bloody complicated I was wondering is anyone had some knowledge or advice. I’ve basically got a frozen final salary one, I’ve got clear projections of what taking it 10 years early will cost me, so that’s the easy bit. The complicated one is the one I’ve got with my present employer. It started off as a final salary, but when they closed that,it got linked to a defined contribution one. I’ve checked and I can’t take the Final salary part, without taking the money purchase portion. Therefore I thought It’ll be a no go because there won’t be enough to fully retire once I stop work. However, I’ve subsequently found out from a colleague that due to auto enrolment legislation you can take your pension and then start another one with the same employer the following month. I’m suddenly starting to think that I could take the linked one and because the FS part of it is frozen anyway , could then continue to work and rebuild the money purchase part of the pot. From what I can make out, all I’m going to be losing is the compound interest on the money. I’ve googled it and there’s something called MPAA which limits tax relief and stops people over 55 recycling wages through pensions and avoiding tax, but if I’m reading the legislation correctly it won’t apply in my case, because I’m going to be taking 25% & then having an annuity. Are my assumptions correct, or am I missing something obvious because getting extra income now whilst I’m fit and able to enjoy it, is pretty attractive. However it’s only attractive if I can continue to receive tax relief & company contributions after starting a new pension. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  11. Banksies blue wave will steer the party in another direction. You’re the one supporting their leaders. Major, Cameron, May, all on your side of the Brexit divide. As you say, they’re dedicated to ****ing the less fortunate over. Luckily , the less fortunate found their voice and took back control. Whereas people like you are still siding with The Man against them. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  12. There won’t be an election. No chance, not a hope. It’s been taken out of the PM’s hands, and if you think enough Tories are going to vote for one you’re deluded. There is zero chance of them voluntarily voting for an election they don’t need to call, and with her at the helm. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  13. I’ve just had a quick skim read of the Forster contract extension thread. It’s probably about 70/30 against it being a good thing. Some people did think Les did the right thing and one even claimed he was on a par with Niemi. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  14. If that’s the case, I’ve wasted £6. Hardly the end of the world. Personally, I think Nov will be pushing it, unless it’s already been fixed. Ive thought for a long time they’ll be a massive fudge where the withdrawal agreement will be so wholly both sides can blag it. That’ll bring a “transition phrase” which will be when the fun begins. She won’t be able to get anything through the commons, so won’t even try. The whole history of her premiership is her kicking the can down the road, she’ll limp on and on, until the ERG pull the trigger. The fixed term parliament act ties her hands and stops her tacking a confidence vote onto it. She’s basically ****ed, she can’t even go nuclear and call an election. There’s no way the grey suits will let her, even if they did, enough tories wont want one to vote it through. Whatever happens the conference should be fun, although surely she can’t be as embarrassing as last year. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  15. They’ve now vetted me to make sure I wasn’t one of Banksies blue momentum, and I’m in. From what I can make out their vetting procedure is to check I didn’t join by following Aaron’s link, and that I hadn’t been a member of another party recently. Exactly as I said , 3 months and I’ll be able to vote for the next PM once the ERG decide the time is right to strike down the Maybot. All for only £2 a month. Thank you Brandon...... 16. What about Labour MP’s and ex MPs witch hunts? Because if it was just The Tory press you may have a point, it’s Labour supporters that are keeping the story running and running. They haven’t got the balls to leave the party, so are using this as a proxy war. Every single one of them knew about Corbyn’s past, his anti Semitic views & his dodgy friends when they campaigned for him to become PM. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  18. You clearly haven’t been following his career. It’s not just the last few years he’s been woeful in front of goal, it’s his whole ****ing career. Those few games under Koeman were a blip, a purple patch. If he would replicate that season in season out, he wouldn’t be playing for us. He’s never been a dribbler, his pace is used closing opponents down, chasing long balls and getting us up the pitch. He’s not got quick feet or sharp in the box for us to slide passes into, ala Gabbi. Again, if you added that to his game he’d be playing for a top 6 side. Don’t you think Hughes is aware of his limitations and would do anything to get someone better in. The fact that he watches Gallagher day in day out, and doesn’t think it’s him tells you a lot. What makes you think you can see something that Mark Hughes can’t, bearing in mind Hughes was one of the best centre forwards of his generation and has seen Gallagher far far more than you. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  19. This is just pony. Why is it bad when a centre forwards best attribute is holding the ball up. It’s a pretty damn big part of the game. It’s something a lot of modern centre forwards struggle with, including some big powerful players. Of course you’d like him to play like Hughes did in his prime, hold it up and pose a threat goal scoring wise. But if he could finish , he wouldn’t be playing for us. The one thing he gives us that none of the other strikers do is an out ball. Some sides don’t particularly need one, but we do, and that’s why we look better (particularly away from home) when he’s playing as opposed to Austin or Gabbi. To say he’s not PL standard is clearly nonsense. The fact he’s spent the last few years playing in it proves that you’re wrong. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Both full backs were excellent today as was the keeper, the centre halves did ok, although he can’t hit a barn door Benteke is still a handful in the air and I thought they handled him ok. Centre midfield worked well, PEH probably having his best game in a saints shirt. Redmond wasn’t as quite as effective as in other games this season, but was disciplined and worked hard.Elyounoussi, gave a solid performance. Up front. Ings didn’t quite look at his best, and it’s great that we’ve finally got a player that makes finishing look easy, even when they’re not firing properly. Long was Long again. Got us up the pitch, worked hard battled and gave us an out ball. All without looking likely to score. All in all an impressive proper away win. Ride our luck a bit, the first of which was Zaha not playing. But how many times have a team been there for the taking and we’ve screwed up? We seem a bit more ruthless, not quite so polite, under Hughes and I like it. Couple of dodgy halves, but other than that we’ve looked ok this season. I don’t think we’ll set the world alight, but we’ll be fine. MoTM-McCarthy just edges PEH for me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Jared O'Mara didn’t, Woodcock didn’t, Naz Shah didnt, in fact I can’t recall one mp that became an independent that has. Although that hasn’t stopped Corbyns attack dogs having a go at one of the most respected men in Westminster. Reports are he’s considering calling a vote, even the loony left must realise he’ll wipe the floor with them if he does. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  23. There ain’t many MP’s that are respected across the political divide, but Frank Field is one of them. Of course he’s getting mountains of clogg from the “kinder and gentler “ lefties that make up the membership nowadays. Let’s see if any of the “moderates “ have the balls that Frank has and leave the cesspit created by Corbyn Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
