If it goes through parliament than that's democracy for you. You call it a "snoopers charter" but the way I look at it is our political leaders know a bit more about security and protection of the people than you or I . If both Tory and labour vote to pass this, that's pretty convincing in my opinion . Labour would not vote with Tory unless absolutely necessary. As for welfare, its spread too thinly and needs reform. The bill is way too high and if some money is redistributed to keep us safer , then so be it. I would start with universal benefits that are given to people who don't need them.

I want to see what they look like, pound to a penny, they're all a load of ugly trouts.

I remember reading about this at the time. Evidently he popped into Sainsburys on the way to training and got into a conversation with a supporter about the comings and goings at the club. This, and the guy ****ing around having his picture taken made him late. Rather than face a club fine he had to put his foot down . Nice bloke though.

Did anyone watch Question Time from Ulster last night? We had the bizarre sight of the sinn fein education spokesman condemning the attack on a British solider in cold blood. It took Ian Paisley Jnr to point out that the Replications did this to two soldiers, dragging them from the car and murdering them in cold blood. Dimble went very quiet and we all moved on.

It was Kris Kristofferson, if you're going to troll you should get your facts right.

It is a racial slur in America. End of, no debate about it. Whether you think it is or isn't, is irrelevant. Whether you think it should be or shouldn't be is irrelevant, it is.

I worked in the Southern states of America for a few years during the 80's and we had black guys as labourers. What Garcia said was incredibly offensive and would have got him knocked out on the construction sites we worked on. It's not a question of "fish and chips" or "roast beef" or even saying that a Frenchmen smells of garlic, it is a phrase that everybody over there knows is basically a racial slur. Garcia is either incredibly stupid or meant to cause offense, as a well travelled man who spends a lot of his time in the States I lean towards a deliberate insult designed to cause maximum offense rather than a bit of banter that went wrong. It's not for us to decide what is offensive in another country and what isn't. Fact of the matter is that using fried chicken in that context is a racial slur. I once saw a guy chased all over the roof of a health centre we were working on, after he called one of the black labourers "boy". To call a grown man boy is no big deal over here, but to call to order an African American around with the term boy will cause offense in the same way.

Come on, you're not keeping up with the forum rules. Any kipper who has idiotic views is representative of the whole party ,as well as anyone who has voted for them , or is thinking of voting for them. Whereas anyone like groper rennard, Denis mcshane , Michael brown and Eric Joyce are individuals that are no reflection on their party.

He's got a valid point though. Someone on Radio 4's Westminster hour said that they wouldn't extend civil partnerships to straight people because of the cost involved regarding pensions. They didn't expand on the point, does anyone know what the extra cost would be, I presume it'll be around your Civil partner getting a widows/widower pension, whereas a living in sin partnership doesn't qualify. She did make the point that civil partnerships would be attractive to straight couples who don't want or believe in marriage because of the financial benefits, can anyone shed any light on it? I do find it rather ironic that this is being pushed through as a equality issue, whilst denying Turkish his civil partnership.

Are Stoke the ugliest 'football' team in the Premier?
Lord Duckhunter replied to Norm's topic in The Saints
Even though he's a skate I think some of you are being a bit harsh on pulis. Took the club from near the bottom of the championship to FA cup final, Europa league and something like 6 seasons in the top flight . Thats a pretty decent record and you would have to be over 40 to remember their last spell in the top league. Not great football but I personally wouldn't want a league of arsenal clones. Overcoming hoof specialists is part and parcel of playing in this league. Maybe it was time for a change and pulis had taken them as far as he could, but Charlton supporters said the same about curbishly . -
My nipper isn't going to be able to make as many games this season as last, my eldest wants to go to the games that he misses (as he cant afford a S/T himself) . Do you know if they allow you to pay game by game to upgrade child's season ticket to an adult ticket? Has anyone done this?

You sign Whittingham, we sign Pochettino....
Lord Duckhunter replied to Saint Mikey's topic in The Saints
I thought this one was ok at Spurs and fair play to the lads that started it and kept it going thorough half time, but its getting on my tits now. If we're going to sing about Pompey, it's got to be WTFILN. -
I heard a part of the debate a while back on the Daily Politics. The c of e part of the legislation is around the fact that the Church is established in this country, that's why C of E has to be treated differently under the law, don't ask me why. My view is those opposed against on religious grounds both individually and as religious bodies are picking and choosing which parts of their religion they want to be "morally" opposed to. The church do marry divorcees , they marry adulterers, in fact isn't the queen Supreme Governor of the Church of England. So her adulterous son will inherit that role, how can they then maintain their stance on gay marriage with him as supreme governor. The only flaw in the whole thing is that straight couples cant have a civil partnership and by leaving this flaw in the Government has allowed people opposed to take a stand. Yet again Cameron has taken a good worthwhile change and messed up the nuts and bolts of it. At the end of the day we would be a very strange country if we allowed gays to have sex, but banned them from getting married.

Rip, found this on u tube, great even without Morrison.
-
Do you think stright people should have the right to a civil partnership?
-
I see swivel eyed loons are not just consigned to the right, or is foaming mouth loons more appropriate?
-
Isabel Hardman and David Aaronovitch were on the Marr show yesterday, neither are Swivel eyed loons, but both said that Gove is one of the nicest men in politics and was a pleasure to deal with.

"Out of his depth", Really? He's taken his party from a tiny base and is rattling the establishment and driving the agenda. I know oh so clever people like you don't like it, but far from being out of his depth he's doing fantastically well at what he's paid for. One of the reasons I hope UKIP top the Euro elections is to watch smug people like you foam at the mouth.

I don't think the reporter did anything wrong, although I wish people would stop with the paxman act. It's just so boring now, this attack dog approach to political interviewing. These wannabes should watch Andrew Neil to learn how its done. There is an anti English attitude from some in Scotland. NF was spot on when he said today that had Ukip supporters had heckled salmond like that and told him to "**** off back to Scotland you sweaty bastard" the BBC would be all over it like a rash. Showering the protesters with insults and calling them yobs. At the end of the day Ukip is Ukip not EIP , they have every right to point out the flaws in salmonds argument and Nigel has every right to turn up there without being abused.

At the risk of being sworn at, I would like to point something out. Harold Wilson Ted Heath Jim Callaghan Maggie Thatcher John major I believe every single one went to a grammar school. None were born with a silver spoon in their mouth and all rose to the highest elected office in the land. That is 33 years of state educated pm's, what an example of the positive effects state education can have on mobility. Yet now the last generation of grammar school educated students has gone, what are we left with. A privately educated ellite , who surround themselves with clones and doubles of themselves. The crossmans of the world certainly made a difference , they turned the clock back to an era where gentlemen ruled and us peasants knew our place.
-
Classy. Why don't you answer the question instead of throwing insults around? Why is social mobility so low in this country, it cant all be the fault of the Tory party?
-
Well whose fault was it then? let me guess, the Nasty Tory Party. Why is social mobility so low in this Country, and why was it higher when we had Grammar Schools?
-
Perhaps we should have taught them correctly in the first place, when they were at school.
-
Well 3 ex Chancellors ( one Labour, 2 Tory) disagree with you. All 3 have said they are in favour of withdrawal, I would have thought they would know a bit more about the international markets than you or I.
