  1. Do you really not get it? If enough vote UKIP to keep the Torys out, the end result will be a pro European Labour Govt. How on earth does that help the cause of the Euro realists?
  2. For or against we should be asked. We were asked whether to remain in a Common Market, this is a whole lot more than a common market, and yet we've not been given a say. Powers have been signed away, and we've had no say in it. In hundreds of years historians will look back and wonder just how it was allowed to happen.
  3. But they then started this rule that if X amount of people demanded a debate, then one should be held. The Lib/Dems called for an in/out vote, so it's bizzare that they are oppossing this, particulary as it's no chance of winning. There is one reason and one reason only that there will never be a vote on Europe, and that's because they're worried that the British people will vote against.
  4. Cameron is more interested in power than principles over this. The Euro realists are between a rock and a hard place and he knows this. UKIP will never form a Govt and Labour and Lib/Dems are obsessed with handing more power over to the EU(Milliband even refuses to rule out ever joining the Euro, just says it will be "very hard to see").Therefore Cameron can grandstand over this and not give the opposition the chance to portray him as "right wing" over Europe. It is a stragey perfected by Tony Blair, appeal to the centre and upset your core support as they've nowhere else to go.Tony Blair picked a fight with the left of his party, to appear reasonable and Cameron will do the same over Europe. The biggest hypercrites over this are the Lib/Dems, whose maneifesto included an in/out vote and yet are voting against this motion. The party machines and the establishment will ensure the British people never get a vote on Europe. I remember the original vote, where politicans were allowed to vote for which ever side they wanted. Joining forces with political foes, and then going back to their "day jobs", either in opposition or Govt. Now vote against the party line over Europe, and your career's over.
  5. What ever happens it can not be as bad as the last visit and the loss of bottle from nearly all our players. We'll be well above them in the league, and finishing above them is more important than beating them IMO. I just pray to god we dont sing "we've got more points than you" if we start losing, hearing Boscombe sing that was the most cringeworthy chant I've heard in 40 years of watching football. Dont shoot me, but I'd take 2 defeats and then promotion, over 2 wins and staying down.
  6. Fonte has surprised me this season, I really thought he was Premier League standard but he's struggled to pick up the pace in this league. That said, I dont think Martin is the answer just yet. He should have scored and I think Fonte would of done, but that's not his primary job. Defensively, he did well and is good cover, but I would always have Fonte back in, despite some iffy moments.
  7. Half of what MP did was complete and utter rubbish, but when it worked it was pure comedy gold. Life of Brian is their peak, it is funny and really clever, with some brillant performances. It hit the nail on the head, ridiculing some of the church's ridiculous beliefs. The establishment hated it because it touches a raw nerve. The highlights for me, were the 3 wisemen at the start, the line "He is the messiah, I should know I've followed a few in my time" and Eric Idle, who was fantastic in it.
  8. Couple more wins and they'll be appointing Gray and Wittingham. I might email the club, suggesting that. Perhaps a few of us should hold our noses make out we're Skates and email urging the appointment (obviously dont use the spell checker, otherwise thy'll twig).
  9. They should resign Claridge, he's just banged one in on his comeback. He's younger than Kanu, so you never know.
  10. Claridge has scored for Gosport
  11. We couldn't cope without Lambert at present, but that's mainly down to the lack of a replacement up front. Would also worry if one of the two centre halfs were injured. I think we can rotate around other injuries (as proved by managing ok without AL). We really do need another target man to bring in as cover for RL, and Martin doesn't totally convince me.
  12. You dont seriously believe he wasn't executed do you? Eye witness' are claiming that his son was captured alive, but he then turned up dead a few minutes later. I'm all for the death penalty, all for mass murderers being exacuted and filmed on mobile phones, but I'm not selective about it. If some hairy grunt did for Huntley during an "incident" in prison, Cameron and the rest of the two faced bastards would be condemning it.
  13. Shot, instead of being put on trial. The Israelis would have been condemned by Leftie's everywhere had they done the same thing.
  14. First Bin Laden and now Gaddafi, and British politicans lining up to rejoice. Funny that because is it was Huntley, Fred West or Hindly they'd bang on about the death penalty having no place in a civilised society.
  15. What on earth are you on about? I never mentioned benefits once, just said "had she considered getting a part time job". Surely that is one of her options, places like ASDA and Tesco are still expanding and taking on part timers, perhaps she could work from home. I dont know, and to be blunt I dont really care. I have enough to worry about in my own life, struggling to pay my bills. My point was and remains that in my opinion too many people look to the state to help them with their problems. Welfare is an insurance fund that everybody pays into via the tax system. It is then a safety net for people who are struggling, to ensure that people are fed and have some money to live on. Once you've received this welfare, its up to you how you spend it, you have the same issues that working people have, my Mortgage may go up, so may her rent. Deal with it, like I have to. Once the state has paid the welfare, it should get the hell out of people's lives and leave them to get on with them. You cant have councillours micro managing people's lives.
  16. Surely any verdict will have an influence of Redknapps case, so you cant really draw a conculsion either way.
  17. This is good news for the local economy. Perhaps we could also temp the English team to be based in a SO hotel. Think of the extra revenue the Clubs and pubs would receive if the team were based in the City..........
  18. I would ask her whether she had heard of the CAB, whether she has considered moving to a smaller place, whether she could cut down on some of her spending, or whether she could get a part time job to cover the rent rise. I would also point out to her that in a free market landlords can put the rent up.I would finish off by asking her exactly what she wanted me to do about it, did she want to use my spare room, did she want a loan off me, did she want me to build her a house? I would end by saying that if she didn't like it, she could place her X somewhere else next time, and if enough people agreed with her, then I would lose my £120,000 a year job (perhaps I could write to my reploacement asking for advise on living after losing so much money). I still dont see how that makes me or him a hypocrite. Unless he stood for election under the banner of "Vote for me and I'll help with all your problems" and then told her to **** off. I dont want my councillors wasting time on helping people pay their rent, when the answers are bleeding obvious. If less people looked to the state to help them, then maybe we could cut down on the number of state officals, and cut down on the obscene amount of money we pay these career politicans.
  19. Labour sleaze-Trolling.
  20. "I am afraid you have to live in the real world where the country has no money and residents will have to deal with their own issues rather than expecting 'the system' to sort their lives out. This correspondence is now closed." That is exactly what I would have told her. Just because she doesn't like the answer, why does that make him a hypocrite?
  21. I'm contracted to do 39 hours, but the bosses line is that I do whatever hours it takes to do my job. There is no O/T or TOIL for extra hours as I'm salaried. I tend to do an hour a day and more if needed. However, because I've built up quite a lot of goodwill, am not seen as taking the **** (unlike other Managers), I get to leave early when I need to, slip in extra days off occasionaly and generally do the hours I want to.I Manage 50 odd staff and sometimes ask them to stay on (they however do get paid O/T), because they can see that I put the hours in, they are quite willing to do so.Whereas other managers who take the ****, struggle to get extar out of their teams. My advise (for what it's worth) is to do a great job early on, be prepared to do extra for nothing, win the trust of the bosses, and most will treat you well. I've not been questioned about my hours or working day or even holidays, for the past 9 years, and all I now do is half an hour early and stay half an hour late, and once in a while put a bit extra in. The ones who clock watch end up getting more ****e from the boss, and end up worrying about work whislt at home. For the sake of 5 hours a week, I have stress free time off and more job satisfaction.
  22. The Labour Govt had 2 choices, let the banks fold or bail them out. Just because they decided to bail them out, does not give every Tom, **** and Harry the right to call on the state to help with all their problems. I've started to ride my bike to work to save on petrol, perhaps I should have written to the PM demanding petrol money instead, after all "they bailed the banks out", and "I didn't cause the ecomonic crash".
  23. Perhaps he could go and met our troops and make a "job done" speech. How can you say that it has been a sucsess, when we know nothing about the "victors". Dont forget we were on Bin Laden's side when the mujahideen were fighting the Russians.
  24. I've had a feeling from early on that Nigel is our new Lawrie Mac. The big man would approve of his style of play and the players seem to love playing for him. However lets not forget what Lawrie actually did. Forget about top 2 finish's, that's pretty much impossible these days, but just remember the talent Lawrie brought to the club and the youngsters he (along with others) devoloped. Nigel is playing football in a similar style, but we've yet to see if he can attract the talent and devolop a constant stream of young talent. My gut feeling is that when he retires or leaves us, Nigel will be up there with Ted and Lawrie, but it's early days.Lets have 10 years of the Adkins diet, before he goes off to manage England.
  25. The "goal" was right in front of me and the ref did make a cock up. However, the whistle clearly blew and Almunia seemed to only make a half hearted effort once he heard it. SDR may still have finished, and the ref should have seen if he did and pulled it back if not, but I think Almunia would have made the finish harder if he hadn't heard the whistle.
