Just got back from the UK where I had a car from Enterprise. Never used them before and was very pleased. had a full walk around with a member of their staff before and after so no danger of damage claims. The price was about a hundred quid better than any of the other companies and I was upgraded too (Seat Exeo estate, basically a Passat for about £170 for the week). One word of advice for anyone travelling with a family is always to try to give the impression you're a single business traveller. Like at hotels, they'll treat you far better and give you the best car they can. I try to pick up the car and return it by myself and clean out any mess the kids have made myself.

Yes, I have a Tomtom Start as well, what I was wondering about was whether anyone has a Sat Nav with live traffic updates (this one also does weather reports and Google searches and other stuff) that is reliable. I don't use a smart phone and haven't got any plans to get one, my wife has one from her job, but that's no good to me.

I am fed up with my (second) Tomtom Live1000. I have yet to find anyone who has one that doesn't constantly malfunction. The main problem seems to be that none of them can be charged up, meaning they switch off whenever you unplug the charger as the batteries are no good. Endless resets and reboots just help you get a little mre irritable before you reach your destination. Shame, as when it works it's an amazing bit of kit. Anyway, I was wondering what everyone's experiences are. Are Garmin more reliable than Tomtom, or would that just be wasting more money. I want one with the live update connection, I think it might be called "nuvi" on Garmin. Anyone got a reliable one? Or does anyone else just want to ***** about Tomtom? If you're thinking of buying one, check the tomtom support forum for plenty of reasons to avoid them.

They've always been published here, but it's being challenged at the moment and you can't see the new ones so easily. It was very easy to check people's tax here, you just type in their name and you can see what they earned in recent years and what their declared personal wealth (formue)is. We all check up on our neighbours and colleagues. For example: http://skattelister.no/skatt/profil/jo-stuen-tessem-42531047/ http://skattelister.no/skatt/profil/morten-harket-43109044/ It hasn't stopped cheats really though, just made them more visible. For example this is one of the richest men in Norway, yet he has no income (inntekt) at all. http://skattelister.no/skatt/profil/kjell-inge-rokke-42459942/

Very slow at home, probably even slower than Dune, but I guess that's the price for living on an island.

I'm saying anyone with a huge post count, who posts on every subject going, has no reason to consider themselves separate from the general opinion of SWF. They make up a large part of it. for some reason a lot of them think they are separate from SWF opinion. For example, a certain poster quite often picks out somebody's over-enthusiastic or negative opinion and then holds it up to ridicule as "what everyone on SWF" thinks, but generally he's picking on a minority and his own opinion is probably more representative of the consensus of SWF.

Funny reading the posts on here that have made a decision on what "everyone" thinks. so far it's been pretty evenly divided between, not bad and brings experience, poor and going downhill and somewhere in between. Why do so many posters label the people that disagree with them as "everyone on SWF"? aren't the ones that agree with them or fall somewhere in between "everyone on SWF" as well? See the same thing with political discussion, people with thousands of posts posting together to say what "everyone on SWF" thinks, surely if you have thousands of posts, you and your friends are "everyone on SWF" too. There's at least one poster with over 25 thousand posts who's especially guilty of not seeing himself as typical of the voice of SWF. i think if you have over ten thousand posts, you are pretty representative of SWF opinion. On stadium size, I've only seen a few people posting about needing an enormous stadium, but have grown tired of a few others with huge post counts claiming that's what everyone on SWF thinks.

I once had Budget try to charge me for damage to a car. I told them no chance as they'd had the car parked in a car park open to the public for two hours before I was informed and anything could've happened in the meantime. She tried to tell me that they'd noticed immediately but had only just informed me. i then pointed out that I'd heard her conversation in the background, in Norwegian, moments before that indicated otherwise. Her replay was "OK, you don't have to pay, but never come back to Budget again." As a result of that kind of service, I rarely do.

Delgado cost 3.5m, Chala had to come with him and cost 1m. I think anyone can see that in reality delgado actually cost 4.5m and is our true record signing.

Mrs Norwaysaint is there on business right now. I know she's going to the Guggenheim at some point. One thing I've learned from it is that hotels treat business travellers far far better than they treat holidaymakers, so try to pretend you're there to work, she also mentioned that in NY you should never pay for a hotel in advance, as they will mess you around as much as they like then. The city she recommended most over there was actually Nashville. I've never been over myself, but am hoping to tag along at some point as she only stays in the best hotels and it's all paid for. She had David Cameron in her office on Thursday, true story.

I know for a fact that deppo has never posted on the ugly, but then I also know that deppo himself almost never posted on here outside of the arts section to talk about music. Original deppo didn't hide his identity at all and even played in SWF matches.

If you didn't download so much porn, none of this would happen. Hmm, actually I'd better go and run a scan... -
If Saints were in Euro 2012, how well would we do?

It is impressive that you saw through him so easily and the likes of you and Turkish haven't been biting from the start. -
He's obviously a good keeper, but it would be an odd choice for him. He's by no means guaranteed to dislodge Kelvin, it wouldn't be good for his international prospects to end up as Saints' reserve goalie, which is a very big possibility. I think we should be delighted by the idea of having one of the two on the pitch and the other on the bench, but they would surely hate to be back up for each other and we'd lose one of them by the end of the season.

I too will be desperately seeking the approval of fans of saints and other teams and wearing whatever it takes to achieve that. -

I disagree, i think it's a good thing that people now have a forum to voice their opinions without some meathead trying to physically intimidate them out of making a valid point. He had some good points and should be allowed to voice them without somebody trying to say he has to meet up with them face to face, with obvious undertones of physical intimidation. This is the internet, a place where your words should do the talking and your physical ability means **** all, if you can't handle that, toddle off and keep your chats in the real world. Why does he need to meet up with you? You could be a loony. His opinions are there for you to read, if you have the ability to respond with just words, do it. Don't hide behind intimidation. -
The fact that you still post that, assuming you have read the article, shows the depth of the problem there. The article argues that you are wrong and that it was never relatively harmless, not based on the psychological effects, but the physical health risks, yet even after reading it, you still call it relatively harmless. It never was. That's the misconception. The whole increased THC thing is another issue in itself.

This was an interesting read: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-18283689 I used to indulge when I was younger and I have to admit that I was typical of those far too eager to believe everything positive or at least that downplayed the negative sides. I'm not saying that people shouldn't be allowed to do it, but people should be aware of what the risks really are when they make their choices. There's always been a bit of an attitude of wanting to believe it's completely harmless, especially in comparison to other drugs. Especially interesting to see the comparative carcinogenic effects of a joint and a cigarette, one joint being equivalent to 20 cigarettes. Four times as much tar, five times as much carbon monoxide. This is all before you even look at the mental health issues. Anyone else want to admit to indulging or having indulged while being woefully misinformed about how harmful it can be?

Tove Jansson wrote a fantastic book for grown ups called the Summer Book. It's a beautiful read and I thank The (original) Stain for bringing it to my attention.

This thread is a great demonstration of why Britain has problems celebrating itself at all. Just look at the title of the thread for a perfect example. Instead of simply celebrating what he wants to, the poster is unable to feel good unless trying to have a go at somebody else. It's snide and unnecessary. Too many people have a problem with managing patriotism or royalism, without serving it with a generous side helping of hatred and disdain. There's plenty to celebrate about being British or English, there's plenty to enjoy about having a monarchy. Just do that without worrying so much about the people who don't want to join in. Likewise, the people who don't want to join in don't need to try to make unpleasant comments about those who do (Yes we all know they're all Germans and Greeks). There are clearly enough people in the UK who want this to happen, so let the people have what they want. I'm not a royalist, but that's what there is and any movement to change that is not the current voice of the people. So stop whinging and let the royalists have their celebration, they'll even let you come to their party.

How heavy does that ball look compared to nowadays? It just sort of thuds to the ground and hardly bounces at all.

I'm not entirely sure I believe an eleven year old didn't know what a carrot was. I suppose it'd be possible to avoid broccoli if the parents didn't eat it. My eldest will eat most vegetables if they aren't cooked, it's a pain to always have to remember to keep some veg to the side and not cook it, but I can't complain as it's far healthier. My youngest is utterly random with food, one day she'll only eat vegetables, the next she'll eat everything, the next almost nothing etc.

It's a very good question. What's your opinion, Turkish? Do you have one?
