  1. Similar situation for me, wife's just come back from being in the States all week on business, we are up in the mountains in our cabin for traditional Easter skiing time, very much a family thing including in-laws. however I have made sure that over the last few weeks I have put so many "points" in the bank that wifey was only too happy to agree that I listen to or watch the match. Managed to get a crappy mobile internet connection so I'm hoping it holds out. Nearest town where they could show it is an hour away (after I ski for half an hour to the car). They've said they'll put it on for me but have spurs on the big screen, so I'd probably get no sound. Think I'll just try to get it working here on the laptop. Ah well, sunshine and beautiful skiing conditions until then. Off to ski up the hill to a nearby farm for a picnic now.
  2. It's been out on DVD for months here. I got it for Christmas.
  3. Nope, I'm screwed here. It would normally be no problem, plenty of decent football pubs in Bergen, but in Norway at Easter you go up to your family's mountain cabin for Easter skiing. I won't even have a decent mobile signal up there. I've been phoning around every pub that shows football within 90 minutes drive of the place and they are only showing the Spurs game. ********. I'll at least be nicking the Mrs' iphone and getting up to high ground to keep track as best as I can. Is it right you can't get saintsplayer on the iphone? Is there an alternative way to listen?
  4. Oh yeah and a motor boat mainly used for fishing
  5. an axe (for chopping wood, not killing people), have been considering getting a chainsaw 5 types of saw (doesn't count if you need them for your job) A spirit level longer than 3 feet petrol powered strimmer a fridge just for beer I used to have a concrete mixer, but gave it away
  6. I've just watched the first two episodes of Game of Thrones. It seems pretty good, with plenty of female nudity too, which is always a bonus. Or was that what everybody was recommending?
  7. I saw an advert yesterday that the film of the Jo Nesbø book "Headhunters" (Hodejegerne) is being released at cinemas over there. Someone gave me the DVD of that for Christmas, it's a pretty good thriller. Never read the book, but it was inventive and twisty-turny enough to make it a good watch.
  8. Yes. I disliked all of the characters in Breaking Bad, not the actors, just the characters and I found that a bit wearing after a 2 seasons. The characters in Entourage were very likeable, especially Ari and Johnny. I don't just mean because of the "bad" side of it either. I thought mot of the characters in The Wire were great to watch too and most of them were pretty sleazy.
  9. I stopped watching Breaking Bad during the second series. The problem was that I hated every single character, which meant I never really enjoyed it. The main bloke was annoying, his friend was annoying, his wife was annoying, the in-laws were annoying. I just got annoyed with it basically. Glasgow Saint, the missing series in your life is probably Entourage, although even that went on a season or two too long. Nothing touches The Wire for me so far though. Haven't seen Homeland yet.
  10. Pretty sure we're not part of the decision making process.

    It's political correctness gone mad!
  12. Madness, the bloke has made one post on this thread where he gave no opinion at all and just said that he'd heard a rumour. He didn't say he believed it. It's also sparked a lot of debate on a subject that's worth discussing. I can't see anything there worthy of abuse at all.
  13. I'd say this is about th most sensible post here. As the OP says, this is just a rumour and he was careful not to say he believed it or if he thought much of the source. He just heard something and came on here to see if anyone else had. One day the club will probably be sold when an offer comes in that seems to be good business. I think when that happens, it will only go to somebody the Liebherrs believe in as they wouldn't want to see something Markus believed in thrown away. My guess would be that the club isn't up for sale, but as we're a club with well publicised assets who are about to move into the big money division, people have begun to discuss the possibility and what they think the club would go for.
  14. I thought all of the bestest fans do criticise Guly and make snidey comments about Cortese? Also, to be one of the bestest fans, you probably need to have more emotion invested in going on about Pompey's mismanagement than in Saints' successes.
  15. Reminds me of that classic moment on Top of the Pops. Dexy's Midnight Runners had asked the BBC bloke for a picture of soul legend Jackie Wilson for their backdrop...
  16. We do often, by the coach load Worth pointing out that here in Norway, we go to Sweden for cheaper alcohol. They have enormous warehouse stores on the border. If we want to buy wine here, we have to go to vinmonopolet (the wine monopoly). Most Norwegians would say that 55 SEK is very cheap for a beer.
  17. Hmm, another example of being taken out of a Montessori school as a teenager. I discovered yesterday that the founders of Google, Wikipedia and Amazon all went to Montessori schools too. As did William and Harry although their achievements aren't so impressive.
  18. It does seem a ridiculous way to behave, especially in this day and age of laptops and wi-fi.
  19. Yeah, I've seen some take their kids out of the system at that age, I'll have to find out more later. Do you have any experience personally or is it mostly hearsay? There are certainly rules and a lot of team work, so I don't know where that idea comes from, but the big thing is that they have some say in what they do. It also seems a system that caters well to both brighter and slower children.
  20. I knew nothing about these really until quite recently. If I had heard of them I thought they were just something weird. We did a bit of research after constantly hearing bad things about our local school from other parents and I visited one to check it out. I'd consider myself a reasonable judge after 12 years of primary school teaching and 5 of upper secondary and I have to say they are really onto something. The social ability of the kids is way beyond anything I've seen at regular schools, the eagerness to learn is greater and they all loved the place. On top of this, as far as I've seen so far the academic levels are easily a match for regular schools. Of course as a paying school this might be to do with parental involvement as they try to get value. As a rule I've never gone in for private education, but I live on an island and picking and choosing local schools wasn't an option. Just wondered if anyone else has experience of them and how they've found it. My eldest is well into her first year now an is way beyond what kids at parallel schools are doing and she loves it. Any other experience out there?
  21. Exactly, St George was a Syrian or a palestinian and would probably preferred something more traditionally arabic.
  22. He gives more depth to our strikers and is a good back-up for Ricky. From his side, it was still a good move as he will probably get the chance to play in the prem next season. He has to wait for his chance to break into the side, just like Niemi had to wait quite a while to get past Paul Jones and Killer was kept out of the team for a while by Paul Williams. His chance will come.
  23. That'll be six then.
  24. Nah, the only northerner on here is that bloke who lives in Tromsø. That's north, the rest of you are all southerners.
  25. Obviously loads of holes can be picked in this until it's meaningless. For example, Martin would only be called up to an injury depleted side, meaning we'd be more likely to lose his matches. Also it could be argued the other way around that it was lucky for Chaplow that he was injured at a time when our form dropped, so he didn't have to be involved in those games. Also as somebody else pointed out, you've included games where they started, but Chaplow started on Saturday, but was taken off while while we were losing. It was without him that we won. It's interesting, but you can't draw much from it.
