Don't know of he was there yesterday but I think he is a Saints fan having seen him at many games before - I believe he is also a good friend of Lowe. I hope FF that if there is any connection the breeze turns into a hurricane and blows him far from SMS.

Club we should have a vendetta against over the points deduction
Katalinic replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
If the shoe was on the other foot we would have been as vocal. Better to concentrate our efforts on saving OUR club than wasting time on vendetta and recrimination. -
Meeting Thurs 23rd with Trust, SISA, Saveoursaints, 2 MPs, LM and MC
Katalinic replied to derry's topic in The Saints
I still believe the general feeling is that the players earn thousands a week and publically anyway have said and done f*** all - of those I've spoken to the attitude seems to be that "why should I contribute to BWP's wages" - people would feel more inclined to contribute if those on thousands of pounds a week did the same. Given the circumstances the club is in I agree that the fans have to make things happen if we want a football club next year but it is understandable. -
So Will The Club Just Be wound Up If No Buyer Is Found????
Katalinic replied to um pahars's topic in The Saints
In the press conference yesterday Mark Fry stated that the intention was that one of the interested parties would atke over the club "before the money runs out". I can't see therefore that we are only a few days from oblivion. -
And worst of all, Wotton on a 3 year contract - unbelieveable decision http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/search/?mode=movenav&page_id=10234

There wasn't one when we were relegated from the premier league so if we drop next week I wouldn't imagine there would be one. You can't blame some of the kids that have been put in this position and they don't deserve abuse. Most right minded fans know exactly where the blame lies.
-
Exeter, Brentford and Yeovil not too far either. Nor Charlton....I would like to see Plymouth drop too.
-
Isn't Wotton on a 3 year contract?
-
Interesting, nothing yet on CreditSafe which is where I got the Rufus Brevett details.
-
There is already a Southampton Football Club Limited and Rufus Brevett has only ever been a director of one company - Rufus Brevett Developments Limited so I would suggest taking this info with a pinch of salt.

It was early in the season that killed us though pre administration - Forecast was signed clearly because it was felt KD was off to Ipswich which then didn't happen (major error to do that deal before anything for Kelvin was sorted), we then brought in poor loans and even worse signings i.e. Pulis. The fans lost confidence because the performances were poor but by that time we were in an unstoppable downward spiral. Yes we had to mix youth with experience and clearly couldn't go out and spend but we could have done it so much more effectively.
-
Thanks for your patronising response but we have come to expect that from "His Master's Voice" I think actually most will agree with the point I was making i.e. we wasted an awful lot of money on c*** when we could have kept John, and/or Saganowski or Rasiak - is that simple enough for you to grasp?
-
We had a choice in terms of signing better players than Gasmi, Pulis, Robertson, Smith, Forecast, Pekhart.....or better still keeping a couple of our better players instead of sending them out on loan.
-
Lol, you talk about denial - funniest thing I've seen on here for ages.
-
You can only tell the players what they have to do to do, if they are not good enough or intelligent enough to do it..............
-
You can't blame him for 2 defensive howlers in the first 5 minutes - that killed any gameplan which was presumably to play one up front and keep it tight at the back. It doesn't matter what combination you put in, these players are not good enough and we will end up where we deserve to be - we have been a relegation outfit all season. (Despite what Chris Iwelumo thinks!)
-
FF that's the second post where you have alluded to this and that makes me uneasy given your inside track on many Saints related topics - I do agree, the biggest wallet is not necessarily in the best long terms interests of our club - at the moment I would just settle for Saints existing next season and preferably run by people who truly have the club at heart - it may not be the popularist view but I would rather the club is owned and run by someone with a perspective of our history and soul rather than by a faceless foreign billionaire who can chose to bale out as easily as they chose to become involved and without any regard for the long term future.

I'm surprised it didn't run the wrong way around the course. Revolutionary new racing circuit.
-
Lisa Riley was a disappointment in comparison
-
It also shows that Wilde didn't know what was around the corner.
-
I was thinking the same! Cue ITK hysteria.
-
I would suggest it came as a complete surprise to the board - Wilde was still on his Fans parliament trip only a few days ago. I wonder if something has happened behind the scenes - perhaps there is an interested party but the existing board were a barrier to anything happening - perhaps Barclays have forced therefore forced the board's hand? It does seem odd over such a small amount after all this time.
-
I think we need to look at a club like Exeter City, run by the fans for the fans. They came out of administration and have built slowly and sensibly. I accept we are a bigger proposition and the circumstances around debt much higher and complicated however if there is no saviour stepping forward then the choices may be to either run it ourselves or let it die.

A sale and leaseback arrangement would be a possibility - given the low interest rates generated at the moment, if the council bought SMS then leased it back to Saints whilst making a tidy ROI then why not - less risky than putting their money in some banks I would imagine and they own the asset.
