If it was that simple you would be laughing. It isn't.

The loan deal has obviously happened, the permanent deal never will. You are going to have to rely on loans to try to paper the cracks and get through the season/stay up. If you do go into admin at least loan players can't be sold.
-
Nothing to do with sensationalism - you need to read the accounts of Portsmouth City Football club and Miland Developments (which is in just a big a mess and part of the group) to get a true picture of where things were to begin with. I believe that they are much worse than you imagine - much higher initial debt than has been published in the papers. The Sky money and the reduction in wages are a step forward but a comparative drop in the ocean - you are not going to be, in my opinion, anywhere near "self sufficiency" yet...or likely to be I am afraid.

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11095_5483684,00.html lol - that is practically the same as saying "you had better sell me now". Would the last one leaving Fratton Park please blow out the candles.

Hopefully very true....I will hold a personal minute's silence if they do, but shout obscenities throughout.

Thanks tac-tics, keep it coming!

Any other little nuggets about other signings and is the Jaidi deal 100% dead?
-
Raynes is 21 but has already made 130 appearances. Centre Back in the Claus mould rather than the Jaidi mould. (Just as an aside, it's nice to be talking about potential signings again not board rooms, shares and takeovers)
-
Raynes was being monitored by Liverpool and WBA according to the player profiles on their official site. Pilkington is a strange one though as he only made his debut in January. http://www.stockportcounty.com/page/ProfilesDetail/0,,10419~32520,00.html http://www.stockportcounty.com/page/ProfilesDetail/0,,10419~43984,00.html

That made me remember I wrote a letter to Football Monthly complaining about the Milos Drzic work permit issue and it got published. I think he ended up at Dunfermline or somewhere and was awful apparently. Wasn't there also a goalkeeper we nearly signed but had the same issue - Ola By Rise or some name like that? Also did we nearly sign Gordon Cowans with Paul Rideout - around the same time that Mark Brennan chose Middlesbrough over us!!
-
Why sign someone with a 50p piece for a head at all?
-
Do you believe him? Genuinely interested.
-
I hope so, the longer it is dragged out the less time they have to do anything before the transfer window closes or find a buyer.

http://www.portsmouthfc.co.uk/?cms_id=78&qs_articleid=2676&qs_media=html Not such good news....or more bull? According to the Skate OS it is still on.
-
I agree, whenever I feel myself leaning towards sympathy, I think back to the Ted Bates minute's "silence".
-
Think you are right but it is a most enjoyable read nonetheless.
-
I suspect that truth be known they will have to take a fee for James and get him off the wage bill and Niemi will be Number 1.

Posted on the Skate thread also on the main board........... http://dralfahim.blogspot.com/2009/08/al-fahim-pulls-out-of-takeover.html

You can still enter a bright new era and improve the marketing you know! I do agree though that many threads have been negative though especially around perceived lack of player signing activity - it was short term-ism that got us into this mess and there are some that seem to demand instant success and signings for signings sake.

http://boards.footymad.net/forum.php?tno=424& Some amusing posts, I particularly like the blinkered fool who thinks that they are one of the clubs in the Prem with the lowest amount of debt. They really should take the trouble to look at the accounts not only of Portsmouth City Football Club but Miland Developments 2004 Limited who are part of the group. And yes, I am enjoying their situation...thoroughly.

Hearts are not exactly Rangers...Rangers are more Ajax and we sold plenty for that one.
-
Only sold 6k-7k for their friendly against Rangers on Saturday apparently, and that includes 2500 Rangers fans!
