  1. I am sure who ever is wheeled out will be "up for it" on Saturday and "determined to put things right for the fans".
  2. Other than that though it was ok?
  3. When is the solent forum? I agree it would be interesting to raise these points and the ones in your original post.
  4. Agreed. He has the demeanour of a man who has only just realised what a huge job he has on - he needs our support, it will take time.
  5. What is worrying is Perry, Thomas and Lancashire are all weak links in defence. Spiderman is too lighweight in midfield as is Lallana. Holmes is left footed so it appears we have option on the right (Thomson only seems to be able to play well against non-league teams). Gobern, White and Patterson are not ready. James is ok at RB but not in midfield, Wotton is not good anywhere. Saga and Rasiak don't want to be here - so what are we left with.....not much. If this was the start of pre-season then Davis, Murty, Harding, Gillett, Hammond, Lambert, Mills are probably the only ones who I would keep (as well as loaning out a few youngsters). unfortunately we are having to have our pre-season in August and into September.
  6. I don't think any of us really fully appreciated what a mess AP inherited and it is going to take weeks and months to sort out. A rudderless squad devoid of confidence (and in some cases ability) coupled with other issues such as no scouting network will take a massive effort and time to sort out. It was an often used phrase during the darkest days but this club really was rotten from top to bottom and that includes the playing staff. Major surgery rquired both on and off the field. Out of the squad picked tonight I think at least 9 need to be shipped out and the same number brought in - barring an immediate open cheque book policy that isn't going to happen before the end of the transfer window so it looks like a transitional season, number one aim survival, number two aim, phase in better players and ship out the dross - build a platform for next season.
  7. I am not sure MLT would really care what the forum oddball thinks anyway.
  8. It depends on how you measure "far bigger" and "failed to achieve" - I would say that is subjective - MLT has said that he achieved everything he wanted to so who are you exactly to make that call? I would imagine there will be many non-Saints fans who will buy the book - I have read plenty of autobiographies of other players. That having been said, it's difficult to find good reading in Parochial Little World, is it easier in Multi Personality Town? I note you still haven't answered my question about asking him direct, you know where he will be, you have the opportunity to put your money where your mouth is so maybe you could have the "courage" or "conviction" to do so?
  9. And what you don't seem to grasp is that for 99% of Saints fans we couldn't give a toss if he is a "legend in sport" or not. He is a Saints legend and that is good enough for us - it is you that seems to have the "issue". I will look forward to your report from Waterstones Basingstoke though - assuming that seeing as you are such a Billy big balls you will be asking him face to face about the extra chapter as you suggested earlier?
  10. The first thing to do is to find out if what the person telling you is true - probably the only way you can do that is to go and have a look yourself. If it is then you could probably give a deadline to the neighbour via a solicitor to remove and put right any changes made. There is a law to do with claiming land that is registered with the land agency (I assume it is?) - but the occupiers would have to serve you notice I think after 10 years of using and maintaining it, then wait a further 2 years during which time you can legally eject them. If the land is not registered and they have been occupying it for 12 years then you may have problems. Look up "adverse possession" on the net as this should help.
  11. I stopped having the MLT debate with fans of other teams some time ago - their lack of appreciation used to annoy me but now if the subject ever arises I don't even to try to justify my postion, I was there, I saw the genius of MLT week in and week out - like many other thousands of Saints fans who saw the same "we just know". 19C you seem to want to mock the perceived "lack of ambition" as a character fault. Give me loyalty over that any day of the week - the fact he didn't go just makes the legend status even greater.
  12. To have given him a 3 year contract was a terrible decision - 12 months and would probably have been released at the end of last season.
  13. We need muscle but by that I mean strong and athletic - not Wotton who is by the way a poor tackler - mis-times so many and always looks good for a straight red.
  14. Disappointing but not surprising. Around 5 new faces needed - 2 x huge CB's, 1 x Tough midfielder, 1 x winger, 1 x striker. Mental and physical strength needed in this division - we have neither in too many of these players. Personally I would ship out Perry, Wotton, Rasiak, Saga, Lancashire, Pulis and Molyneux before the transfer window ends. Some are not good enough others don't want to be here. Question marks over James (as a midfielder), Thomson (never seen him have an impact), Spiderman (not cut out for Div 1 football?) at this level. I still think Thomas is mentally suspect also. Some of these need to be replaced with experienced Championship players with a bit of muscle. A hell of a lot to do in the next couple of weeks - from now until then is effectively the pre-season we never had.
  15. No nor me, quite surprised, thought he was about the same height as Chris Baird.
  16. He is in stature but has a great leap (scored against us with a header...although everybody used to do that). Leeds fans seemed to rate him last year.
  17. As I have said before they have sold £100m worth of players, but that is not enough to repay all the liabilities as they were in the May 2008 accounts. The high wages would have continued to have been paid since so the liabilities would have increased further since then too. I do not think they are anywhere near as debt free as they believe - I have seen some posts on their forum that their debt position "is the envy of many clubs in the Premier League" - I would suggest it probably isn't, neither is their asset base or turnover capability.
  18. Would be good to have more info Bungle on why it is c***, I was about to buy it.
  19. A couple of characters from a Dickens novel.
  20. If you really think he wasn't sacked then you are very naive I am afraid.
  21. Pure speculation picked up from the skate message boards - does have a ring of truth to it though when you look at Storrie's demeanour at their fish fest last night.
  22. All wide players though or at least with a tendency to drift, I think Mellis plays through the centre more and can link up play with the strikers.
  23. Would certainly follow in your long tradition of shady owners - but better than the alternative of administration I guess.
