  1. I agree. We should be good enough to beat teams like Tranmere irrespective of any dodgy decisions. You can't rely on the performance of referees, it is our player's performances we should be looking at.
  2. When he came in he talked about a 5 year plan to get to the Prem. Not sure promotion was ever part of the plan for year one. Good form from October raised hope although in my opinion we have always been just too far off. There is no doubt he is ambitious but you don't get to his position by making rash decisions. 99% of the fan base are realists and therefore behind Alan Pardew - one if the rules of business is don't p*** your customers off. For these reasons there is no way in a million years NC will fire Pardew now. However, promotion is an absolute must next season and the heat will be on, and rightly so, from game one.
  3. Poor result. We can concentrate on the cup now though.
  4. I wish I had a crystal ball. Simply to give the youngsters a taste of first team action, experience, mixing with the first team to see how they prepare etc. Obvious things really.
  5. If the play offs become a mathematical impossibility it would be good to see some of the youngsters given a first team run out for a few games at the end of the season.
  6. Need to adapt to crap pitches
  7. I am concerned that a takeover will result in the loss of this thread and therefore I face the prospect of having to do a full days work again.
  8. As I said, I was referring to info on the skate forums, I can't find anything about it either so not sure where they got it from.
  9. On their boards the consensus is that they forfeit their right to £33 million, payable in one lump sum (rather than the old method of 3 annual payments). I think many queried the figures but it seems that they are correct and were a result of the "new TV deal". It would explain why the major players would not want to go into admin as it is the only way of making some of their money back.
  10. True, ideally they will go into admin and that way lose the parachute money also.
  11. Lifelongafrikaaner?
  12. Out of interest, which forums?
  13. If something sounds too good to be true it normally is.
  14. Speak as you find I suppose but I have always found the ticket office and David Luker to be very helpful and quick to react when there is a problem. I suspect "issues" around booking fees and travel are because we are now being run as a proper business....we have to fund the players we buy somehow.
  15. Indeed, although doing everything they can and being seen to be doing everything they can are two different things. If they are wound up it is irrelevant anyway. If they are assisted then I would hope that the sanctions imposed i.e. point deductions are in line with those dished out to clubs previously. Minus 9 this season and minus 30 next season would be a start.
  16. Sky: The FA, PL and FIFA will do everything they can to keep Portsmouth alive HMRC are doing everything they can to kill them
  17. http://www.fansonline.net/portsmouth/mb/view.php?id=238324 An interesting post on one of their boards. It is speculation...of course....but interesting.
  18. Mick Channon to take over - lol
  19. FFS - Pompey more attractive than Newcastle because of the debt.............err infrastructure.
  20. http://mypompey.com/blogs/goldenboot/archive/2010/02/14/goldenboot-portsmouth-to-be-taken-over-in-next-48hours-by-irish-american-consortium-group-named-by-mypompey.aspx? Hmmm....
  21. If that is true then it is a disgrace and has repercussions for any club who is or has been in debt.
  22. Nor me, just imagine, even if they win they might not get paid.
  23. Probably running with a story about something happening in Kent.
  24. That would be classic...and possibly cause a riot....on balance Nicola please play it.
  25. I think the problem is Jaidi can't play two games in a week.
