It's a pretty natural response to the deliberate transposition (is that a word) of the words " need" and "want" by those with vested interests in order to make political points. Very few people living in Britain today don't have everything they need, but a significant proportion don't have everything they want.

Well nobody else is going to, are they? My take on last night's little debate is that it was a bit like watching a League 2 football match because it was the International break for the proper clubs.

I'm not sure I can agree with that. I think the death penalty is a bit extreme just for getting out of the car. I think it should be reserved to only be used for people that can run faster than the policeman with the gun.

Does anybody use them? I'm considering taking the plunge. I don't want a dedicated reader, like a Kindle. I've got a perfectly good tablet (Sony Xperia) so I want to use that. Looking around, it seems that " Kindle for Android" is the way to go, and then buy the books from Amazon. I'm not looking for freebies. Does anybody go this way? Do the books download onto your tablet? Can you read them when you're offline, or do you have to be connected to read?

I thought the discussion was about whether a crime had been committed, not whether an incident had taken place.

I think they have to let him go when a Champion's League club comes in with a bid for him.

Or maybe, no matter how much you wish for it, he didn't actually break any laws.

Because, to put it simply, discrimination in any form is wrong. I've spent most of the last 20 years in Africa and the Middle East (becoming a citizen of South Africa in the process). I've seen the worst effects of positive discrimination in many places. I don't support racism in any form. But to succeed, 100% of effort needs to be focussed on eradicating negative discrimination. Introducing any form of positive discrimination and claiming that as a measure to combat negative discrimination is both lazy and pointless.
