  1. So there's a clear winner then. Sky news. I had to turn BBC off when Andrew Neil was on. Although they're making a bit of a comeback under their new leader.
  2. Well that certainly vindicates Cameron's decision to ignore the Mickey Mouse TV debates. I can see plenty of empty lecterns next time.
  3. It's a question of degree. The size of the bonuses on offer made ignoring the rules a risk worth taking. The fear of losing your job became obsolete.
  4. It is collected from the consumer by the seller, then passed on to HMRC by the seller.
  5. You're off the point. We're talking about the things they didn't get prosecuted for. I don't disagree with you, but a lot of what went on was only immoral, unethical and reprehensible, but not illegal. Only an idiot would think that the regulatory framework was fit for purpose or that the bonuses post '08 were justified.
  6. Technically Starbucks don't pay any VAT
  7. A bank isn't a person, and gambling isn't a crime, so what do you prosecute? Admittedly rate fixing is fraud, but I think there have been convictions for that.
  8. Which one was which?
  9. Nothing at all. I was wondering why you raised it.
  10. So, when reality finally bites, where will we be? For me Labour blew it. "Vote for me to kick Cameron out of Downing Street" isn't really a policy. So I go for Tories slightly more seats, Labour quite a lot less, SNP more, but far short of all, LibDem about the same, and UKIP no seats. And another five years of Con Lib coalition.
  11. You mean the convention that requres ALL radio communication to be in ENGLISH? And ALL times must be stated in Greenwich Mean Time (even in the good 'ole US of A)? Is that the convention you're talking about?
  12. Do we have to be over 18?
  13. To be fair, I'm not sure if I could handle the stress of getting up every morning wondering whether I would have to plod on drawing my £100k a month salary, or have to settle for the lump sum £500k compensation pay-off.
  14. If we vote Labour, we could get back to a three day week.
  15. Yep. Still the beacon of hope, the model for the bright new future of world football. All those that dug deep to fund those facilities must be proud of what they achieved.
  16. Welcome to my world.
  17. As it says on the tin, and it's live on you tube
  18. Nope. He's the Bishop of Portsea
  19. Buctootim
  20. That, IMO, is the over-riding argument against Proportional Representation. I've lived in countries with PR, and the actual members are just faceless footsoldiers that stick their hands up when and where they're told.
  21. It's probably also worth noting that, for some inexplicable reason, over the past five years our average attendances when we were in the Championship or League 1 were approximately double theirs in the same league. For some strange reason I couldn't come up with any statistics for our average attendances in League 2. Must be a glitch in google.
  22. Bugger. I've had to put another brick under the left hand side of my laptop this morning, to try to keep it level.
  23. Both of them?
  24. And Sturgeon meeting Sarah Millican?
