  1. Not in any way questioning whether you're a fan or not, but I'm wondering why you cite the capacity at St. Mary's as a significant issue. Off the top of my head I would say an extra 5,000 seats would be worth somewhere around one and a half million over a season. I can't see that would make much of a difference.
  2. No, I expect they asked for cash up front.
  3. If you said "iou's" instead of "money" I could go along with that.

That's odd, coz I have this mental image of him getting home from work and jumping straight up onto the mantelpiece backwards.
  5. So your link to Whitey's in your original post is almost as tenuous as your sterling effort to avoid answering my question. Have you considered a career as a politician?
  6. How did he get from Darfur to Johannesburg while at the same time dying from starvation and disease? Do you know how far it is? You're getting a bit mixed up Mikey. I haven't seen a single opinion from anybody on here that would begrudge asylum to a bona fide refugee from Darfur. That isn't who these people are that are invading Calais, sinking in boats or falling out of the sky. Here's a genuine question for you. I listened to an interview on the BBC the other day with middle class people rescued from a sinking boat on the way to Greece. Their story was they had fled from Syria to Turkey then paid somebody to smuggle them to Greece. Didn't they stop being refugees when they reached safety of Turkey? Should they be given a free pass into the EU ahead of the people that are going through the proper visa and vetting process?
  7. What? Never. You mean that hundreds and hundreds of thousands of foreign people can get into Britain every year just by filling in a form and buying a plane ticket? That can't be right, surely?
  8. Welcome to the 3rd world.
  9. I'm at a bit of a loss to understand what it is they're fleeing from in France. Torture? Religious persecution? Long benefit queues?
  10. Just to complete the whole set, I don't think she qualifies as an "heiress" either.
  11. Aaah, the old Mary Whitehouse defence to watching porn.
  12. If you're black or female, get your CV's in sharpish.
  13. I see they also have a page for League 2. I was tempted, but decided to spend the money on a couple of new tyres for my wife's car instead.

And all that for only a fiver a year. Bargain.
  15. Not really. He's just a senile old pensioner with a part-time job.
  16. In my own opinion, she would be less likely to get shot in the back if she would keep the correct change for the pay station at the car park in her handbag rather than a loaded handgun.
  17. I just read the comments and see that he was playing Championship football last season while on loan to Doncaster in League 1. He must have come for the new floodlights.

I won't believe it until I hear it from somebody that knows somebody who knows a player's wife.
  19. I think it's 19 games if we reach the final. That's a lot of Sunday afternoon football.

I reckon somebody switched it on
  21. Yes. They have means of escape issues, so capacity is limited. It relates to some of their staircases, among other things, that don't comply, so it's not just a few plastic seats. They appealed against the restriction last year, but were turned down. I'm not quite sure what kind of thought process motivates somebody to appeal for permission to ignore safety regulations for their paying customers. Or that they actually thought they could get a waiver. I suppose paying for ageing football journeymen is higher up their list of priorities.
  22. Every little helps
  23. I was a bit worried earlier this week when their CEO appeared to be struck down with a very severe case of openness, sometimes also known as transparency or honesty, when he made a public statement that at first appeared to contradict the well-rehearsed propaganda agenda regarding the responsibility to pay for new pitches at their stadium and training ground. It seemed at first sight that such a statement would verify that the Chairman was guilty of telling lies to the fans. Fortunately within 24 hours he was treated with a large dose of lies and cover up It was a close run thing, but it appears that the leak of truth was successfully stemmed before any lasting damage could be done to the season ticket sales. The Chairman's reputation was not affected by the leak.
  24. I saw one of those in London. It was full of business card-sized portraits of young ladies with some sort of number code at the bottom.
