I'm not sure about that. Given the way Portugal played, Fonte was probably more use to them than Stones. He was organising the others, he was focussed, he was disciplined... Stones obviously has more natural ability but if you want to set up to grind out matches and you wan't people who love defending in your team than Fonte is currently a better bet.

A lot of them would obviously improve our squad considerably but in terms of going straight into the starting XI, not many of them are shoe-ins. GK - not much in it. Walker (and Clyne) are better than our current RBs. Personally, I prefer Bertrand to Rose. Centre back - I'd take our two. Obviously Stones has great potential and would be good to have in squad. Centre mid - a very weak area for England. Not sure I would see any of them as an upgrade to the First XI but would obviously improve the squad to have Henderson, Dier or, for example, a fit Wilshire. Upfront, Sturridge on his day is obviously better than any of our strikers but he seems like an absolute tool and can't last a full season. In the wide positions, Tadic is better than anyone who played last night IMO. Probably Boufal is too. The likes of Rashford and Walcott etc. would obviously be great options to have though. That England team is full of pretty average top-flight players.

I think it's largely down to the mini-league status of the matches. If we get through to the next stage I would imagine tickets will sell out quicker.

It's no good unless he does this every match.

I am never sure if you are a caricature on here deliberately or not. For your sake, hopefully it's an act.

"Why are you here if you're a Forest fan?" - conversation.

It's a red football shirt and an interesting talking point. Don't really see the issue.

He's from Nottingham and he's a Forest fan.

It sounds pretty bad. Someone punched him (reportedly), he smacked his head on a metal bar and collapsed later.

We haven't changed the way we play. We have stopped giving away stupid penalties and lazy goals which means we, generally, only need one goal for a win. We didn't score against Be'er Sheva or Leicester. Had we given away a soft goal in either of those games and consequently lost then people would be on here moaning about the "diamond" and over-analysing basic playing errors. We were rusty at the start of the season but now players are finding their form.

Yes, that's basically what happened to me too. Funnily enough, coming the opposite way on Sunday evening took much longer - odd!

Agree with all this. If he can develop a real cutting edge / clinical streak he will be class. He has all the attributes. This is the first time he has played in a good Premier League team, having previously played in the Champ or in the Prem for Birmingham or Norwich. Being around Boufal, Tadic, Van Dijk, Bertrand etc. will help him develop, as will European football. He was a bargain for the price.

No problem. Regards, Claude.

Yeah, I noticed quite a few. Was a surprise to see an IDF uniformed member in there as well belting out "Oh When the Saints"!

It's completely fantastical to say we were "superb". We were adequate. Plenty of players had poor matches with lots of sloppy moments and we made an enforced tactical change after half an hour. It was mid 20s tops by kick off with a pleasant breeze. We were OK and deliberately cagey in the first half. "Superb" is a massive exaggeration.

No, no, no. Only Ali Dia is worse.

I didn't say it was an arduous journey. Simply that I couldn't see the point in going home on Friday only to set off again on Sat. Maybe try to think about what you're reading in the future.
-
I would have thought it would make sense to fly straight to the nearest available airport to Leicester today then stay in Leicester Fri and Sat night. Presumably we are travelling up to Leicester tomorrow anyway so it seems a bit pointless to go back "home" for an evening and cuts out the travel time / fatigue from Saturday. I'm sure the club knows best anyway!

Yeah, it wasnt remotely hostile in the sense of being menacing. It was loud but all good natured.

You might see me on your walk down the beach. I'm the bronzed Adonis in the SFC budgie smugglers.
