  1. Well, the FA have let numerous teams play in the FA Cup whilst insolvent before. I don't think they should, but they do. So Crystal Palace also "got away with it" this season. They are going to suffer all the usual things that an insolvent club suffers. If there is no buyer they will eventually be wound up. If there is a buyer they will not be, and they shouldn't be. Same as us. If there has been any wrong-doing that extends beyond football matters then that's a matter for the relevant authorites to investigate. I think after many years of slumming it in the second division that after a brief spell in the top flight, being sent back down one or two divisions with your tail between your leg and a bleak future ahead is about as bad as it could get. If they get promoted from the CCC next year, or anytime soon, then I might start agreeing with you. But they won't.
  2. They are what, 5 points behind Wolves and Burnley? I think they are playing each other at the wkend? That means, unless there's a draw, they will be 8 behind one of them. So that's 17 points to make up. I think they've managed 19 so far this season? Yes, Hull, Burnley and Wolves are not very good. Neither are Pompey. They were outfought and played by us for 75 minutes. They were outplayed and outfought by Coventry in the previous round. They are not going to go on a run where they win 5, 6, 7, etc in a row. They are rubbish.
  3. Thank you!
  4. No it isn't. They are going to get relegated. They will probably have a points deduction next season. This all tends to a two division relegation. I fail to see how that is "getting away with it", and that's without any detailed analysis of the financial state of whatever exists the other side of administration.
  5. Exactly - good post.
  6. I'm still laughing at nickh saying that Pompey could still stay up with a 9 point deduction
  7. Op: Was that the day when he scored a booming dipping left foot volley? In fact, did he ever do that? Maybe I'm imagining it. It seems odder and odder, curiouser, the more I think about it but I'm sure I saw him do that at Selhurst Park once.
  8. The area around Bradford on Avon is quite beautiful.
  9. I can't believe people are still speculating as to whether they will go down! Surely the only person who thinks they won't is nickh?
  10. You are right. I forgot to add "next season".
  11. Right, and if our current form continues we will probably finish in the top two. If we get a bit better we'll win the league easily. Happy days.
  12. If he hadn't sent the document creating the charge in (ie the debenture) Companies House would not have registered the charge. It's a nailed on certainty that something was sent in and appeared prima facie to create a valid charge. What you are not required to do, however, is to deposit evidence of the flow of any money.
  13. That would take some doing!
  14. I'd if Sol Campbell was somehow on for another bonus. Anyway, they aren't going to win it this year - no Championship passage through the semi and final for them this time.
  15. Feel free to report the posts like you usually do. If you use hyperbole to describe things you will get a more extreme reaction. Using a term that implies something has gone badly wrong about a season which most feel very happy with is liable to be regarded as hyperbole. No one's disputing your right to be so hysterical. Long may it continue.
  16. Sounds like a pelanty (© Chris Waddle) that Mike Riley gave against us at the Walkers Bowl on the opening day of Strachan's last season. Sir Les (I think) jumped in the air and landed awkwardly. They got a pelanty.
  17. Still at least we've got club legends like Mike Channon, MLT and Mark Fry.
  18. Well if that's true they must have better sports psychologists. Grr!
  19. It's completely unacceptable though. I mean we might be showing top 2 form or something (I haven't bothered to look, I stand by my opinion regardless of the facts) but I expect nothing less than complete perfection. If something is not perfect it is evidence of a deep-rooted and fatal failure of some sort or other. Maybe sports psychology, maybe fitness, maybe lack of ambition (again, it doesn't matter whether there is any evidence for this or not, I stand by it regardless). It just depresses me that the world is so full of non-perfect sports teams. I look at Leeds, who overcame adversity and points deductions to be promoted at the first attempt (again, don't let anyone tell you otherwise) and I think "why can't we do that"? Why must we build a squad who occasionally doesn't win away? Why can't we just do what all the other teams do and win every match? Why?
  20. at a blue few crawling back on after a jammy win (offside goal, legitimate goal conceded not given etc) in a League One standard match against a surprisingly poor Brum team and pretending that all is now well.
  21. Agreed!
  22. I remember that! It was one of the League Cup two-leg round matches where we introduced £3 pay-on-the-night. Let's just say I think the official attendance may have been somewhat lower than the actual attendance!
  23. Aren't you thinking of Jo King or Lie Ing?
  24. I remember a disgusting tackle of his on Gus Poyet in front of the East Stand. It was a horrendous, straight-red, leg-breaker. He got booked and Poyet was out for 6 months! Good player though.
