There'a very little difference between the majority of League One teams and the majority of Championship teams IMO.

Yep, he's a quality player. Got every attribute really.

Even as a Saints fan I can appreciate that that was a fecking funny own goal.
-
Agree. Seen them a few times this year and they've not been too bad. Tonight they look like they can't be bothered anymore. Which isn't too surprising really!

Best played pretty well at Pride Park.

Yes, Juventus too now I think about it more...? They certainly spent a year in Serie B for some reason anyway.

NC has said publically that the investment has not come from any debt. He was quite clear that there is no debt so whether that's "evidence" or not is up to you, but I suggest he would look somewhat silly if it was untrue.

Marseille and Parma both got severely hammered by their respectice FAs for financial naughtyness and obvioulsy Luton got large penalties for irregular payments to agents (I think?).

If you spend more than you make, you either: a) continue to incur increasing amounts of debt; or b) are dependent on the goodwill of people. I doubt anyone disputes we are spending more than we make. Given the club denies (a), it is obvious that (b) applies. I have no problem with (b) applying as Mr Liebherr seems great (!) and is also improving the infrastructure of the club (which is decent anyway) and seems to have a long-term vision. It is still quite prudent though, for us lot to recognise that (b) is the position we are in.

I was championing Tyson in the summer. Would be a really good signing.

I think this is right. I think Pompey have finally been recognised by the wider media as the nasty, unsavoury cess-pit of a club it is.

Ban all alcohol. It should be illegal; it's far more destructuve than smack, cake or clarky cap. Either that or make all drugs legal.

We got into trouble because of cashflow problems due to wages. If you think we're operating a wage bill commensurate with long-term League One status then I suggest you're mad. I don't happen to think it will be a problem as we will probably get promoted and Liebherr is happy to finance it but if he stops we would see the urgent need to prune the wage bill again. So, it's a perfectly valid line of enquiry but not an immediate concern IMO.

All company accounts filed are available from Companies House to anyone with the inclination to get hold of them!
-
This is untrue. All companies must file accounts.

That's a ridiculous comment. Don't you think it's worth considering these things?

I was listening to 6-0-6 last night. A Spurs fan called in and was stating how impressive Spurs financials were and that being run as a business rather than a status symbol or a fan's dream was the way forward. Gabriel Marcotti said, "well, let's see how your finances look after another 12 months of Redknapp!"

Law - are they? Abhorent - I find ignorant nonsense abhorrent but I support your right to write it on here. Wiltshire Saint has summed up your position in a nutshell.
-
No. Very intelligent.
-
I agree, but it's completely arbitrary and hypocritical when you support equivalent practices.

you missed, "to me", from the end of your final sentence.

WTF has "staple diet" got to do with a anything? You keep banging on about it but it's completely irrelevant. We could all have a staple diet of rice and vegetables and be quite happy. No idea why you keep harping on about staple diets. Also, why can't some people in a culture have a different staple diet than others? I bet George Burley has a different staple diet than some other football managers. Boo!

Seriously, what on earth does this mean?
