I think we may have been "let off" not having a CVA because we did have an agreement acceptable to the creditors, albeit not a CVA in name. Again, I may be wrong though. The requirement for a CVA is not a "gold-plating"; CVAs are genuinely **** and often not adhered to. They are seldom good news for creditors. The rules of the FL are purely designed to ensure that some sort of minimum standard of creditor satisfaction is encouraged IMO. If a Swiss billionaire turns up and says "here's a load of cash" and the creditors say "thanks, that is fine" then the notion of a CVA is a bit redundant as the PLC was not continuing to trade; its assets were sold off to Lieberr.

We did not have a CVA. A CVA is a means of exiting adminstration. SLH PLC did not exit administration. I think. Actually, thinking about it, I'm not sure.

Are you still discussing this? Really?

Long raking balls to the opposition full-back?

So many sanctimonious tossers around.

If you take the "s" off and put an "a" before "decade" you would be about right.

Deano, I think you speak for all of us on this. Under normal circumstances one might be forgiven for thinking that Wiltshire Saint was some sort of joker but I've actually seen him in the Plume muttering to himself about "stupid ******* posters" etc... Unbelievable!

Don't beat yourselves up. By my reckoning you would need to sell out a 74,563,000 stadium to sustain Storrie's expert stewardship.

Oh, furry muff. If she did say that then you're quite right to put her straight.

Why are you obsessed with the likelihood of death on a job being a relevant factor? I don't think anyone involved in this has ever referred to the likelihood of death being anything whatsoever to do with this dispute.

I agree that it is hard, but that's football now. Clubs like the Skates cannot afford to carry on as though they are a Premiership team when they clearly lack the capability to be so without spending wildly beyond their resources. Alternatively, they can do so and recognise that insolvency and sporting sanctions is the likely outcome and not belly-ache like imbeciles when it happens.

I just wish some people would calm down a bit. There is obvioulsy a reason for the later-than-average sales. It is not some sort of whacky conspiracy. Given that just about everything associated with the new owners has, so far, been good I am perfectly happy to assume that this will also be for a good reason.

Maybe their database was wrong. Imagine that eh?

Yeah, this lack of two staggered payments of £250 is going to ruin so many lives.
-
Why do you say that? It is completely untrue of 99.9% of businesses which either cover their own costs (ie make a profit - fancy that!) or use debt. The simple fact is that, absent a very rich sugar daddy, clubs with a nineteenth centruy infrastructure and minimal fan base can not afford, generally, to be genuinely competitive in the top division any more for any sustained period. This is why it is good for everyone that you have been relegated.

Exactamundo. 100% spot on.

I agree completely with regards to those who have called for some sort of means-based test. When you hear the pundits saying the Pl/FA should have to check that owners have the money it's usually someone like Claridge, "Spoony" or Bright who, whilst being able to talk a bit about football, lack the basic intelligence to follow that idea through and see how stupid and shortsighted it is.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1280613/BA-cabin-crew-strike-ahead-catastrophic-breakdown-talks.html Does that bottom picture of Mr Simpson make anyone else feel sick? EDIT: I meant the last one of the main bunch. There is another fairly galling one later too.

You can have a good laugh with them if you get talking though. Some of the stuff they come out with...

All the ****s in that ****ing Halifax spoof radio advert. So punchable

Yeah, what a bunch of fecking morons. Oh look, the same gang of girls in a bar. Oh look, the same gang of girls in a different bar. Oh look, the same gang of girls in someone's lounge before going to a bar. Oh look, the same gang of girls in the street between bars. **** off, just **** off.

I may do a tennis thread later.

have been mentioned a few times on the bees thread. I am not one of those oddballs who will pick up and cuddle spiders that they find in their house, however I do find these creatures strangely compelling even if some of them are horrendous to look at. It's a sort of macabre fascination I guess. A voyeurism of sorts. It's interesting.

That's a shame because I am informed that a badger will clear out a bees' nest.
