I'm sure they are being penalised financially in interest, charges etc. Another reason, apart from the shameful morality of it, that any decent business would pay their bill if they could. The fact that PFC are negotiating is not indicative of solid and savvy business acument, it's indicative of an inability to pay.

He was cheap, available and there was a player going in the opposite direction. I'm not saying FF "made it up", I just find it implausible and therefore suspect he maybe wrong for some reason. He didn't dive, he just fell over, if you like. That season we signed numerous ****e players with little first team English league experience. Therefore I don't think we need a conspiracy to explain the signing of Pulis.

We had inept owners but there was no sense of mystery as to where our money was coming from (not that there was any!). We were a PLC registered in England and Wales. All above board. Rubbish, yes. Dodgy, no.

Good one. I like it. Even the Northam mongs should be able to remember that one!

Southend's defending of the corner was appaling anyway so screw 'em! We were 2 against 1 following the short corner, the first header was unchallenged and the defenders didn't react at all. Fair play to Trottman (who won me £66 with that goal! )

Saints 2009/10 would comfortably beat Saints 2008/09

I wish we still had Jimmy Belmadi. He would take the **** out of players in this league and would work well in our current system. -
Lol - sure it's "just business". It's a well recognised practice not to pay your tax bills but to try to stagger overdue payments over time. That's what good businesses do. They don't pay their taxes on time.

I hope Redknapp's Spurs stuff them next weekend. They lurch from one unsavoury regime to the next and, frankly, epitomise everything to be disliked in modern football. May they rot.

Sadly not, I have ear/gland ache so decided not to have a beer tonight.

Is it because other teams have poor sports psychology or is it our supreme fitness?

Get in!!!! £2 on Trottman first goal. That's £66 thanks (ps was bricking it for a bit there!)

Can't wait for people with some intellectual capability to pick up the reins again instead of the present dimwitted, aspiration-bereft charlatans.

I wonder whether it will be Schneiderlin or Hammond who will get forward more than the other?
-
Does it? Maybe it shows that success provides stability.

Well, you would if I had not already!

You should all listen to Radio 5 Live. It's rather good.

I don't think anyone can blame Surman for moving to Wolves. He had a chance to prove he could cut it in the Prem and he had several seasons of regular league football behind him - he would have been mad not to give that a go. If it doesn't work out he can drop back to the CCC where he clearly is a decent player. Personally, I don't think he's good enough to play as a winger in the Prem and I don't think he's good enough to play centre mid unless he has an exceptional partner alongside him. I think it's a different situation to the likes of Bale or Walcott who arguably moved too early in their development (Bale in particular, who is in danger of squandering one of the most prodigious natural talents I have seen in a Saints player).

Those two were utter....

I think it's not so much the suggestion that Pardew has to deliver some tangible progress by Christmas (which I have every confidence that he will do) that riled people, it's the positioning of the statement alongside clubs who have sacked their manager therefore implying that Pardew deserves to be in the same category of "under threat" manager. If we didn't have the minus 10 we would currently be about 15th in the league I think and only 6 points off the play-off spot, whilst also moving in the right direction and conitnuing to add good players to the squad. If people had been asked if that was acceptable during the summer, I'm pretty sure that 99% would have said "yes" which is why the conflagration of Pardew's position with that of Barnes etc.. is a complete nonsense.

TBH they probably just copied the 442 one or looked at a Wiki page which referenced the 442 one. We are off people's radar at the moment...I don't think we will be in a couple of years though!

It would make more sense to have c. 27,000 temporary seats.

Anyone been sacked for having a pint yet?
-
Some people didn't believe this and it caused a strop.

Both are clearly decent managers that we were/are lucky to have in the respective situations we were/are in. I just thank our lucky stars we don't have Lowe around any more to scupper their efforts.
