  1. Oh, I agree it's a good idea - don't get me wrong. It's just funny that we're a virile source of stock given how sheeeeiiiite we've been for the last few years.
  2. So another instance of loaning a fringe player out to a team higher up in the League! We really are the Santa of the lower leagues aren't we!?
  3. Aggghhhh!!!! It's too painful. I lasted three seconds until the chap said "Rupert Lowe" and then I had to turn it off. Why did you do that!?
  4. Where is Gobern, hadn't realised he'd gone? (sorry I'm being lazy, I'm sure this information is easily found on the OS!) Gobern has real potential IMO.
  5. I've emailed them to similar effect. If enough of us do then maybe they will!
  6. Oh, bummer TBH at least you were spared Dave Merrington's "observations"! "Saints will be wanting to score a goal now" "I just feel it's important not to concede" "It's vital to win the game" etc.
  7. I've found it pretty good (Dave Merrington excepted!). It only drops out if I'm doing something else on t'internet at the same time and even then only briefly with no need to reconnect. I'm not so far away and I do have a pretty decent bb connection though.
  8. Brilliant! I hope SFC price this really cheaply now though as I fear the attendance could suffer as a result of the broadcasting of the game. £3 for ST holders. £8 for anyone else. Under 18s free with an adult ticket holder, otherwise all concessions £4.
  9. I think that's about right. The key is to maintain the objective view of Saints as a well-run, well-supported, financially powerful club that is bound to get promoted from this league at some point soon. If we do that we will continue to be able to sign the likes of Connoly, Jaidi, Lambert, Waigo and we will get promoted at some point soon!
  10. If I went back to my mate's house after matches at the Dell we would invariably pop down to St James' Road to pick up "The Pink". Like an earlier poster, I was amazed how quickly they turned it round!
  11. The guy's not a youngster any more and needs to nail down a first team spot somewhere. Hammond has basically ended his chances of doing so with us and it is clear that AP is not mad keen to keep him. I do wish him all the best as he contributed well last season and clearly has a decent attitude.
  12. No, but I started to come down with this on Friday afternoon. Saturday was awful (bad ear aches, really sore throat). Yesterday was better. Today the ear is nearly back to normal but the sore throat continues and I have symptoms more akin to a bad cold.

I agree. I was trying to prompt some debate. I should have been a bit more subtle; I was borderline trolling! My council tax does **** me off though. £182 per month and they can't even collect my rubbish weekly.

    Fair point!
  15. But the nationals don't have a clue about Pompey do they? They are just nasty, awful people who wish to rake mud when really all is great.

If I use private health and private education why on earth should I pay tax to prop up the NHS or the school system?
  17. I feel like ****.
  18. Three for one on this beuaty: Waiiiiiggoooooo, Waiiiiii-aaayy-iiiigoooo Papa come and he score some goal. Hey Mr Lallana, Adam La-Lallana Lallana come and he score some goal. Not one, not two, not three, not four Ricky come and he score some more.
  19. I think it's pretty good value as a current Soton exile. I would happily pay £1 per match to listen to live commentary. Given that it costs about £4 a month and that we will usualy have more than 4 matches in a month I think it's excellent. If I lived in the Solent catchment area I wouldn't bother as you can see the goals on the Beeb and the extra footage is nice but not really worth paying for.
  20. Exactly it is manifestly clear that either: a) these stories are all wrong and all is rosey in the Pompey garden; or b) the stories are in some part true even if the details might not be quite right and there certainly has not been a big cash injection (and probably won't be soon). The more I think about it, the more I think they've been Fialkad.
  21. It will be interesting to see what happens in January if we have maneouvered ourselves into a position where the objective onlooker would consider us serious promotion candidates (whether through the play-offs or otherwise). If so one would think we would be able to attract some really good additions to supplement the squad, possibly even from our League One rivals. If we can sign the likes of Jaidi, Lambert and Connoly when bottom of the league, who's to say we won't snap up Beckford/Jackson etc. when we look like promotion candidates?
  22. Sign of a good squad! (I agree, 'tis odd. We would be distinctly underwhelmed if we were Donny fans. On reflection, it's a bit like Smith last year - wasn't he on loan from Milwall?)
  23. Give me a mega-rich European industrial dynasty any-day of the week!
  24. Link not working..... something fishy going on??!
  25. But those posts would be entirely reasonable. With the resources available, a failure to imporve by Christmas would represent an utterly lamentable performance. That's not a rabid knee-jerk AP out campaign at all. In any case, we're doing fine and I think 99% of people are very happy with AP, so let's all just enjoy that!
