Bizarre isn't it?! Spending 91% of turnover on player wages and then not being able to find a billionaire to finance that. Yeah, truly unique. No club ever financed player wgaes on the never-never.

I expect that is exactly what has happened. Couldn't get any answers from Faraj so decided to get his feet under the desk and have a look himself. The next few days are pivotal for the future of PFC. Will Chanrai give the thumbs up or the thumbs down?!

You don't become personally liable for a company's debt simply because you own the company. This seems to be a common misconception round here.

Saintsweb Prediction Fun-What happens to Pompey in court?
benjii replied to PaulSaint's topic in The Lounge
Standard practice to take a legal charge over a share holding by way of security. He has exercised that charge and is now the owner of the shares (subject to any dispute about whether the right to exercise the charge arose). My guess is that he doesn't have a definite plan. My guess is that he leant the money without the full knowledge of the situation he would have liked to have had in retrospect (apparently not knowing about the PL's right to withhold tv money for example). He has been trying to get to the bottom of the club's finances but has found Al Firage to be unresponsive. As a final throw of the dice he has exercised security so he can get his feet under the desk, have a look at the finances and decide what to do. He may conclude there is no point doing anything or he might decide it's worth keeping the life-support on. Just a guess and devoid of conspiracy theories involving Gaydamak but it seems to fit the "known" facts. EDIT - what is interesting is that a company can refuse to register a new owner of shares. If they genuinely do dispute Chanrai's right to do this then things could get very messy indeed. -
Think I might play: ------------------KD----------------- JO-------Fonte-----Seabourne-----Mills Antonio-------MS----PW-------Puncheon ---------Barnard-------Waigo-----------

On the contrary, I don't know why he is so late! If you were going to make a move then surely you should do it during or at the start of the transfer window in order to actually raise some cash. Now all he can do is look to the debt market, put private money in or try to convince the other creditors to hold-fire. Mind you, it is hard to explain the goings on at PFC with any sort of rationality.

This is not true. HMRC have no greater rights than the person who supplies the half-time oranges. Administration will only happen if a secured creditor with the right to appoint an administrator does so. If they were going to, they would probably have done it during the transfer window, you would've thought. If they are liquidated then, yes, essentially everything is for sale and that's that. It's really hard to predict anything though because when you're predicting you have to start with assumptions. Things like: 1) the directors are acting rationally; 2) the directors are acting or want to act in accordance with the law; 3) the people purporting to own the company do own the company; 4) the company isn't owned by an exiled criminal... etc.

Small matter of Villa first for Palace and Fulham for Notts C but yeah, we could beat either!

If only we had Hoddle to keep us up.

Not sure why people bang on about the cup. They beat the likes of Preston, WBA and Cardiff to win it (and only scraped through against them). Any Prem or decent CCC team could have done that. The only difficult match they had was Man U and they won that through massive luck not through overspending. They did not buy the cup. They bought 8th place.

Put your number on here Stuuey and someone might send you a nice one

FFS people. We're talking about a few pence each. It will not help! It will be the biggest ****-take ever. How would you have felt if they'd done it to us last season? You'd be completely gutted!

Sorry guys, haven't read the thread so the chances are I'm repeating something someone has said but for what they're worth, here's my thoughts on the match!... Seabourne - very impressed. Much better on the ball than I expected and looks like a good acquisition. Jaidhi may still be a better defender but I can see some sense in playing Seabourne alongside Fonte against a team like Stockport as Seabourne offers more in the way of distribution and these two have the makings of a formidable pairing next season. In fact our defence next season could be very good indeed if we sort out the RB slot, which leads me on to.... Semi - early days so won't slate him but I haven't seen anything to make me think he's better than James or Thomas. In fact I'd say Thomas is a much better defender on yesterday's evidence. JO seems to switch off mentally which leads to him standing off people or being caught out of position. He's fast but that's the only real attribute I saw. Hope he improves. Midfield - Antonio was our best player and Holmes was decent. Wotton tried to drive us on in the first half when most players looked half asleep. Morgan was great once we scored but innefectual before then. Papa - what an impact. Why this guy hasn't played more is a complete mystery to me. He is not a League One standard player. Much better than that. Barnard - Reminds me a bit of Ormerod. Missed a good chance with a header and will be disappointed not to have scored but I thought his movement was pretty good and he makes himself available in front of the defender well which should help reduce our tendency to lump it to Lambert. The performance wasn't great but we won and kept a clean sheet which I guess is all that matters. Will need to play much better than that though in the coming weeks.

Puncheon Signs 3 1/2 Yr Contract at Saints

Wotton / Hammond -- Schneiderlin / James Waigo/Ant----------Lallana------------Puncheon ------------------Lambo------------------ Looks good to me! -
Are you people all a bit silly? It wouldn't help them one jot. It would be the ultimate ****-take. It should happen.

A properly organised bucket collection and a giant cheque would be just about the funniest thing in football (apart from PFC that is).

Oh Christ, not one of these threads.
