It's a perfectly fair (and some might even dare to venture, interesting) point to note that there are clubs in the lower leagues that are much "bigger" than a lot of clubs in the Premiership. That sort of scattergun approach would run the risk of earning yourself a reputation as a timewaster. It would also irk a player somewhat when the deal suddenly goes cold because it looks like something is going to happen elsewhere only to be resurrected again when that one falls through.
