  1. Presumably your hopeful suggestion that he 'dies really well' was merely a Freudian slip, however your other suggestion that this move is good for Juve could be right as the DE have quoted the Juventus OS as saying that the 19 million Euro fee would be payable over three years. Effectively, around 6 mill euros a year to us, which should be very affordable to them for a striker still rated very highly in Italy. Sounds like we have structured the deal to encourage them to buy and we are happy to clear our outgoings on this, even if over time.
  2. Surely this would be the ideal time to flog Osvaldo to Wet Spam? Same price as for Carroll and everyone's happy ...
  3. If #lowlyportsmouth do indeed crash into that football league formerly known as the 'Blue Square', is that the moment that the property development sharks masquerading as saviours will step in and sell/redevelop fatpipes and send the alleged football team that plays there to groundshare at some smaller venue more suited to their diminished status? Clearly this is a decision that will NOT be made by the majority shareholders ....
  4. Of course, that sort of money would pay for half the cost of the proposed stadium renovations .... just saying, like.
  5. It's blue, it's square The skates are heading there Blue Square, Blue Square ... #lowlyportsmouth
  6. But, he can come here and discuss the world's problems in his mother tongue with his very own boyhood hero in the refined surroundings of the New Forest, or he can go 'oop north' and be yelled at in Moyes sweatyjock lingo that even we can't understand, let alone some bloke from Argentina. This is surely a no contest, which we must win? ...
  7. Poch says no intention of signing any players in this window, in theory. However, 22 days to go and things may possibly change in that time. Make of that what you will ...
  8. Any rock star aged 27 ....
  9. Well, they did win and are NFC East champs and play NO at the Linc next saturday night at 8.10pm local time. But it was close, even though the Eagles were never headed. Dallas kept on coming and inside the two minute warning with the score at 24-22 they were driving to get within field goal range and you could just see them kicking it with seconds left and winning it at the death ... when up stepped Brandon Boykin to pick off Orton and win the game for the Iggles .. Yeah! Kudos also to Cary Williams for his textbook spoil on the two point conversion attempt which would have tied the scores. That was just THE most intense game with so much on the line and such an emotional rollercoaster for fans of both teams, but from a Philly perspective there is a very perverse joy in being crowned Div champs in that particular city!
  10. Wasn't like this in Dowies's day. That's all ...
  11. There you are, I've done you a favour and found a way to get Gazza out of the club for you ...
  12. Swap him for Gazza + Billy Sharp ... Adkins should be happy with that.
  13. I get your disdain for Gazza, but due to injury we are left with a choice of third or fourth choice keeper and that's not a good position to be in and no one in their right mind would throw Cropper to the wolves, Gazza has considerable league experience compared to him. If Cropper played I would fear for your ticker TBH. Due to regulations we are unable to fix this problem until 1st Jan and I do hope we have someone lined up to come in on that day for reasons that, yes, Gazza is making abundantly obvious.
  14. You certainly have to wonder about that and his substitutions today probably cost us the match, hence my suggestion he was perhaps making a point to NC about how bare bones we are. Poch has been good for us overall though and has got truly unlucky with the injury list he now has to cope with, just as we play all the best teams. Clearly, it would be madness for NC to even think about axing him at this juncture.
  15. Can only assume that Poch is making a point (despite what he says) to NC that squad must be improved in January. Would be an insult to the Championship to say our defence today should play there. Okay, it was basically a reserve defence but lose starters to injury and that is all we are left with. This league has long since left Jos, Fox and Gazza behind and for that matter possibly Rickie too. The quality of opponent is simply beyond them and it would be pointless to wait until after the WC before strengthening. If we never had an injury we could win this league (maybe), but that doesn't happen and most of our second tier players don't belong in the PL. The top teams (who we are trying to emulate) certainly do have quality in reserve and can ride out periods such as we are having, whereas we cannot. On the bright side, I assume Poch is no longer being considered for the Spurs job ....
  16. Think Vick has probably played his last game in midnight green TBH. Will be surprised if Foles is not the starter next year, but he is young and not the finished article yet. The Iggs and Dallas appear in a race to see who can throw away a finals spot first. That was a poor result at Vikes, they seemed to stuff up everything possible and ended up fighting among themselves, although with DJax that's almost normal. Next week v. Bears is a must win and then a probable winner take all in Dallas. Hope they learnt the lessons from yesterday, perhaps need some artificial snow at the Linc for next week ...
  17. Yeah, around six minutes to play third Q I don't think we had anything (field goals not viable in this game), but then it all clicked and the Iggles looked more like the Flyers from then on! Think it would have been a new NFL record for points scored in a quarter if Brent Celek had walked over the line for a final TD, but he slid short just to run down the clock and make sure of victory. That's five in a row for the surging Eagles and the Cowgirls lost at a frigid Chicago overnight, so all good news really. Win the last three and progress as division champs! Chip Kelly doing a great job with this team and Nick Foles playing like a winner.
  18. No problem, just play the game in Philly in a raging blizzard and the Iggles will skate through. Just saying, but Shady McCoy looks a walk up start for 'Disney on ice', having just blown away the late, great Steve Van Buren's 1949 Eagles record for yards rushed, in a game played in 8 inches of snow!
  19. Looks like Claude Greengrass has got himself involved in more dodgy dealings, going by this picture ...
  20. Will that involve meeting a dog in Monte Carlo, by any chance?
  21. Surely, he means 'Barmy Army'? ....
  22. Tokes, you nailed it in one with this clip. For me this is THE definitive version of our song and I wrote on a thread some time ago that they should play this on the big screens at SMS on game days. Who wouldn't want to sing along to this, it swings like crazy and is just superb playing by all involved and how good is Jewel Brown on this! The Louis Armstrong All Stars .. classic stuff.
  23. So, this plucky new nation in waiting has a first minister named Salmond and a deputy first minister named Sturgeon, eh? Not sure this will work out, you know. It all sounds a bit fishy to me .....
  24. Comments from a couple of desperate skates (or nutjobs) on that snooze article ... 'That's the biggest gates at FP this season then' and ' Why don't they move them to our goal line, stop us conceding four goals at least'. LOL
  25. The Panto season comes early this year > "He's behind you", "Oh no he's not", "Oh yes he is, Artur"....
