  1. This works for me as well. We need to take advantage of Austin's finishing in front of goal and Tadic is our best provider. He works well with Bertie down the left channel and we need some creativity, especially with CA to aim for.
  2. If you get offered Maradonna and Riquelme and the operator of the scheme has a PO post code, then you will know you have done your dough ...
  3. Well, it didn't do the Harlem Globetrotters any harm, they are still unbeaten!
  4. More chance of us signing Charlie Chaplin, I would have thought ...
  5. Is'nt that the definition of a troll Steve, and how do you feel about such posts on here?
  6. Club twitter quotes Ron saying that Mane returned late with a small ankle problem. Hopefully not too bad as he is on the bench.
  7. Made me laugh back in the day. These days even our own Benny Hill would probably be banned.
  8. RIP Warren Mitchell. Sadly, Alf Garnett has muttered his last "silly old moo".
  9. So, this could result in a big Depay day for us, then?
  10. A person of impeccable character who has performed three provable miracles and is then canonized by the Pope. Hth ...
  11. In view of the bespoke option this might be an opportunity for a version of the Keegan shirt or even the sash, something to give us our own identity. Hard to do that with stripes.
  12. Yes, the Man U of the NFL. Isn't their owner best buddies with the NFL Commish? There must be a lot of money in Boston as their teams are seemingly untouchable.
  13. NFL season has started with a win for the Pats v Steelers. Brady proves a point that he can throw footballs with any amount of air inside. News and views from around the NFL welcome here.
  14. Maybe there is a reduced budget, but I thought we still had that big team bus ....
  15. This is what everyone seems so worried about WC, they all think signing Clasie would make him a little import. That is the problem, you see ...
  16. No, but Luongo is an example of how A league players can circumvent the WP rules in many cases. Therefore, we can scout in Oz with a decent chance of getting players in if we want to sign them.
  17. Of course, many Australian players have European heritage and are eligible for EU passports, probably hence so many playing around Europe much of the time. An example, and one we might look at is Massimo Luongo at Swindon. He has an Indonesian father and an Italian mother, so presumably will be playing as an Italian. He was named player of the tournament at the recent Asian Cup which Australia won on home soil. He is an AM with an x-factor and really showcased his skills in that tournament. Not sure how he does for Swindon but would be expecting him to move on to bigger and better things this summer.
  18. It will be a shame to see Campbell Forsyth hang up his boots after all these years, but Eric Martin should be okay or even young Gerry Gurr perhaps. However, should those two not work out I did notice in the BBC gossip roundup today that some paper thought Tim Krul would be leaving Newcastle this summer. I immediately put two and two together and decided he must be our next keeper (sorry Eric and Gerry) because, well, he is Dutch ... Right?

    Mane

Mane is the new Eriksen ....
  20. TBH the real answer must surely be Nigel Adkins. From the bottom of L1 to the PL in consecutive seasons was more than we could have dreamed of and we could not possibly be where we are today without Adkins contribution. Beyond that SRL most important player and going forward SRK* may become the most important signing in club history as we head towards the uncharted stratosphere of football. SRK* ... Don't worry the Queen can still knight foreigners ( I think!).
  21. Good idea that ... It stops the players from escaping.
  22. Indeed, someone will have Depay a lot if they want to sign Memphis, that's for sure ...
  23. Surely not? Oh come on now, you're Putin me on ...
  24. According to Connor Armstrong in his blog of his tour of the new facilities, the 'Markus Liebherr Pavilion' sign on the outside of the new building is in the exact same font (no, not Jose!) as the official Liebherr company font. Make of that what you will ...
  25. When Toby signed he did an interview in which he said that AM have a first option recall clause before our option to buy clause. Logic suggests they would want to exercise that option if only to get an auction happening for a very good player, especially as our buyout price is relatively cheap. From our point of view we would presumably be wanting to tie this up promptly to avoid getting trampled in the rush of Brenda clones if it does go to a summer auction. Therefore, we may well agree to pay more than the option price to try and tempt AM into selling early. All this presumes Toby wanting to stay with us, of course. Also, I am sure we found last year that season long loans can be converted to full transfers at any time without the need to wait for a window? Not sure how this relates to buying from foreign clubs, though.
