No, only two in a win.

What you haven't considered is that players we bid for may have turned us down. Crystal Palace say we bid for Danns (and the clubs agreed a deal) but he decided not to leave, presumably because he didn't want to drop a division.

Mainline to Brentford or tube to South Ealing.

I was at the match and although not a great performance I don't think the new defence will ship half as many goals as in the first half of the season. Thought Fonte and Seaborne were very solid, but the problem was the defence had way too much to do because the midfield never got hold of possession for long periods. We will miss Hammond and we need at least one more ball-playing midifielder. Felt sorry for Lambert, who had no support, and for Holmes who got some decent crosses in only to find no one in the box. Anyone who thinks Millwall should have won 3-0 is joking. Yes, Davis made three good saves (the follow up was offside anyway) but that's all he had to do. A draw was a fair result.

It's actually a final (southern area), not a semi-final, but that still doesn't make it any more attractive apart from the possible trip to Wembley. I would hope we will have more for the league game there (in March) than for this.
-
If that. If it was a league game or the FA Cup I would definitely go, but as it's only the JPT I'm not bothering. Spent my money on a Millwall ticket instead (a longer journey for me). But I will go to Wembley if we get there! That would be a good day out with no pressure as it doesn't really matter if we lose.

For those nostalgic Saints some 1980's action.

I was also at all those games (and the 3-0 at Leeds that PhilB mentions above) - great memories. Charlie George ran that game at St Andrews - an awesome display. -
I doubt that.

Outperforming Saints? Saints W9 D8 L5 Pts35 Huddersfield W10 D5 L7 Pts35 Swindon W9 D7 L4 Pts34 (played 2 less games) Hardly outperforming, is it?

I think you mean pedants!

Sorry to bring this back to football, but wasn't the Steau home leg 1-1? Kevin Phillips scored.
-
Actually, it was Steve and not Graham that poleaxed the Ipswich fan.

Early eighties, away to Bobby Robson's very good Ipswich team. Last game of the season, needing a win to qualify for Europe. 3-0 up after 25 minutes - mayhem on the terraces! 3-2 by half time but held out for the win. Also memorable for a Graham Baker volley into the crowd that knocked out a mouthy Tractor Boy on the terrace below us. Quality.

I assume this is meant to be a joke based on the Ted Bates statue fiasco.

They were stood nearby me at Northampton. Seemed to find themselves highly amusing. No one else did.
-
I wouldn't include Keegan because he was only with us for two seasons, but agree with all others and would add Lawrie Mac.

Lost first leg 1-0, WON second leg 3-2, lost play-off on penalties. You can't lose a match when you score more goals than the opposition!
-
No, the reasons they miss are because they don't practise enough to make it second nature. (Do that and the pressure factor isn't relevant.) Or, in Defoe's case, because he hit it straight down the middle.

lol

Probably because he's a cheapskate and it was £1 instead of £3. I'm even cheaper and found free parking on an industrial estate.

But is he? Nicola says on the OS, 'I would like to underline that at this point the costs for this project are fully funded within our operating budget. The Club remains debt free.'. I take that to mean the funds are coming from within the club's income and not from Markus.

No worries. There is a walkway from the station straight to the away end.

Not true. Saints played the best flowing, passing football I have seen (in 35 years of watching) in the eighties and have rarely reached those standards since.

I was also at Blackburn and thought there was a good turnout for a Friday night match live on the BBC. It's a bit misleading to say we only finished three points behind Liverpool and, therefore, just missed out on the title, because we played our last three matches (all away, I think) after Liverpool had completed their fixtures. Still it was a great season. Have to agree that Worthington was not as good as some people seem to suggest he was. A few more goals from his shirt and it may all have been very different.
