I'd be gobsmacked if Brighton have any interest in Russell. Unlike us, they are currently well run, with consistently very good managerial and player recruitments. Why would they have the slightest interest in a rigid, stubborn, mid-table Championship nobody who is incapable of getting his teams to defend properly, and seriously underachieving with one of the strongest squads in the division?

If we'd finished third having given Leeds and Leicester a good run for their money, finishing a few points behind them, we'd be disappointed but would have few complaints, especially if they both finish on 100 or more points. Have another look at your notes: we're in the Championship, a massive drop off in quality from the PL. Not that I'm defending Jones, he was an appalling manager. Unfortunately his successors RS and RM are not much better, which is a damning indictment of Ankersen and his SR team.
