  1. A formal complaint should also be made to our club about the suicidal passing around the penalty area.
  2. And he has no real incentive to change. SR foolishly extended his contract before the season started, so he can say to himself sod it, the worst that can happen is I’ll get a juicy payoff if I’m sacked. He still had a couple of years left on it so why didn’t they wait before extending it?
  3. I remember that well. A colleague at work followed English football ("soccer" here in the States) and had an annual bet with me that Saints would go down. Anyway, before that match he asked me "what's the difference between Saints and a cocktail stick?" "I dunno, what's the difference?" "A cocktail stick has two points!" Oh how I laughed. Not.
  4. I think the 4 vs 5 at the back thing is a bit of a red herring. It's the tippy tappy, pedestrian, possession-obsession, suicidal playing around the back when 4 or 5 PL-level attackers are breathing down your neck that is the problem. Every fan and their dog can see it is tactically insane and a recipe for disaster, except RM (and SR too, it seems). Yes it worked sometimes last season against the weaker Championship teams, but guess what Russell, conventional football with better players would work against them too.
  5. Two peas in a pod.
  6. Frank de Boer was sacked after just the first 4 matches by Palace in 2017 (all defeats). Their Board had balls, realised their mistake, and took action early. They went on to finish 11th. If I had any control I'd give RM one more match. If they lose again by mincing around the back I would de Boer him immediately afterwards. Unfortunately knowing SR and Rasmus they'll probably wait at least until we're 10 points adrift at Xmas before they take any action. Maybe longer.
  7. Isn’t that what Lowe did when we sold Bale to Spurs? Except instead of a higher fee he sacrificed the sell on for Tommy Fourpast.
  8. Have they? I thought any money pumped into the club was from Dragan, and SR are just the ones spending the money. Just like Cortese with Markus/Kat's money. Cortese may have been a ruthless bastard, but at least knew what he was doing and was very successful, in contrast to SR who are mainly a bunch clueless muppets, led by the muppet-in-chief Rasmus.
  9. You forgot to put the year.
  10. Amusing that Vince declared as soon as he was eighth man out to prevent Essex picking up a 3rd bowling point, just like what Essex did at the end of their innings!
  11. Against crap teams. Unfortunately there are not many of them in the PL.
  12. Agreed. Ditto with Tall Paul.
  13. I’m convinced that it doesn’t. Today was Russball at its worst.
  14. That didn't stop Bernard Manning making a career out of it.
  15. Yep. Meh >> Macca > Baz
  16. So long Sekou, and thanks for all the goals.
  17. Except Ross Stewart, he'll end up back in the treatment room doing that.
  18. Whoosh! 😀
  19. And Bazunu is an appalling shot stopper, which makes him an even worse keeper. Being ok playing out from the back doesn't remotely compensate for being crap at the primary role of a keeper.
  20. Yes, but don't forget their famous April 2012 upset, when Norris scored a 110th minute winner in their 2-2 draw against us, which saved them from relegation and consigned us to another season in the second tier. They'll be talking about that epic goal for generations.
  21. Well that's fine if we are bringing in someone better. Which I very much doubt, but would be delighted to be proved wrong. If not, it's madness to get rid of our only option at that role. It's not like we're getting a fortune for him, and we desperately need a big CF. The argument is it isn't in RM's style of play, which I consider bollocks, all teams put crosses into the box. Even if he doesn't start, he's an option that can be used later in the match if we're chasing the game. Like today.
  22. I wonder if it's because Tall Paul was a N. Jones' signing that he refuses to consider him in his plans? At least give him a chance FFS. We missed two great heading chances today, which TP could well have buried. He (RM) really has a blind spot there, along with apparently overrating our poor GKs.
  23. Agreed. The second half screamed to have a CB replaced by Tall Paul. Oh wait, he wasn't even on the bench.
  24. Not even on the bench. We were getting some good crosses into the box, with no one there capable of taking advantage. What the hell is wrong with RM?
  25. Tall Paul would’ve buried that
