When the highest court in the land says presidents can do whatever unlawful acts they like if it’s an “official act” then checks and balances have gone out the window. This is exactly what happened in pre war Germany.

6 of the 9 were appointed by Republicans (3 by the orange Mussolini). Of the 6 fascists, 5 were appointed by a Republican who lost the popular vote. Not to mention the other (Thomas) being the most corrupt having pocketed millions from a billionaire. The electoral college which gave us these 6 fascists, along with a real possibility of another Trump presidency (despite again losing the popular vote) is the root of how the USA can soon turn into a fascist dictatorship. GM and other right wing zealots may think this is wonderful, but having the world’s only superpower a fascist dictatorship should scare every sane person on the planet shitless.

US presidents don’t have absolute power. But Trump and his fascist Republicans are goose stepping toward that.
-
Plus the Orange Mussolini will have the Supreme Court, with their 6-3 fascist supermajority, to back him up. Just like they are doing currently in delaying his stolen classified documents and insurrection cases.

Assuming we are able to get more points than the 3 implosions.

Easy in hindsight I know, but shouldn't Vince have declared sooner? At the time the online BBC reporter questioned why he and Dawson batted as long as they did.

If England was in the upper half of the draw there's no way they'd be favourites, Spain and France alone would be way ahead of them, and Germany and Portugal probably too. But on paper the strongest teams on their side of the draw are Italy and Netherlands, who you could perhaps argue should be favoured over England, but they also have hardly been pulling up trees themselves so far.
-
Simple. France, Spain, Germany, Portugal and Belgium are in the top half of the knockout brackets, with lucky England in the bottom half.

Ivory Coast did just that in this year's Afcon, after an abysmal group stage where they luckily scraped through. And they then went on to win the tournament with their caretaker manager! Of course there's no chance that the brainless dinosaurs running the English FA would even consider it.

The lunatic vote to throw out the ban on machine guns (that's what bump stocks turn semi-automatics into) was 6-3. All 6 fascists on the Supreme Court voted to allow machine guns in the hands of mass killers: 3 were appointed by your hero Trump, with other 3 appointed by other Republicans. The 3 sane ones who voted, sadly in vain, to uphold the ban were appointed by Democrats: 2 were appointed by Obama (Biden was his Vice President at that time), and the other by Biden himself. So who exactly is childish and blind?

You're Scottish then?

We'll definitely bring in new players. But that doesn't necessarily mean the team will be strengthened, with SR's crap track record it's no guarantee. Time will tell.

Newsflash: The globe is warming. At a catastrophic rate. https://www.noaa.gov/news/2023-was-worlds-warmest-year-on-record-by-far Climate by the numbers Earth’s average land and ocean surface temperature in 2023 was 2.12 degrees F (1.18 degrees C) above the 20th century — the highest global temperature among all years in NOAA’s 1850-2023 climate record. It also beats the next warmest year, 2016, by a record-setting margin of 0.27 of a degree F (0.15 of a degree C). The 10 warmest years since 1850 have all occurred in the past decade. In fact, the average global temperature for 2023 exceeded the pre-industrial (1850–1900) average by 2.43 degrees F (1.35 degrees C). Looking ahead, there is a one-in-three chance that 2024 will be warmer than 2023, and a 99% chance that 2024 will rank among the top five warmest years.

I have an American passport so can vote here in the USA. I have to hand it to the Republicans, they have succeeded, after his guilty verdict for the heinous crime of ticking the wrong box on a gun permit application, I definitely won't be voting for Hunter Biden.

I don't!

Sigh. You again seem to find it difficult to distinguish between expectations in the Championship vs. the PL. In the former we had one of the best squads, and certainly one of the most expensive (both in signings and wages). So of course RM was expected to take us up. Fortunately he did very well in the playoffs, aided by a timely loss of our incompetent first choice GK (RM himself admitted he was an idiot not to have played AM earlier). In the PL it's a completely different kettle of fish. As it stands we have the worst squad in the league, except for Ipswich and possibly Leicester. If we don't significantly strengthen I for one won't blame RM if we inevitably go back down again. SR? That's a different matter.

Simple answer really, the manager didn't take preparing for penalties seriously enough. Just like all other England managers before Southgate.

Between this thread, and the Circle of Trust one, we have the latest transfer news and rumours:

True, but we had the king of ruthlessness Cortese in charge back then.

They are the driving force behind the proposed breakaway super league for the filthy rich clubs in Europe to get even richer. The top EU court also found them guilty of receiving illegal state aid.

Ancellotti is class, with an incredible record. Can't stand Real Madrid though.
