And it's just ahead of his second most disgraceful act: getting rid of Sturrock (who had a decent record at Saints despite many games with more than half the first team out injured), and replacing him with another incompetent pawn. And we know what happened that year. A leopard doesn't change his spots. And for the Lowe defenders, yes I know neither were technically sackings, but both were Lowe's decisions (and in NP's case cheaper than sacking because NP didn't even get compensation, despite him wanting to stay on).

Well here's a thought. What if about half of the CCC clubs are in danger of administration: a cunning plan would be for all of them to agree to go into administration on the same day. Then they'll all be in the same boat (docked 10 points) and can form their own mini-league for survival (only 3 can go down!).

Well, according to Lowe, it's better than 16 points from 13 games (NP's record that got him sacked).

Who's hero-worshipping him? The point is, he shouldn't have been sacked. He achieved a decent 1.23 points per game (considering the rubbish he had to work with), and Saints finished on 54 points (no team in any league anywhere has been relegated even with 53 points). He wasn't lucky, Leicester were unlucky to go down with 52 points. BTW, even if Leicester had scored against Stoke, NP still would've saved us (Coventry would've gone down).

That's better, thank you, although I "corrected" NP's points-per-game. Asterisk (*) means sacked for being crap, and double asterisk (**) means being forced out for not being a Lowe's man. Relegation was the result of Luggy's removal, and history could be repeating itself with NP's.

I had no idea what the score was that day, and I heard "Norwich 4..." and my Saints supporting life flashed before my eyes. Visions of Saints definitely doomed and financial ruin (err, a bit like today). And then after what seemed an eternity "... Southampton 5". Cue dizziness and total disbelief.

Sturrock's record at Saints: P13 W5 D2 L6 (1.3 points per game = 50 for a season in prem). In some of those matches he had virtually the whole first team out injured. Agree with the comment about Wigley though.
