Reports are that the club had been monitoring Downs for some time, before Spors arrived. Just like Ankersen did with his genius choice of Nathan Jones.
-
Apart from Downs as you mention (a total disaster), not bringing in a strong experienced CF, a useless Norwich reject GK instead of a solid experienced one (on loan if necessary) as an upgrade on the crap ones we have, Shoehorn's extension, and the cherry on top of that pile of shit, Will Bloody Stills. Now I've long suspected that cancer on our club Ankersen has been behind many, if not all, those disastrous decisions, and from reading what @trousers transcribed above it looks like it well be true.

Ankersen owns shares (not as many as Dragan, but an owner nonetheless). Otherwise you'd have thought Dragan would've told him to f*ck off after his second relegation. In short, Ankersen is a disgusting turd that can't easily be flushed. If I were the Skate mayor (shudder) I'd consider giving Ankersen the keys to their (decrepit) city and building a statue in his honour for the damage he's done to the "scummers".
-
Has he though? Wasn't he in charge of selling players this summer? And all the Spors cock ups, Will Still, Downs, no new gk, Shoehorn extension, etc. are classic Rasmuseque-type disastrous decisions. He is partial owner, so he may be pulling strings behind Dragan's back and Spors has no choice but to follow him. Not that Spors is off the hook, he needs to clear his desk tomorrow.

What do you plan to tell Alfie?

Not with the current clown as manager.

I'm definitely there with Rasmus W. Ankersen. Actually, I've been there since he masterminded the first SR relegation.
-
When first hired, he was a glimmer of hope after years of SR/Ankersen disastrous incompetence. All hope has been shattered. He is either as stupid and clueless as Ankersen, or is a puppet with Ankersen pulling the strings behind Dragan's back. Either way, we are f*cked.
-
I doubt it, unfortunately. They stuck with Nathan Jones and Russel Martin too long, because they didn't want to admit they ballsed up. They probably will do exactly the same with Still. Not only are they beyond incompetent with choosing managers, they are equally inept at sacking them as well.
-
Gao didn’t relegate us twice.
-
In fairness to MLG, I don’t think he said Spors would definitely be a success, but rather that we shouldn’t write him off, given that Ankersen and the rest of the clowns were supposedly taking a back seat. I think most of us hoped this would be the case. But the jury has surely come back in with their verdict. Spors is a disaster, a German version of Rasmus Ankersen.

Will Still. Downs. Shoehorn contract extension. Bringing in a Norwich reject gk and keeping Bazunu as number one. So to answer your question: nope.
-
I don't think Solak is greedy (at least regarding our club). He's just stupid. As for the rest of SR, led by Ankersen, they are deluded morons who think they are geniuses.
-
And managers. What a clusterf**k SR are.
-
Focus our attention on Still, Spors and Ankersen?
-
Unfortunately it may take more than months with the clowns in charge. I wouldn't be surprised if they stick with him for the whole season, unless we're in the bottom three at Christmas, and even then, the clueless muppets may not sack him, hoping it'll get better. Just like with all their previous disastrous managers.
-
I think the fellow you’re thinking of is Downs.
-
Instead they gave him a contract extension. Geniuses.
-
Absolutely. This is what Still would do if he had half a brain.

Sheff Utd 1-2 Saints - Match Thread
Dark Munster replied to TheAlehouseBrawlers's topic in The Saints
Good point, and it's something that has pissed me off for years when our players do it, especially ones who have injury records. Didn't Ings do it for a while as well? Pure madness. It's up to the manager to tell him to cut it out. -
Jammy? Yes and no. Yes the batting has been crap all season. But the bowling has been decent, Hants have been unlucky not to have won several more matches due to weather, had to play the worst team twice with a tennis ball, had a dodgy 8 point deduction, and only lost 3 matches all season (Durham lost 6).
-
Nine years ago Durham got docked enough points to relegate them and Hants were the beneficiaries. Roles reversed now.
