  1. I don't want to see pretty footie. well, I do, but not if we could watch ugly footie and get the odd point every now and again...
  2. to be honest none of us knows what NP was earning. It does, however, go down as one of the most senseless, idiotic, moronic, cretinous, feeble-minded, sh!t-for-brains decisions ever in the history of bad decisions. We ended last season on a complete high. Nigel had - against all the odds - managed to turn around a team that was heading for disaster. The players respected him, the fans were either all ready won over or mostly prepared to back him and most importantly he was deeply, deeply pasionate about the job. (which is not to say that JP isn't). Now NP is doing great things at Leicester. He will bring them back up to the CCC and we will pass them on the way down.
  3. It would nice knowing the answers to these questions for sure, but personally I think the really important questions that need answers are: 1. What is plan B if/when we do go bankrupt. Given the current financial climate if there is no one willing to buy Woolworths at a knock down price there is unlikely to be anyone prepared to buy the assets of Southampton Leisure Holdings PLC. In which case SFC could cease to exist. 2. When are we going to win at home next?
  4. My God. That is the most appalling thing I have ever read concerning our club. We genuinely have no hope while there are such arrogant, nasty, vindictive hate-filled individuals in the board room. No wonder it spreads to the fan base. How sad. Having just read that I am now convinced we will end up relegated and insolvent by the end of the season. RL HAS done well to get things more under control financially but I can't see it mattering a toss after just reading that transcript. Perhaps they should just take us into administration now and save us all the worry. And what makes me really angry about the whole thing is that Jan P was there. People were insulting his managerial skills which is just plain f@cking rude. He is in no way responsible for the chaos in the boardroom and only want to get on with his job. For Christ sake, let the dickheads in suits slag each other off but leave out the manager. What must the lads be thinking? There is no way that this sort of behaviour by the suits inspires or helps in anyway for them play better football. I just hope that they don't get to read it. Perhaps the suits should commission a football historian to produce some research into winning clubs. It would show that clubs whose suits and coaching staff get on well are the ones who are most likely to succeed. Its basic f@cking common sense to support the coaching staff and players! Our beautiful football club is broken. Truly sad.
  5. Exactly. Well said. We might still me broke, but we are less broke than if the old lot had still been throwing money at players' wages. To run a club - any club - where you are paying 80% of turnover on players wages is not just imbecilical it is down right corporate negligence. At least RL understands this point. I also don't believe that the attendance this season would not be significantly higher if the squad had stayed the same.
  6. because: a) they couldn't be worse and b) expenses are less and c) they couldn't be worse. Christ, I hope people aren't going to try and state that the finances last year were in good order???????
  7. sorry mate, but RL has got the finances into MUCH better shape than last year. We may not be out of the woods but at least there is a competent approach to the business. If we ain't got the cash we can't spend it. For that, and only that, I am prepared to thank RL. Love him or hate him the simple fact is that if the club continued to pay the ludicrous wage bill that the other bunch of muppets signed off on then the club would have been insolvent already. No one wants to lose football games, but I would much rather be solvent and in div one than bankrupt and in div one.
  8. Nothing could be further from the truth. Would make my millennium to see the back of RL. I wasn't at the AGM, so my knowledge of the event is down to the OS. Perhaps, if there is an alternative version, someone who was at the meeting could brief me in? I am happy to stand corrected but until i do the OS is good enough for me.
  9. Absolutely! I'll second that. We may all disagree about what we agree that we don't know, but at the end of the day we are all Supporters of the Greatest Football Club in the World, and in my book blood runs thicker than opinions. Wishing you all a happy Christmas and a deluge of three-pointers in the New Year!!
  10. I don't want to highlight the fact that this club is going down the toilet. I'm not a negative doomsday-merchant. Instead what I do, as well as writing on this forum, is to get myself to SMS every game - and a few away ones too - and support our lads by cheering them on. Also by having my lunch in the stadium and drinking lots of beer! Supporting the lads during the games and helping - in my small way - to increase the club's bank balance.
  11. bring back C.B. Fry is what i say. The best damned sepia-looking Chap ever to wear the Red and White. We were frickin crazy to let him go to Pompey.
  12. Talking with a mate in the pub about the United game. We both agreed it will either be a complete humiliation, possibly 0-12 or a really dull game ending in 0-0. What it won't be is a regular sort of score line like 1-2.
  13. Ok Baj, so what are the facts - as you see them. Admittedly the first and only i have heard of the incident is on the OS but if the OS says that: a) he ran to the front and chucked coins at RL and Chief Orange Coat and b) he was evicted from the meeting room. and consequently c) he has been banned from club premises. then I am happy to accept their version of events, given that there must have been witnesses to the event. So how would you describe the events?
  14. nothing wrong with being working class! Back bone of this country are those who are prepared to graft for low pay.
  15. Richard Chorley has been banned from St Mary's for chucking coins at Rupert. Always thought he was a thug. Just proves the point. What sort of idiot does that at an AGM? But can someone please just remind me who this Chorley character is? Doesn't he have something to do with a splinter fringe group of shareholders/fans? Doesn't he write loads of 'open' letters to Rupert? Sad loser. Happy he has been banned from St Mary's. Doesn't matter how much you dislike duckhunter, there is a line and physical violence is not on. Bye, bye Richard.
  16. Errr not sure it works like that! Wish that it did. Being in administration does NOT mean that one's debts are wiped away. The assets would be sold and/or a buyer found. And, as in the case of Woolworths, if no buyer is found to pay off the debts then the business (club) is shut down. Which I guess would mean that the playing side would be restructured in a sense as they would all be handed their P45's..... let's hope it don't happen
  17. Has dyer done his community service yet? Be good to have him back in January if for no other reason that the Northam can change the chant to 'dyer robs from the skates' - which is true and has been proved in a court of law, rather than the erroneous 'Bradley WP robs from the skates' which is not true as he was acquitted of all charges.
  18. No. I might be wrong but I am certain that it would be a breach of law to lay down a dress code to shareholders of a public company when they attend its AGM. Just turn up in what ever you want. Be quiet amusing to put a skate shirt on and see if any of the suits at the front even notice.
  19. Blasphemy. There is no other way to describe it. Blasphemy. You should repent you sins. Le God didn't just stay with us because it was the easy option! In some more draconian societies you would be stoned to death for making such an outburst. If SFC was an Iranian club in Tehran you would even at this moment be hanging from a crane in full view of the public. How very dare you! Repent sinner. Repent.
  20. Well I would be a hypocrite if I reported Manure fans sitting in the home parts of SMS. I couldn't get an away ticket for the recent Reading game so bought a home ticket instead. So long as the manure lot keep quiet and sit on their hands then haven't got a problem. Any t0ssers who want the rest of us to know they are United fans should be ejected from the stadium immediately. Preferably from the top of the terrace onto the tarmac below! I would however naturally prefer everyone to be Saints. Wasn't it Arsene Wenger who a while back got really hacked off with plastic fans at Highbury/Emirates because the atmosphere was sh!te? No singing only corporate knobs wanting having a swanny. Hope that SMS will not be silent, sure it won't. There are enough of us to make a hell of a racket when the game starts..
  21. Go on then Rupert, twist my arm and I might just stay.
  22. f\/cking well hope you are having a tease mate? If there is one thing I hate it is a ticket tout. Offer it at face value or return it to the ticket office.
  23. As far as I am concerned there is something to be said about stay-away, fair-weather fans a.k.a 'plastic fans'. I guess I can also see the other side of the argument about choosing to pay for high-profile games and not bother about the Tuesday night's and bottom of the league Saturday games. When I eventually got back home after witnessing the rubbish this last Saturday I was extremely ****ed off, £40 poorer (and that didn't include ticket as I have a ST), depressed, half-cut on cheap cider and having taken a day off work, having to turn out on the Sunday to make up for it. All in all I was not a happy bunny and even had a name-calling contest with someone on here - can't remember who, but now I am sober and calmed down, sorry mate, no real insults intended. I do however still stick to my point that if one claims to support a club then it does help if you also put your money where your mouth is and turn up, pay your money and support the lads. By all means we should always welcome neutral well-wishers to SMS for an afternoon's entertainment - and as shown on Saturday if the ticket is reasonably priced then people and families will turn out. However, what really gets right up my nose is those people who claim - usually very loudly - to be a Saints fan (or for that matter any other club) but not actually go and watch the team play football. Sure, it is not always possible to get to every game, and sure not everyone can afford a ST but support is not just letting your mates down the pub know that you are a Saints fan. Support is actually supporting!!!!! And what REALLY, REALLY hacks me off is listening to people bang on and on about our club's fortunes when they have not been near SMS in years or only sporadically. I am genuinely delighted that SMS will be full for the United game. It is bringing significant cash to the club (and however much I dislike him, I don't believe for a minute that RL will be making off with suitcases of bank notes after the tills close). I hope that some of those who have bought tickets to see the big-swinging-dicks from the Premier league in action will get enough of a buzz on the day and come back for some more mundane footie later in the season. I guess I just don't like this beautiful game of ours being turned into nothing more than just a commercial entertainment industry. To me it is so much more. Come on, get behind your team and support the SAINTS!!
  24. I have no anger issues. Read back to the ****-s\/cker who first called me a "***t" and you might realise why I "aired" my views as I did.
  25. I don't care about proving how 'good' a supporter I am. I know how good a supporter I am. I do care that all a sudden there has been a renewed interest in being at SMS for 90 minutes on a December afternoon. Funny eh? Excellent that the club is now due a big pay day because the big swinging-dicks from the Golden Premier League are coming to play. Hoorah! What I object to is that people who say they 'support' SFC only come out when the cameras are turned on the pretty boys from the top-flight. There are 32,000 odd seats at SMS. All of this season there has been barely half of them filled. Suddenly today SMS is full, all but. So where are these 'supporters' for the rest of the season? Probably back at home watching a SKY tv game. Crap.
