Don't twist what I wrote. I wrote "sadly" and his early death ( 10 years after he left SFC)had nothing to do with what I wrote. He was our hero but after he left the club to be with Glenda he was vilified, hated and there was great joy amongst the Saints supporters when he was always out injured. " When Hoddle moved to Tottenham Hotspur in March 2001, he tried to take Richards with him. This led to a drawn-out battle of words between chairman Rupert Lowe and the Tottenham board, which ended in Spurs paying £8.1 million to persuade Lowe to release Richards from his contract which he d only signed a few months earlier. Richards never realised his full potential at Tottenham due to persistent injury problems, and never fulfilled his ambition to play for his country. ( reason her gave to go to Spurs) At the time, his transfer fee to Tottenham was the highest amount ever paid by a club for a player who had not played internationally.

Here in Montpellier, like at other France clubs, Academies are the main way of staying afloat financially. An annual sale or two of home grown talent keeps the clubs alive. Operating in this manner was how Rupert Lowe saw investment in an Academy, without a sugar daddy, as the way forward. Montpellier chairman, the notorious Louis Nicollin, once compared an Academy as a production line, comparing it to a cake shop. It was wrong to prevent sale of the gateaux just for the sake of admiration or because the Chef wanted to keep it. The aim was to sell at the best price and continue the production, rather than allow the gateaux to deteriorate in the shop window and provide no income

I just tweeted if it had been at the time of Rupert Lowe the supporters would have burnt down the Stadium. It was bad enough when Shaw. Ricky and the lame Lallana left and we were appeased by the eventual signing of Tadic and Pelle. We've been conned our right and unless there is a backlash it'd just going to continue.

I have a huge respect for Calum Chambers. He is a class player already with an enormous potential. Over night I remembered two figures were being quoted. 7 million and 16 million. Could Wenger have offered 7 million with a years loan back or alternatively, a straight 16 million for Chambers to leave outright? What is all wrong is that the lad will be worth double the 16 million in a years time and be able to command terms to better those of Luke Shaw.

Wake up people, wake up! It's crystal clear for us all to see. Katharina is selling the club. What is happening is what goes on when a business is being sold. To have admitted to selling would have backfired so they denied everything whilst put the club up for sale quietly. The Stadium and the ground upon which it stands will follow suit before the heart and soul of what is Southampton Football Club will be sold off to the highest bidder. Maybe this is what Cortese is waiting silently for, what gave him that smirk on smile when last interviewed. Rarely have I seen such massive lying and ripping off. Those who've been conned into buying season tickets are perfectly within their rights to demand a refund. Maybe such a move would bring those pulling the strings a huge wake up call. Calum Chambers, England Under 19 Captain, has been a revelation this past year. I'd have him any day over Clyne, who gave me the jitters tonight under he improved as the game went on. In one year he will be worth more than Shaw and be able to earn more too. I hope any deal will include future payments based on his worth or sell on.

There is indeed justice in this life. Karma does not fail. It worked with Hoddle who got his just desserts , sadly it ended the career of Dean Richards. The cold damp Northern air will finish Adam off riddling his joints with arthritis and all sorts of nasty ailments. Let this be a warning to them all. Hope Liverpool get Preston in the Cup and Kevin Davies breaks his leg and finishes him off like he did with Dyer.

Simon Peach @SimonPeach 26m The official line on Chambers' absence from #SaintsFC's friendly with #AFCB is illness. Will be interesting to see what Koeman says after

I still find Gaston too lightweight for the Premier League. He wasn't really tested by the Bournemouth players whereas Premier League players would have hacked him down.

Can't stop thinking Katharina is in reality selling the club but denying everything so the price will remain high. I have never seen anything similar except when an owner was in the process of selling. The silence of Cortese is mystifying, when he has every right to gloat. -
Isgrove is everywhere, can tackle, can head and looks like the new Gordon Strachan in the making.

Clyne making the same blunders in defense as last season, Worrying

Yet another Saint Charlie assessment way off the mark. Lloyd Isgrove has looked very good so far. Well done lad.

Surprised no one's come up with any Bo Derek photos although can't find any of her emerging out of the water.

With Schneiderlin due back for vacation it is imperative Lovren will be gone and not moping about with the chance of influencing Morgan. Just as important is that Morgan sees things moving on bringing in players.

I too am all for us going in for Forster and Van Dijk and not quibbling over the fee. We could do worse than establish a long term co-operation with them over players, even getting Academy players sent to them on loan to gain experience.

Sad no one's listening to Talksport. They've been discussing Saints for over an hour and have to say I'm bursting with pride at 2 Saints supporters who phoned in, a Ryan and a Robbie. What positivity and faith in the club, its Academy and future. What a contrast to posters on here, who clearly must be in the minority.

Sharp did go up to Glasgow and was interviewed along with a couple of overseas strikers. He reported their interest on twitter but he went silent when he was turned down. Celtic decided on an Icelandic or Scandinavian guy. Sharp was turned down on his salary demands like he has been at most clubs who showed any interest in him.

We have arrived at the New Moon tomorrow. Schneiderlin returns this weekend. Time for movement 1)Cardiff's interest in Fonte is surely linked with our bid for Marshall where they must prefer Fonte plus ready cash. 2) Depending on the Cardiff situation the offer for Forster is for real or red herring and perhaps originally a cover for us signing Van Dikj or indeed signing both Forster and Van Dikj. 3) Surely we aren't waiting to Schneiderlin to jump ship before completing a deal for Vaar and/or Van Dikj. We need players to ensure Schneiderlin stays. 4) Allowing Fonte to go, whereas unpopular does make good business as long as we sign strong replacements. However it might be what has the remaining players jumping ship too. *** RE: Saint Charlie. The fact that he's lost all control over himself and fails to enact his promises to many of us, just shows how serious his situation is. Soon, they'll be coming in white jackets to take him away. Playing Cherries tonight must be an enormous wrench on whether he supports his first love or Saints. It may send him over the edge. 4) If

This has to be a good omen. I was just going thru the playlists on my own Youtube site when in the midst this terrific video on Van Dikj appeared in the midst."Schotten lyrisch over Virgil van Dijk - RTV Noord" We have to sign this guy. Seems to be a class player as well as a top block. If we do we're going to break the hearts of Celtic fans.
