  1. Great minds think alike!!! HaHa Was just about to start a new thread on the subject of Agents myself. Back in the days of Rupert Lowe agents names were on the lips of most Saints supporters. Lowe ensured that most were Persona Non Grata where St. Mary's was concerned. Yet Lowe himself somewhat deviously co-operated with the likes of Eric Mananas (*?)for him to represent the club in the States and South America. Hence we got lumbered with the likes of Delgado and a string of unknown South American also rans. Shame Charlie boy isn't around when you need him. (Always is on here when you're not in the mood for his insights and unfounded information ) I can credit him as previously researching which player was managed by what agent and Group. Stellar are about the biggest around and Jonathan Barnett and David Manasseh have been wheeler dealing for years. I don't know about the Cortese connection but hope thi thread will take an indepth look at all the players, agents and connections.
  2. Well, it appears we're not the only ones getting concerned as to the delay in finalising Adam's transfer. Liverpool Kop have just posted the following. Seems negotiations are still ongoing with Saints, as to the finer details etc.. OR, are they hinting that a cover up excuse is about to be played out to cover up Adam failing the medical. Even Saints would be loth to exposing such a scenario happening. Liverpool News 24/7 6/28/2014 07:45:00 pm 'Nearly there': Agent confirms LFC 'getting closer' to signing 'amazing' £25m star, but why the ongoing delay? Over the last 24 hours, multiple sources have claimed that Liverpool's deal for 'amazing' Adam Lallana is reportedly signed, sealed and delivered, but according to his Agent, personal terms are still an issue, and the Reds are still negotiating the finer details with Southampton. The BBC reports that Lallana's salary will be a whopping £100k a week (£26m over 5 years), and when asked last night about the £25m transfer, Lallana's agent, David Manasseh, told Sky Sports: "We are getting closer. We are nearly there on the personal terms and he is doing a medical at the moment. "Hopefully, we'll have good news for Liverpool fans probably tomorrow morning [saturday]" Well, Saturday morning has passed, and there's no further news, so it seems that negotiation over Lallana's personal terms is proving to be trickier than expected. What exactly is there to negotiate? For £100k a week, Lallana should just sign the deal and get it over with. Two years ago, he was playing in the lower-leagues, so he should just be thankful he has the chance to earn such an obscene amount of money. As per usual, Agent-fuelled greed is probably getting in the way of a deal being concluded. I have no doubt that any stumbling blocks will be money-related, i.e. image rights, bonuses etc, but that's par for the course when it comes to today's grasping, money-obsessed footballers. Sorry to keep harping on about transfer fees, but when it comes to English players, things really are out of control. We live in a world where Lallana and Shaw cost more than Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva. * Lallana/Shaw: £55m combined. No Euro experience. Minimal international experience. * Ibrahimovic/Silva: £50m. Copious Euro/international experience. The world has gone mad. Author: Jaimie K
  3. What gets me and I'm sure most people is that Adam was Team Captain. It's not the fact he has ambition but the way he's gone about getting this move to Liverpool, getting media mates and others posting nasty bits about board members etc.. He has shown no dignity whatsoever and as such doesn't deserve any in return. He could have put in a transfer request or called a press conference at anytime over the past 6 weeks and said he'd reconsidered his career, his contract and intended to leave Southampton Football Club. In all the references to Titanic leaving Southampton and sinking, no one has mentioned it met an Iceberg. Adam too has met an Iceberg in the form of a medical. That, what they believed as unsinkable, in much the same way Adam thinks he's God's gift to football , sank and vanished beneath the sea.
  4. This move makes me puke, in particular, how it's come about. At least Luke and Ads allowed the club to parade for posterity the names of 2 Saints players at the World Club. From Guan's indications he hasn't till now been allowed to tell us everything on Shaw, I hope he will finally let us know all the ins and outs behind the scenes. Something happened in those closing days of last season. Something I believe that effected several players and made Pochettino decide to leave a couple of weeks later. ARTOVISIONS view on things. Tomorrow is the New Moon, Shaw should have held off a day before signing to improve his future plans. At this time, one of the most auspicious indications in Astrology, is the period each year or so, when the Planet Saturn appears to reverse it's path in the sky. This is known as Saturn in Retrograde. Saturn dictates Karma in our lives. It is a time of delay, reflection, of putting in order past mistakes, errors. coming to terms with problems. Saturn went into retrograde on March 2nd and won't turn direct till the 20th July. It is a time when one should avoid all new ventures, not to sign new contracts, launch any financial changes. For Mister Shaw, his impatience to get away from the mouth that has fed him, from the people who made him, gave him a huge chance, will have his just rewards. Karma is about to teach him a huge lesson.
  5. Morgan's posted a photo after the last game with Spuds Hugh Lloris close and pally. The one thing I will never forgive any of our players is signing for Spuds to link up with Pochettino. The club have to ensure not one of our players sign for them. Anywhere but Spuds, preferably overseas.
  6. I want to see the club refusing to sell any of our foreign players whom we brought to the UK to Premier League rivals. We have to insist they are sold to clubs abroad. Had Cortese overseen Pochettino's departure he'd have ensured that He and Spud were unable to return to the club to poach players for 1 year. Many clubs make departing managers sign such a clause. Obviously Koeman hasn't taken any initiative to turn up to talk with the likes of Shaw. Saw Pochettino has been calling Spuds players to introduce himself. Just feel as sick as it's possible to be of everything football. England's let down, Hodgson staying on, Suarez's match feeding antics and the thoughts of our best every selection being sold off, showing absolutely not one grain of loyalty either to the club, the supporters. I think we owe a certain Rupert Lowe a bit of respect for how he put together a reasonable side with nothing in the coffers. Not even a billionaire owner can prevent what's happening. I remember 12 years ago saying on SFE, that getting our players playing for the international terms worked against our long term good. Not only do they get their heads filled with believing they're too good for us but it effects all the other players in the squad.
  7. Luke's answer to Simon Peach after the match against Costa Ricca seems to answer what are his intentions. The teenager asked about his ambitions after the match but did not mention his club future, simply saying: '[My ambitions are] just to keep pushing myself, go back fit and ready in pre-season and keep trying to improve my game and look forward to the friendly in September.' 8. According to French Radio Morgan starts tonight. I'm over the moon for him and for France whose style of play is exciting to watch. Vive la France. Vive Morgan Scheiderlin.
  9. I've thought a lot about the SUN article since it appeared. I wondered whether one of his team mates was behind the tweets having got access to Luke's phone. Just the type of things older players would do to the youngest player in the squad. I read somewhere he was sharing a room with Jack Wiltshire. Then again, Maybe his head has got completely turned by all this Man U transfer and how much they intend to pay him. These were Playboy Girls, and they were to be found in California. When I consider this I can see only one explanation...............he's decided to go for the big bucks, take a leaf out of the book of former Academy player, who's now a millionaire. Luke's surely decided to go for gold http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/4042622.From_a_Saint_to_a_porn_star___The_full_story/
  10. Saint Charlie was indeed once a decent poster, someone I once considered a friend. Tragically, he's turned into an obnoxious, arrogant, conniving poster who sets out to make people believe he's an insider, knows everything that no other person knows, not even the players themselves. Something very sad must have happened in life to this once decent young man. He had a brilliant mind, yet how can he spend all the time on here, spouting really annoying posts, designed to anger, irritate and send confusion thru all the supporters who are members of this forum. Time after time he contradicts his own statements, signaling the state of his once brilliant mind. It's not done to counteract the destruction of this once marvelous forum. Alas, instead of holding his ground, rising above it all, silencing the fools, trolls and idiots, he joined them and has sunk to a level few on here have sunk. Quality, not quality. Truth not streams of blatant lies.
  11. Well Valencia won't be coming as part of any Shaw deal. He's just signed a new 3 year deal to stay at Man U.
  12. "God Save the Queen" for me is the Royal Anthem, and, as such, should be used in the presence of the Monarch and Royal family. Thoroughly agree Cabrone with the three tunes you select. Maybe, the Political Party who promises a National Referendum on the choice of National Anthem if elected who be on to a winner. Certainly the subject needs to be addressed in order to put pride and belief back into our Sportsmen and Women.
  13. F*C kING 90% North of England selection. Bloody pathetic when there are Southern players on the bench who should have been selected. Lallana on for Rooney, Ricky on for Sturridge, Barkley on
  14. Here is an additional part of the BBC interview that's just been posted. Adam looks more like his old self, speaks again well of the club and how they were so supportive when he had his heart murmur problems. No wife with him in Brazil but his parents and other relations are there. http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/27907376
  15. Finally Adam has something to say and put all this leaving nonsense to bed. Certainly comes across very nervous twitching face and blinking eyes but his final replies were confident and genuine.
  16. Well done guys, a really great rendition that will await the Judas's return to St Mary's I believe it should be " The truth is YOU never loved US" We did love him but all the time he was scheming his next move. He'd have gone even if Cortese had been here. One only needs to speak with Ossie Ardilles to know he was working towards a move to Spuds months ago
  17. Even being reported on Reuters who used his TINTIN nickname to announce him joining Saints. All he disgust and shame brought about the betrayal of Lallana has been washed away by this amazing appointment. Like us all I am bursting with pride and filled with gratitude to Katrina Liebherr. Les Reed and everyone at the club. PS to Leslie. 'Loved your "Don't cry for us Pochettino" Tintin hopes to become a hero to Southampton fans By Michael Hann Mon Jun 16, 2014 6:08pm BST 0 Comments http://s4.reutersmedia.net/resources/r/?m=02&d=20140616&t=2&i=909005963&w=580&fh=&fw=&ll=&pl=&r=LYNXMPEA5F0TR Barcelona's former player Ronald Koeman waves to supporters during the presentation of the team and commemoration of the 20th anniversary of their first European Cup, at Nou Camp stadium in Barcelona August 20, 2012. REUTERS/Gustau Nacarino (Reuters) - With a reputation for playing attacking football and a penchant for developing youngsters, Southampton's appointment of Dutchman Ronald Koeman as manager on Monday will help calm the uneasy tides on England's south coast. After finishing the Premier League campaign with a club record 56 points, Southampton have endured a turbulent close season since the departure of manager Mauricio Pochettino to Tottenham Hotspur. England striker Rickie Lambert quickly followed the Argentine out of the door to join boyhood club Liverpool while media speculation surrounding the futures of England World Cup duo Adam Lallana and Luke Shaw continues to bubble away. Southampton say they do not need to sell their best players but if their hands become tied, then the appointment of Koeman will go some way to steadying the ship at St Mary's. The 51-year-old, who goes by the nickname of Tintin because of his likeness to the fictional character, has plenty of managerial experience and won the domestic double in his first season at Ajax Amsterdam in 2001-02. He has also spent time in charge of Feyenoord, Benfica, PSV Eindhoven and Valencia. However, it is former Netherlands defender Koeman's attacking style of play coupled with his ability to nurture young players that is likely to strike a chord at Southampton. The Saints are always willing to give the less experienced players a chance, with the likes of Real Madrid's world-record signing Gareth Bale and Arsenal pair Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain having come through their ranks. "In appointing Ronald we have concluded our search for a manager who shares our values and vision for the future of Southampton," executive director Les Reed said on their website. "From the moment we met Ronald it was clear he had the vision and ambition to take our club forward, that he shared our football philosophy and could see the opportunity to move our club to the next level." IBRAHIMOVIC PRAISE Blond maestro Koeman once played an instrumental role in the development of enigmatic Sweden and Paris St Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic. "He is terrific," Ibrahimovic said after the Dutchman was appointed at Ajax in 2001. "Talk about respect, he has only been here for two days and you can see he gets on really well with the lads." Koeman also took a youthful Rafael van der Vaart under his wing in the Dutch capital, installing him as captain. But their relationship turned sour when the midfielder refused to play on the left wing against Bayern Munich. Over the last three seasons at Feyenoord, Koeman twice helped his talented youngsters to qualify for the Champions League before leaving last month. Jordy Clasie, Bruno Martins Indi, Stefan de Vrij, Terece Kongolo, Tonny Vilhena and Jean Paul Boetius all received call-ups by Netherlands and Koeman is hoping to make a similar impact at his new club. "From my very first meeting with Les Reed I could see clearly this was the right club for me," he said. "We share the same philosophy of football and the same belief in how to develop the club. "The opportunity to continue the development of this famous football club was simply too good to turn down." Koeman's appointment has certainly won the approval of Southampton great Matthew Le Tissier. "Seems like an excellent one to me," the former England striker said on his Twitter account. "Big name to attract players."

  19. We hired him on Sunday (or Monday whatever) And our hearts stood still Da doo ron-ron-ron, Da doo ron-ron Someone told us he has a lot of skill Da doo ron-ron-ron, Da doo ron-ron Ohhh! Our hearts stood still. Ron's gonna take higher and we know he will. He's the manager of Southampton and will take us there Da doo ron-ron-ron, Da doo ron-ron
  20. Seeing we are to play Bayer Leverkusen in a pre season friendly, the choice may indicate who we've chosen as manager. Perhaps a German. Do any of the named pretenders have any links with that club, or have Bayer Leverkusen been involved in friendly games in the past with any clubs managed by any candidate? Meethinks it may indication a German candidate, thus Tuchel comes to mind as obvious choice. I saw Rudi Volker used to manage Beyer Leverkusen. With Tucher, he resigned from Mainz but unfortunately the club, till now, have refused his resignation and are holding him to his contract. May require a court case for him to leave Mainz. Does the friendly indicate anything in who will be manager?
  21. I'm sure we exchanged thoughts on the subject. AThe weather on D-Day was far from ideal, but postponing would have meant a delay of at least two weeks, as the invasion planners had requirements for the phase of the moon, the tides, and the time of day that meant only a few days in each month were deemed suitable. Apologies for blackening your reputation. I have to offer a huge vote of thanks for finding the original post. Interesting to see Crab lungs and myself had sussed out Dodds back then, although he improved after the arrival of Pochettino. Bearsey, our bromance will be outed if you keep lavishing such loving praises to my posts. Much appreciated. Even the best World and Military leaders have use the Moon phases in their planning and decisions. D Day was planned according to the Full Moon, for a number of reasons. " The weather on D-Day was far from ideal, but postponing would have meant a delay of at least two weeks, as the invasion planners had requirements for the phase of the moon, the tides, and the time of day that meant only a few days in each month were deemed suitable." Would be interesting to look back at the shed full of managers who joined the club over the past 12 years to see if they joined before or after the Full Moon.
  22. Tomorrow is not only Friday the 13th but also the FULL MOON! A project/new job will best succeed if it is started/signed before the Full Moon. Frmer have sown their crops in this way for centuries. Often it will fail, not be a success if started/signed after the Full Moon. Pochettino, left and signed for Spuds after last months Full Moon. Not a very auspicious timing for him and his buddies. As long as the Club and the new Manager have signed bore Saturday morning it will be a good move for Saints. The announcement can come later. If not, they'd better wait till after the next New Moon. RE: René GIRARD. 2 years ago when he left Montpellier after winning the league, I wrote to Nicola recommending him as Academy Director. I also posted here on the forum and had WC say he'd not be interested in working in the UK. My post was after a radio interview locally where René stated he'd love to work in the UK. He is an excellent coach of the Georges Prost mold. He has brought through many a youngster such as Olivier Giroud, and the Montpellier League winning players. He's someone who'd do a fantastic job at Saints. Sadly, despite energy levels of someone 20 years younger, he may not fit Reed;s profile for the new manager.l
  23. Les Reed mentioned that the paperwork was holding things up. If the candidate was English or European I'd have thought this would have gone quickly. I feel the candidate may be non European like Pochettino and they may require work permit, visas etc.. This would narrow down the field of candidates if this was so. So who does this leave us with?
  24. Alex Goring Crook ‏@alex_crook 1h Have to say have never seen so much support from fans for a potential managerial appointment as there seems to be for Koeman #saintsfc So no one takes notice of this website, the supporters. This idiot is letting Talksport know of our wonderful poll, thus confusing the issue further. The whole travesty is that Spartac fooled everyone into believing Yakin had signed for them. Google Yakin and you will not find anything in the UK to the contrary. My contention on holding a new poll is Yakin was never included BECAUSE EVERYONE THOUGHT HE WAS NO LONGER AVAILABLE!!! He is STILL AVAILABLE and open to NEW OFFERS. (See my earlier post to latest Swiss article. Do the Board, the Club know he i still available. Have they, like most people, been fooled by Spartac into believing YAKIN is no longer available? Our poll does NOTHING for YAKIN's cause. We must conduct a new poll. I voted in the earlier poll for Koeman believing Yakin had signed for Spartac. Most other Yakin supporters did the same. Yakin flew to Barcelona last Thursday for a break OR was he meeting our scouts who brought Pochettino to the club or somewthing similar. 2) Elsewhere I've seen no discussion on why Ralph really flew to Miami. Was it just to watch our boys, talk with them, or talk to managers like Moyes, Hoddle or someone else. I can't believe he's had no role to play in the Manager search.
  25. You make me sick with you holier than thou answers to posts. There was a time I enjoyed when you posted. The board, the chairman have always received regular reports on what supporters and local media are discussing, griping about. Staff are employed by the club to keep the board updated on the media, the message boards. 90% of stories in the National Media, Radio are taken from what we the supporters discuss, what gets tweeted. The Poll has been closed for days and a new Poll started based on updated candidates. It is a real travesty that probably the best candidate hasn't been included for supporters to vote on. How the hell can the board be expected to do their job when we the supporters can't even conduct an efficient poll and sounding of what we feel?
