The situation is very good, getting better by the day. The majority are optimistic but sick minded individuals like Saint Charlie can no longer help themselves. He and the others like him come on to deliberately try to stress out fans who are too naive to see thru what he's up to. He promised to change but it's evident he just can't help himself. Liverpool are the 1st team we play. Having seen how much they upset us with signing Rickie and Lambert they're using the media to be linked with every player. JayRod is out for at least another 4-5 months, so why, other than to unsettle and stress us, would they go for him now? Get a grip people, we're growing from strength to strength.

The team's baptism in Belgium today. Must say Billy's looking pretty sharp ()

Ronald is a genius in so many ways. The body language of both he and Lovren speaks volumes.

Does it not occur to you that the whole thing came about by Pochettino promising new contracts, terms etc.. and then leaving. It's highly possible the board said until a new manager was appointed there would be no new contracts. If the entire fan base can lose it over Pochettino leaving how is it so unacceptable that a number of players began throwing their toys out of the pram. It happens all the time, especially as I've pointed out many times drink and being on vacation is concerned. People say things, do things under the influence that gets picked up by journos and blown out of all proportion.

Lovren spoke with Koeman last week, listened to what he had to say and told Koeman he knew now what he wants to do and will speak with his Agent. He has returned and joins the others and flown to Belgium. Sounds like our new optimism has swung into action and Koeman is getting his vision across. Onwards and Upwards Lovren returns to Saints 2:46pm Sunday 13th July 2014 in Sport Daily Echo: Photograph of the Author By Adam Leitch, Chief Sports Writer Daily Echo: Dejan Lovren Dejan Lovren DEJAN Lovren today returned to Saints - a week after admitting he had set his heart on a move to Liverpool. Boss Ronald Koeman said at his press conference on Friday that he expected the wantaway Croatian centre half to report back at the club today. Lovren has promptly done as requested and was part of the Saints party that left for a short pre season tour to Belgium today. Lovren handed in a transfer request prior to the World Cup starting, but Koeman insisted last Friday that he did not want to sell any more players.

High time someone started a NEW, OPTIMISTIC THREAD on Lovren and this thread is closed and put in the past. It's onwards and upwards from now on.

Cardiff just reported that Marshall has tweaked a muscle in training and will not be risked before the team leave on pre season tour for Austria next Thursday. Really hope we can get this signed and sealed in the coming days.
-
A really fantastic signing and hope he'll go on to score loads of goals for us. He really looks the role of star with immaculate teeth, and million dollar smile. Can see the club finally doing a Player Calender with all these good looking players. Just as long as Les and Sammy Lee don't want a look in.

Arsenal to concentrate on Khedira as Schneiderlin is ruled out This entry was posted in Arsenal News, Arsenal NewsNow, Arsenal rumours and tagged Khedira, Koeman, Schneiderlin on July 12, 2014 by admin. If Arsenal could get Sami Khedira as well as Alexis Sanchez then this would just about qualify as the best transfer window ever for Gooners. The Metro is today reporting that Arsene Wenger could be pulling out of the deal as the German international wants a big hike in his wages, but surely with the amount of money Arsenal have in the kitty this summer we could afford to pay his demands, especially as it will practically guarantee us more trophies this season. Some people will be thinking that Lars Bender may be more the type of player Arsenal need, but one thing seems to be sure; Morgan Schneiderlin will definitely not be coming to the Emirates, this summer at least. The Saints new manager Ronald Koeman insists that Southampton will not be selling any more of their players after the departures of Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana and Luke Shaw from the club. On Schneiderlin, Koeman plainly said: “The first meeting with (executive director) Les Reed was open and clear,” . “I knew about Lambert, Lallana and Shaw but after that we said, ‘OK, we are not a selling club – we want to keep the rest of the good players and bring new players in’. “We will continue with the Southampton philosophy which means we like to bring in young players and to continue what they did last season. “They had a fantastic season last season and still we have ambition to go forward.” “…….We don’t have any bids for Schneiderlin,” Koeman concluded. “He is a Southampton player and he will stay a Southampton player.” Personally Schneiderlin was my preferred defensive midfield target because of his excellent Premiership experience, but if we get Sami Khedira I won’t be too upset either!

After a 10 day holiday romp together in Marabella. on the occasion of Luke's 19th birthday today the happy couple seem to have decided to make a big announcement. Very hahahaha indeed

Pelle now in England to sign according to Feyenoord

Have to say Rupert Lowe had the right idea when it came to signing and keeping foreign players happy and ready to sign. Someone needs to remind Les that you sign them up in pairs i.e. they come in pairs. How many times did we bring along a foreign players boyfriend or mate. This is one for Saint Charlie to answer. Needs something to keep him occupied and his feet (aka opinions) on the ground By the way you miserable s o d s, it's my birthday today. Even Bearsy's forgotten.

Koeman's first Southampton press conference 11/7/14
ART replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
Can we expect the unveiling of another couple of signings? Seem that it would be appropriate to make this Press Conference something to remember to launch Koeman's reign at the club. -
Saint Charlie will be over the moon (literally) reading this news.

Beattie must be back on the muffins. Just read he's about to sign 38 year old Brett Ormerod for Accrington Stanley

Lovren has NOT refused to turn up, neither is he AWOL. He played in the World Cup unless it's slipped your memory and he has another 2 weeks before he's due to return. Unlike the likes of Lallana, Lovren handed in a transfer request when Pochettino walked out. The situation has changed and we only have his agent's quotes since. The club have stated they don't want him to leave. It is reported that Liverpool have offered 20 million but this is not so. They have offered 14 million to date. I am astonished that you David of all people can feed the trolls on here with complete untruths.
-
Really fantastic news but in the photo he looks older than the gaffer. Maybe in need of some Solent air and Hampshire lifestyle. Well done everyone involved in signing this potential legend and future Saints star.

These outrageous transfer fees clubs are paying has me thinking they've found a new way to cheat the taxman. It's out of hand but well done to the Board for taking full advantage of it.

Fulham just signed Ross McCormack for 11million!!! http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/transfers/ross-mccormack-to-fulham-leeds-accept-11m-fulham-offer-as-striker-prepares-to-sign-fouryear-deal-with-cottagers-9591050.html

Seems he needs a work permit to complete the deal, not only the medical

Thank you Markus for your generosity, your vision and for saving Southampton Football Club in her darkest hour. Your legacy lives on, but it has been with great sadness that you left us so soon, and, have been unable to celebrate the success your ambitions brought to the club. May you rest in eternal peace, knowing the happiness your gift has brought to so many.
