Just up from the Telegraph. We'll know better after tonight's big match http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/tottenham-hotspur/10854010/Tottenham-Hotspur-ready-to-move-for-Southampton-manager-Mauricio-Pochettino-if-Carlo-Ancelotti-says-no.html Tottenham Hotspur ready to move for Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino if Carlo Ancelotti says no Spurs will approach Southampton for their next manager if Real Madrid boss decides against move to White Hart Lane Mauricio Pochettino - Tottenham Hotspur ready to move for Mauricio Pochettino if Carlo Ancelotti says no In demand: Tottenham are likely to approach Southampton for permission to speak to manager Mauricio Pochettino Photo: PA Jason Burt By Jason Burt 4:40PM BST 24 May 2014 Tottenham Hotspur will make one final check to see whether Carlo Ancelotti is interested in becoming their new manager before making their move for Southampton’s Mauricio Pochettino next week. The Spurs board decided on Friday to approach Southampton to speak to Pochettino. Their only alternative would be if Ancelotti leaves Real Madrid following Saturday’s Champions League final but that does not appear likely. The attraction of returning to London would interest Ancelotti but his wage demands are likely to be prohibitive. The Italian, nevertheless, has a good relationship with Spurs’ director of football, Franco Baldini. Pochettino has been Tottenham’s first choice since the club decided not to take up the 12-month option on Tim Sherwood’s contract. Spurs have spoken to Rafael Benitez’s representatives in the knowledge that the Napoli coach would like to return to England but there has been no contact for more than two weeks.

The thought went thru my head that the departures of Doddsy and Willo might be related to whom the club have lined up to succeed Pochettino. Maybe it is someone who didn't appreciate them in the past.

Schneiderlin, it all Premiers pas en Bleu pour Schneiderlin. First steps in Blue for Schneiderlin. (Reuters) Axel Capron Published May 19, 2014 at 19:19 Updated May 19, 2014 at 10:03 p.m. New kid on the list of 30, joined Morgan Schneiderlin Clairefontaine Monday for the first day of the gathering of the Blues to the World Cup, obviously little intimidated by the context. If he knows that he will probably not be in Brazil, the midfielder Southampton intends to maximize its few days Blue to take its brands for Euro 2016. We experienced more intimidated! Upon departing Monday for his first press conference in the skin of an international A that is not quite yet, Morgan Schneiderlin has appeared unimpressed by the fact of being for a large quarter of an hour of questions pressed by a curious assistance, which on first impressions, which on its future, that his memories of World Cup ... Just before him give way, Didier Deschamps did not wish to disclose content words of welcome addressed to his arrival at the "Castle" to his youngest, just commenting: "The other eight (arrived Monday, ed) know him, this is the first time it is somebody. a casual enough to him to find his place and eight others to get comfortable. " Obviously, the Southampton midfielder was quickly felt comfortable and he has not sacrificed the ritual rookie in pushing the song to the group (that is planned for dinner Wednesday night when the main body arrives), it seemed like a fish in water when finding a center Clairefontaine he often attended with youth teams. With his Alsatian accent, the applicant, who is among six reservists Didier Deschamps ( Stéphane Ruffier , built in 23, is not), nonetheless recognized that A, it was something else: "The morning when you arrive by taxi and you climb the stairs of the castle, you are in a new dimension, you measure the distance traveled. This is the Holy Grail of football to arrive selection, I am a happy man, because I made a lot of sacrifices to get there. "Did he expect so soon to meet in Blue, who had hitherto never been called or named as a candidate for the" great "team France? "To be totally honest, there are three weeks not. But from the moment I received a pre-call team in France and I found myself in a list, I believed, yes, and I looked at the list carefully. "

Maybe Nixon just happens to be a well known forum poster who's been banned. After all the poster did claim to be in the know as does Nixon himself.Consequently he's getting his revenge by stirring up Saints supporters.

When it is reported that Pochettino has already spoken/been to see Spurs, we are not talking of Pochettino himself. The only person at this stage who could be involved will be his agent, whom we now know as being Jonathan Barnett. Barnett has had a long history with Saints and was the man who set up Wayne Bridge leaving Saints. Barnett was not one of Rupert Lowe's favorite persons but he was often to be seen at St Mary's back 10-12 years ago. Unless Pochettino's future is quickly decided, I don't hold out much for the World Cup success of all the Saints players who've been selected, unless these players have already sewn up leaving the club. Pochettino's decisions will have a big role to play in whether these players are at ease or on tenderhooks concerning their own futures.

Winning last nght's Eurovision was no fluke for the Austrian cross dresser. As himself Tom Neuwirth he's been dazzlng Juries and Audiences for the past 5 years. It is beyond me to know why he abandoned performing as a man. Firstly he sings better as a man and certainly isn't bad looking. I found this playlist of Tom's recordings performed "LIVE". It begins with his rendition of "Show Must Go On" [video=youtube;QEfaE-adwVU] As Tom he gives Shirley Bassey a run with Goldfinger. Stunning performance Catch his early Conchina Wurst performance of "My Heart Will Go On" before an Austrian jury. He totally blows away the jury and audience

Anyone in doubt on what a makeover could do, take a look at this transformation that created tonight's Eurovision winner.

I was on the point of not watching Eurovision tonight as I'd done also with BGT. Last year was the absolute limit is utter tripe. Would have been a huge mistake. Finally after years of corruption, pathetic songs and singers winning by the fixed voting system, The organisers, and this years hosts Denmark, have put some credibility back into the contest. The new voting and results systems made this a truly exciting finale to the program where we were privileged to a better than average string of songs and performers. The secrecy of the new format was for each country's panel vote, to vote after the 2 semi finals last night and their vote count be held till after each country's popular vote tonight. It gave a very different picture and did a lot to put a stop to cross border, buddy buddy voting that was obviously influenced as the results were read out. Still more to do but a big improvement. And the winner.............a beautiful voiced cross dresser with a beard but strong political beliefs that he/she wasn't afraid to voice on receiving the prize.

The plan is sheer nonsense and will cripple the Football League. We need a return to the former Football Combination Leagues North and South with a mixed of young and older skilled played. As Stan Collymore says, for youngsters to progress, they need to be up against old pros and not just players of their own age. I like the idea of link ups between Premier League clubs and clubs in the lower leagues. Been something I've supported for a long time.

This is the start of I met/spoke with Michael Wilde revisited with everyone will begin to compete to post the biggest bull s hit . Ralph will be posting on here soon if he isn't already.

As Team Captain what example, what inspiration and motivation is Adam giving to all the players, trainees by portraying this uncertain, and definitely, unsettling role. If indeed he does leave it will just show he should never have been made Captain in the first place. As said above, Clattenburg wasn't very far off the mark.

Should Pochettino leave, there is one really amazing candidate available who would be a wonderful choice. He was easily the best player of his generation, has spent the past 5 years learning his coaching and management at Real Madrid under the best in management. I speak of Zinedine Zidane who has made it clear the coming season he wants to find a club to put his skills to work in management.

Making me feel old reading this news of Wayne's retirement. At Saints Wayne was an incredible part of the squad and as said above, players like Shaw, would do well to keep in mind, the twists and turns in Bridgey's career after he left Saints. Wishing the guy all the very best for the future but grieving for what could have been had he remained with the club,.

I stated if the plane was shot down by a country, then this latest Al Qa|eda arrests may be part of a cover up for the authorities not wanting a shoot down exposed for reasons such a fact would have incredible repercussions. MI6 is now supposed to be questioning the Al Queda terrorists into the likehood MH370 was diverted and landed somewhere. http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-news/missing-flight-mh370-jet-linked-3496745

A further new twist in that 11 Al Qaeda Terrorists have been arrested suspected of involvement in the disappearance of MH370. There is a lot being kept from the public that we still don't know about. There wouldn't be all these conspiracy theories doing the rounds had everything been out in the open. Al Qaeda offers a superb scapegoat if MH370 was shot down and knowing the fact would be far too sensational with repercussions out of control. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2619388/What-havent-told-cargo-MH370-Mystery-deepens-missing-flight-claims-loaded-2-3tonnes-items-not-listed-manifest.html

Well it looks as if I might get to have the last laugh yet and be proved not to be talking nonsense. Cardiff for one, with a Malaysian chairman, would always try anything to avoid the drop. As OldNick points out, at the time, Sunderland were thought to be already relegated, but now it's a whole new ball game with 90 million involved if one of the clubs relegated can get Sunderland hauled over the coals and relegated instead of them. Sunderland will need to get maximum points and even then we don't know what the total of any eventual deduction might be. Foreign ownerships seem to have added further spice to the end of season.

Chambers, as Under 19's captain, has been very much in Hodgson's eye all season both with England and in Hodgsons frequent visits to Saints matches. Clyne blotted his England copybook at a time when he should have crept into the first team England squad. I don't think his performances in the last couple of games would have been enough for Roy to take another chance on him. The biggest injustice is Jack Cork having been out of the side for a long time when the qualifiers and friendly games were played. He wasn't even considered for the under 21's. Yet few will not admit he has been outstanding since his return, Roy will have noted this, but sadly not enough to take him along to Brazil. Another Saints player Roy rates very highly is Ward-Prowse and his ability to slot into a number of positions along with his exceptional corner and free kick accuracy, might just give him an outside chance if further players are injured.
-
If Pochettino includes De Prado in the final games, I'm sure he's not being serious in his selections. The guys leaving and to include him will take away a golden chance to blood promising youngsters.
-
The reason for the 1 year contract offer was due to him still not fully recovered from injury. Prior to injury he was at the height of his playing. It's a common procedure where crocked players are concerned to be wary of offering a long contract. Just look at how many at the time were at the club injured with long contracts. There was also the first signs of our future financial crisis and administration creeping into all decision making. In the interview Matt shows understanding for JayRod's current situation which he states are similar. He mentions it eventually took him 16 months to recover. Treatments and operations have improved from 2005-6 but Jay may also find himself in similar situation. Matt's involvement, since he left the club, along with James Beattie. at club charity events have shown he still holds great affection for Saints. There was talk a couple of years ago, of him returning to the club on the coaching side. Strachan strongly rated him and I have to day at his best he was a very good member of the Premiership team.

Just been announced on CNN and by Reuters that debris believed to be from MH370 has been found in the Bay of Bengal adding support to previous claims the 15th April Firm says finds plane debris in Bay of Bengal - CNN Tue Apr 29, 2014 8:23pm BST A woman prays for passengers on board the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 at Kechara retreat centre in Bentong outside Kuala Lumpur April 13, 2014. REUTERS/Samsul Said A woman prays for passengers onboard the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 at Kechara retreat centre in Bentong outside Kuala Lumpur April 13, 2014. (Reuters) - A private company said it had found what it believes is wreckage of a plane in the Bay of Bengal that should be investigated as possible debris from the missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370, CNN reported. The Joint Agency Coordination Centre managing the multinational search for the missing plane dismissed the possibility, saying it continued to believe that the plane came down in the southern Indian Ocean off Australia. The Bay of Bengal is located between India and Myanmar, thousands of miles from the current search area. The wreckage was reported by Australian geophysical survey company GeoResonance. "The company is not declaring this is MH370, however it should be investigated," CNN quoted GeoResonance as saying in a statement. (link.reuters.com/syr88v) GeoResonance says on its website that it offers a unique and proven method of geophysical survey that detects electromagnetic fields suggestive of subsurface deposits. Flight MH370, carrying 227 passengers and 12 crew, went missing in March en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing. http://uk.reuters.com/article/2014/04/29/uk-malaysiaairlines-bengal-idUKKBN0DF1QP20140429

What the hell is the matter with the Daily Mail ???
ART replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
Boys will be boys, girls will be girls............and player's and manager's AGENTS will be Agents, talking to the media, spreading rumors, all with their clients interests in mind. It's all part of the game that plays out year in and year out. Decisions are pending, waiting to see what Pochettino decides or doesn't decide. Should he end up at Spurs you can be certain every Tom, **** or Harry at the club will be seen in the media on their way to join up with him. How many players did Strachan sign up when he left, or how many followed Nigel to Reading? Pochettino's decision is what will count, will influence events where players are concerned. Ambitions talk, perhaps louder than money. If the club, the board, show both to the manager, to the players, our future will proceed in the right direction. Should doubt, hesitation and lack of be the order of the day. we know what to expect. -

Interesting to see AFC Wimbledon have been deducted 3 points by the Football League. Once again this shows different standards between the Football League and the Premier League. Deducting Sunderland 3 points would surely result in them being relegated unless they win all remaining games. Can see the likes of Cardiff protesting and calling foul before long. http://www.sportinglife.com/football/news/article/165/9287785/afc-wimbledon-deducted-points
