  1. Very good. I love the last bit about usain bolt.
  2. They are actually still touring. Still terrific, and with most of the original lineup. Their new(ish) album is excellent, 2032.
  3. ...oh, and in no particular order; Pistols, never mind the b*llocks Clash, London calling Specials, first album Floyd, Animals Pirates, Shaking with the devil. Bubbling under, Feelgoods Stupidity and anything by Wilko, Police Regatta de blanc, Tubes What do you want from Live, Joy divisions Closer, Gong with Camembert Electrique and the Flying Teapot, The Slits Cut, Led Zep 3 and 4, The Cure Seventeen seconds, Gang of four Entertainment, Elvis Costello Get Happy and Armed forces, TRB Winter of 89, Banshees The Scream, Vibrators V2, Thin Lizzy Jailbreak/johnny the fox, and for some bizarre reason, Buggles Age of plastic and the soundtrack to Body Heat.
  4. Did you know they released a remastered version of that a couple of years back? And it sounds genuinely better. I saw them in NY on my 50th birthday, Fee Waybill signed a copy for me.

    ITV news

Its not closing, we're selling it to Liverpool.
  6. And I could have got laid last night on National Orgasm Day, if only I could have woken the wife up.
  7. I nudged my wife in bed last night, and whispered "Did you know it's "National Orgasm Day?" "Oh, what a pity," she yawned, turning away. "Right in the middle of National Headache Week."
  8. My wife looked up from her computer. "What does 'teabagging' mean?" she frowned. "Jenny just tweeted some jokey comment about it." I explained it to her. "Yuck," she said, "how come you know that? Have you tried it?" "Yes," I admitted. "Years ago, long before I met you." "So what was it like?" she asked. "Quite exciting, actually" I replied. "But it took ages to get the taste out of my mouth."
  9. Well said. Kelvin has been fantastic for us, whatever role he's played; keeper in the lower leagues, club captain, goalkeeping coach, club mentor. How quickly people forget, but we still expect loyalty from the mercenaries shipping out as we speak.

So, I could loan in all my employees, and just write off their wages against my profits?? Bargain! (if I had any employees. Or profits. )
  11. I suspect that most of us will be increasing our alcohol intakes this season. New corporate sponsor...."Southampton FC, proud to serve Carlsberg Special Brew...."

    I preferred everything pre-twitter.
  13. Badger's right, I recall comments along those lines during the WC about the feyenoord system. I'd also hope goatboy is correct. Pochettino did seem tactically like a bit of a one-trick pony, got the best out of the team but didn't have much of a backup plan when it went badly.
  14. Yes, I thought that. Doesn't Koeman favour a straight 4-3-3?
  15. Or the Blue Square.
  16. Monty Python isn't a bad subject to interject with at the moment, this could become another 60s/70s totty diversion to take our minds off the colossal carcrash presently wending its way towards us. Might I also suggest the Infinite Improbability Drive, where we end up winning the title?
  17. Good idea mate, but they learned that lesson with Blackburn.
  18. That's news to me, are you sure? Hadn't heard that before at all.
  19. The fans don't sign the players. It doesn't matter what they think, the board/manager decide who gets signed.
  20. .....out of 20 teams. Hardly earth-shattering odds.
  21. Mildly interesting point from a man u fan about luke shaw. Looks like mourinhos talk of 110k+ wages might be b*llocks, and that RK has a few quid more to play with than we thought.... http://www.manchesterunitedrumours.co.uk/ Ed002 from this site is very 'in the know'. He's American and got Fabregas to Chelsea 2 months before it happened. You'll see a few notes from him and you can tell by the amount of people asking him for info just how highly regarded he is on there. Anyway, he says the fee was £32m rising to £34m. Chelsea enquired in January are were completely put off by the fee and weren't willing to pay. United were. Wages are 60k according to him.
