  1. If we have to have an "onto to pitch" track, I'm happy enough with the Skids one, myself.
  2. 74 fans killed at a Port Said football match last February. 21 more of the fans sentenced to death this morning. A spokesman for the Egyptian football league said "We are absolutely gutted. Just two more, and we would have overtaken Hillsborough."
  3. If he does go to liverpool, could I be the first to say that we didn't really want him anyway?
  4. When I first heard the headline, "He kicked me in the ball", I thought what was lance armstrong doing there?
  5. DHHS. (Dept of Horses Head Supplies.) From field to pillow in two hours or your money back.
  6. Quelle surprise, the current Saints board are normally so free with information about ongoing transfer targets.
  7. Piano, pretty well, guitar, pretty badly. What do you play, Jamie? And are there any musical instruments on the subs? (I picture the boat sinking into the cold, murky depths, silent except for a harmonica wailing a plaintive tune........)
  8. "Steve Cotterill is still out of work as are Mark Hughes and Roberto Di Matteo, can't see Hughes lowering his sights/demands enough but Di Matteo might be a possibility."
  9. It will be interesting to see who else we do sign, if not this lad. Presumably Pochettino was brought in at this moment to give him some leeway during the January transfer window, and judging by the espanyol links with Coutinho, he was a prime target. Still think it might happen, liverpool aren't necessarily as attractive a proposition as they think they are.
  10. I'd recommend doing a short 'taster'-type cruise before booking a full one. Its definitely not for everyone, we did one from Athens up to Istanbul and back via the Greek islands, would never go on that type of holiday again. I can understand the attraction of it, and I can't fault the ship or its service, but being cooped up like that drove me mad, never again. Some of the liners do short Med cruises for a few days, they aren't expensive and you can get an idea of what to expect. As someone once said, if you want to know what a three month holiday on a cruise ship is like, go on a one day cruise.
  11. If you have plenty of family or friends there, the healthcare is fine. My brother in law has only a disabled wife, and (in Malaga at least) the system does not involve feeding or washing. Family are expected to do that for you, and if they dont, nobody will. Can you imagine the uproar if that happened here?
  12. Three hours outside today and I am in the "global warming theory is correct, but I'm stacking another load of wood in the stove anyway" camp.
  13. According to the BBC, the scousers have upped their interest in coutinho, presumably with a raised bid. I still think this could go our way because of the espanyol link.
  14. Its a vaguer promise than some are suggesting, anyway. If the conservatives are elected next time, (on their own, not as part of a coalition,) and after they have renegotiated our EU position, (how likely is that,) they will in any case campaign for the status quo anyway, according to Cameron. Which means that all three major parties will be campaigning on the same side. I suppose the implied threat might just strengthen Cameron's hand when trying to renegotiate with the EU, but they'll almost certainly see straight through that and face him down, especially now that the yanks have stuck their oar in and told us to behave.
  15. Yes. Hazard was clearly frustrated by chelsea's recent inability to beat Saints at stamford bridge.
  16. That clip is really funny. I suppose the ref had no choice, but that jug-eared little pikey rolling around as if he'd been stabbed by a drug dealer is priceless. edit, just saw this on sicki; Hazard kicked the ball boy for keeping the ball. Torres would've missed him, Cole would've shot him and Terry would have sh*gged his wife.
  17. They probably don't. My brother-in-law has been forced to move back to the UK precisely because of this, he had been resident in Spain for about 6 years, had a heart attack, and discovered the unalloyed joys of the Spanish health "service". I saw it for myself, and will never criticise the NHS again.
  18. Interesting philosophical point. You could be correct.
  19. Cu. But only if you say it out loud in a heavy scots accent.
  20. I only saw 30-odd minutes of the first half, had to collect the Mrs from work, but thought we looked pretty impressive against an Everton side on probably the best streak of form they've ever had. Morgan looked terrific, and the pressing and closing down tactic was effective. Maybe it was a different viewpoint over the entire game and at the stadium, but Gaston looke pretty underwhelming from what little I saw. Negatives: only a point from a game we looked like winning during the the first 45. Positives: decent start for MP, a point against a very good side, no nonsense with white handkerchiefs, and another pint owed to me I reckon (I predicted 2-2, he reckoned 1-2 Everton.) Both wrong of course, but imo the pint goes to the result as opposed to the score

  23. To be fair, it has been a bit parky.
