It can indeed. And I have to confess to posting somewhat drunkenly about our situation on another, ahem, not entirely salubrious website myself. NC has now been added to the hallowed hall of infamy that is C*nts Corner.

I heard that interview this morning, and the two things MLT said that struck me particularly were the comment about Cortese "hanging the new manager out to dry" at the press conference, which I thought was a fair comment. The other; MLT stressed the point quite strongly that the chairman had the right to make this decision, regardless of the fans feelings. That was also a valid point.

Lawrenson 0-2 prediction and comments on new manager

I agree, but that doesnt mean he knows absolutely nothing about the players, does it? I knew nothing about Pochettino until friday, he must know something about our players. -
Lawrenson 0-2 prediction and comments on new manager

The bit about MP knowing nothing about the players is probably wrong, I imagine he has actually done the research he claims to have. Lawrensons a prat imho. Spouts opinions as if they were gospel, I notice he hasn't said much about Ramirez after flatly dismissing the possibility that he might consider joining us. -

Well, its off my chest anyway Good thread, DPS.

Right, we've all had the night to sleep on it and the morning to mull it over in retrospect. Great idea for a thread, DPS. First things first, the team we all love are still the team we should support and I'll be doing that regardless of who is in charge. The only time I didn't was when Branfoot had us playing vile hoofball, and I honestly dont know whether I would have if Redknapp had been re-appointed, which thankfully didn't happen. The new guy might be hopeless, but he might be fantastic. I imagine he's an unknown quantity to most of us, I never heard of him before yesterday tbph. We need to get behind him and the team in the interests of our club. BUT.... I remain absolutely dismayed by this move. Nigel Adkins seemed so much like the perfect manager for us, you just cant argue with his record of two promotions in two seasons, or the obvious fact that he had the players and fans so much onside, could any other manager really have turned Jason Puncheon into the motivated top-flight player that he is now? Would any other manager have got the approval ratings of 95%+ on the "good move/bad move" thread yesterday? I really thought Nigel was going to be our Alex Ferguson, here for the long term, learning and growing with the side and giving us long-term stability and consistency. Our best times have always been when we've had a manager for a decent chunk of time, (Bates, Lawrie Mac,) we have always struggled when we chopped and changed at the drop of a hat or tried out "experiments" like the Poortvliedt duo. Nigel clearly was learning from his prem experience, the results have been steadily improving and I felt pretty confident that we would stay up this season, and consolidate the next. Now, I dont know what the hell to expect, or even hope for. The reaction of fans on other teams' messageboards says it all. Those below us are looking at this with undisguised glee, and those above us are scratching their heads in disbelief. I've had a stream of texts from mates in Stoke, Liverpool, Manchester, Cardiff, Wigan and Blackburn, (and even, dare I say it, from a mate who supports p*mp*y,) none of whom have been able to understand this decision. Yesterday could be a turning point for the Saints, or it could be a disastrous undoing of everything the club have achieved with Nigel Adkins at the helm. Lets just hope it proves to be the former.

The portuguese generally hate the spanish with a real vengeance. If you holiday there, never try using spanish to communicate with the locals, they will be insulted.

If you set foot in Westquay smirker, youre a braver man than me.

How much do you know about the new manager then?

What would you be prepared to do to bring Nigel back?
scotty replied to Tokyo-Saint's topic in The Muppet Show
I'd be prepared to film you taking it up the arse from Bearsy. Again. I'll even film it for posterity and post it online. -
In his first move as Southampton FC manager, Mauricio Pochettino has renamed St Marys Stadium as "Stade Las Malvinas".
-
ffs. FFS. I cant believe this, just now got in from work. Had a stream of texts saying Nigel had been sacked, I thought the first one was possibly a misreading of the earlier thread, and I thought the second one was taking the plss. Then I realised they were serious. Watching the chelsea game when the fans were having a pop at Benitez, I was honestly thinking "thank christ we arent like that". How wrong can you be, this is an appalling decision. FFS.

"Saints considering Mauricio Pochettino" - Daily Mirror
scotty replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
To be fair alps, there was probably a hell of a lot more than football involved in the Pardew sacking. -
Well, I'm off to work anyway. No workee=no money.

Could be worse turks, you could have been the michael mcintyre.
-
He's a good player imho. He struggled a bit last night, but we were up against a massively expensive side. That strike from SRL's layoff against citeh was terrific, and he held his own in that game. I've wondered why he hasn't started more regularly, what with his prem experience tbh.

Tesco have added to their 'Value' range, with a budget line of individual cream-cheese portions. Theyre calling it The Laughing Horse.

I think it was intentional, reminded me of that beautiful cushioned through-ball he played for Nat Clyne for the 2nd (?) against villa at SMS.
