  1. Seen him play loads of times and know a lot of Nerazzurri fans who are not exactly upset he has gone. However I think he has potential if he can learn to keep the ball rather then do step overs every 5 seconds and lose the ball. Not sure how he will adapt to having little time on the ball in comparison to Serie A. Hopefully big Ron can get the best out of him. Its a shame Osvaldo went mental as he is a quality player. Another example of a guy with talent but his destructive personality hold him back.
  2. When my Villa friend saw this he text me to say "haha unlucky mate". I guess he is a good player then!
  3. We should of done that after Lambert went. You cant have an atmosphere of players being able to go when they want at a club. It tells everybody in the club if they want out they can go too. In fact didn't Koeman or someone say they only want people here who want to play for the club? Morgan needs to act more professionally but you can't blame him for wanting out if everybody else is going.
  4. Something doesn't seem quite right. Didn't Ralph say the club had not been in contact with Spurs regarding MS and JR? So if this is Morgan throwing a fit over not being able to leave then surely that must mean either he has been tapped up or someone isn't telling the truth? If there is no bid for him then why be upset about staying?
  5. I think there are multiple definitions of what is actually a fire sale. The oxford dictionary also mentions "A sale of goods or assets at a very low price". Now we could argue all we want on what is a really low price or how good a price for xyz player is. But like I said Lambert COULD fall into that definition. That's my opinion. Might be right, might be wrong. But anyhow my point is the comments were meant to reassure fans and that was the 'intent'. It could be seen that we were 'mislead'. Or those of us who interpreted the meaning of the comments in the way I did.
  6. If you believe that then good for you. I don't. You might want to give Big Adam a call, and those at Sky who said it looked like a fire sale. Maybe you can give them some advice on them misinterpreting those statements too.
  7. Nit pick away, that's what forums are for! However I disagree. If you tell people your intentions and go the total opposite way then that isn't right. If you told that to shareholders you would be in serious trouble. As I said above Lambert went for less then previously agreed. Isn't that the definition of a fire sale? Either way I think Les meant with that statement many players would not leave. That is my interpretation of it. It would seem the media see it the same way. The words might be different but I believe the intent is the same.
  8. Selling the second top assister in the league who also scored 10+ goals for £4m when we supposedly accepted £7m only a few months earlier does not fit your definition of a fire sale?
  9. "my priority now is to bring some stability and calm to the workings of the club" - KL - Would say things become even more unstable no? "We want to retain the players we’ve got. They are all contracted. They all have existing contracts and we intend for them to honour those contracts. Any enquiries we get will probably be met with a ‘no – not for sale’. Our intention is to keep this very good team together and build on it by bringing new players to improve on that." - Les Reed. 5 of those players didn't honour their contracts and were not met with a 'not for sale' were they? "We will tend to develop a squad that’s capable of not just maintaining the position we’re in but improving next season. Therefore, it’s a positive message we want to get out there. I think our fans deserve to understand that there is not going to be a fire-sale here. We have repeatedly said that" - Very positive message, selling your talisman, three of your back four. Your creative midfielder etc. There will be no fire sale. So what do you call selling off potentially 70% of the outfield starters? "However, our intention is to keep all of our core players – I wouldn’t want people to think I’ve just opened the door for transfers, that’s not the case" - - Oh really? "We feel very comfortable that we have a plan that can deal with the situation and we are definitely not factoring in a big player sale," he says. "We're pretty sure that there are no more surprises and that being the case, we feel comfortable that we're going to be good. And that we will be able to keep this group together" - Ralph - Does he mean the group of tea ladies? There are plenty more but I think you get the point.
  10. Yep. The sad thing is though like I said when he was brought in. He is just the fall guy. The man brought in to take the heat.
  11. Don't believe anything he says at all, nor that of KL or Reed.
  12. Especially the bit about Lambert being sold. If we had accepted a £7m bid why would we then accept a bid half of that offer 4 months later? The whole negative thing towards NC some have on here is pretty funny, because if you read the players comments about him they have nothing but praise for him. Some going as far to say he is really close to them. Even Lambert said about him "I'm not just saying it because I am at Southampton but I think other chairmen need to take a look at how he (Cortese) has done things and make it an example". That was only a few weeks prior to this supposed bid being accepted. And the supposed sacking of MoPo....That is laughable. If that was the case why would he be upset about Cortese leaving and thinking about walking away? Didn't KL have to convince him to stay on? The rest of it is pretty decent but all based on personal opinion.
  13. Yep, and the sad thing is she will probably release a statement with more bull**** and people will believe that. I said in January something was not right. 7 months on and I am more convinced then ever she wants the £££ and then will split.
  14. They don't care. Why would they? They want to be successful and if players are available then they are going to buy them. We could of said no. We didn't. I think if anything they will be shocked at how easy it has been for them to get those players. no resistance at all.
  15. The clubs? Or does every penny made become KL's?
  16. At this rate Ronald Mcdonald will have to come out of retirement
  17. In my view it doesn't matter how much we get for them because it isn't our money. People seem convinced all this cash will be put back into the team.
  18. She is to blame as ultimately she has to be the one to sign off on the deals. I doubt the board would sanction the sell off of the players without her approval. Either way I am sure ML would not be happy with what is going on. He always seemed like an open and honest guy and you could see his genuine love for the club.
  19. True (although a few left on loan) the point remains. Saying your prime objective is stability and then going through what we are now going through is a complete joke no?
  20. Not as incredible as reading this statement from Kat " The past week has been a period of transition for the club. I wanted to address you directly to clearly set out my position and expectations for the immediate future. After the developments of last week, my priority now is to bring some stability and calm to the workings of the club; perhaps a few smiles too. Having inherited Southampton Football Club following my father’s untimely passing, I am delighted and proud of the exhilarating period of success that the team and the staff has enjoyed these past few years, buoyed by the unstinting support of the fans. I am absolutely committed to ensuring that the club continues this success. I have met our manager Mauricio Pochettino and have given him my complete support to build on the good work that has already been achieved. We have also said that we have no plans to sell any of the squad during the January transfer window. Yesterday I met the rest of the staff and gave them the same message of support. We are now in the top half one of the most competitive leagues in the world, playing attractive football with a young and ambitious team, and poised to move into world-class training facilities. We have much to be thankful for. I am particularly excited that the Southampton tradition of nurturing and providing young talent with first team opportunities is set to flourish with the strong academy foundation we have put in place. Off the pitch, my priority is to establish the proper running of the club at the top. I also have a strong team of advisers around me as we plan the way forwards. As soon as we have more news to share, we will do so. We are looking to the future with a determination to create a culture based on open communication, respect and hard work. Finally, let me say this. I will ensure that all decisions made about the future of the club will be in the best interests of its staff, players, management and fans and will be taken with the prime objective of honouring and maintaining the club's heritage and tradition in the Southampton way." Biggest load of horse **** I ever read.
  21. I think a lot of people defending the sales really need to look at that. It is very scary to see what we have given up in terms of percentages and stats.
  22. "decision to award Harrison Reed a new long-term contract last week, adding to the list of committed young professionals like James Ward Prowse, Sam Gallagher, Jack Stephens, Jordan Turnbull, Matt Targett, Sam McQueen and others who have seen plenty of first-team activity recently" Which means **** all as they can leave as soon as they "see their future away from the club". Do not believe a word KL or any other board member says to be honest.
  23. Lot's of faith in the board on here. Really hope they are right because if not some people are going to look really bad. Time will tell.
  24. We will have to agree to disagree then. Lots of companies sell their main assets before selling the company. That's the best way to maximise profits. If the company was struggling then it would sell anything and everything of value and then shut down. In that sense I don't think that is happening here. What I do think COULD be happening is KL is possibly looking to sell or reclaim the investment she and her father have put into the club plus interest. It is far easier to do that by selling parts of the company then sell the whole company. Time will see if that is right or not. I honestly hope it isn't. But when you see her say she wants to take the club forward and put trust in our youngsters then sell said youngsters it's hard to believe her.
