£1 million every time he says "I can only see my future lying with Liverpool Football Club." £10 million for every time he says "If someone was to say that I'd end my career playing for Liverpool in the Premier League then I'd snap your hand off for it"
-
If he has handed in a transfer request then the board need to make a stand. Lallana has been with us for a long time and I am sure we can all respect his wish to play at a bigger club. However he has to respect the fact he only signed a new deal last year, a bumper deal. We are not here to make players dreams come true, we are here to be competitive with the players who are under contract for us. If he throws a hissy fit then let him play in the reserves. Liverpool stood up to Suarez and he still acted professional (even if he did try and re-create something from silence of the lambs). Adam needs to do the same. If we let him go because of his wish to go then it opens up the door for everyone else to leave when they see fit. You can't run a company/club like that. It shows you to be weak.

selling Lambert, selling Lallana, selling Shaw and possibly Loveren, Bringing in a hockey coach, not talking to players and letting them know of the plan, not holding on to the manager, sacking club servants like Dodd etc You would of had a field day and you know it

Would Jeff and Sour think that if Cortese had made those decisions?
-
I said the same thing in January and was laughed at. http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?48857-Cost-Cutting#.U4mjqk1OWUk However I don't think it is to sell the club as it would make more sense to do that now with all assets still here. The valuation would be more. I think just as I did then it is about getting rid of the high earners and the more expensive players and replace them with cheaper options. Maybe after a few sales spend £10m on one player and they will say that's showing ambition etc.. My guess would be now she wants to maximise profits and try and keep as much of the PL money as possible. Which is very dangerous as Norwich did the same thing. Time will tell if that's right or not, and I really hope it is wrong.

It would appear the guy who gave the interview disagrees "Although chairman Ralph Krueger had said before Liverpool's bid arrived that all transfer dealings were on hold until a replacement for Mauricio Pochettino was appointed" http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/11246786.Lambert_sale_a_reluctant_one_for_Saints/?ref=mr Guess it does go to show how words can be taken to mean many things these days. Maybe that is why the old regime never said much!
-
Don't believe it. If you watch the interview Ralph did with BBC the other day he said "Southampton is in the best position it has ever been". Plus if true it would also mean KL was bull****ting when she said "With great regret we have accepted the resignation of Mr Cortese, He has done a wonderful job at the club and we very much wanted him to stay." If we take into account we owe £30m for transfer fees that is dwarfed by the £75m we got from PL TV money, not including all other revenues. Add to that we let a lot of players leave last January and Cortese himself was on about £2m a year which was saved. We also had amongst the lowest Agent fees. Then we got around £15m for finishing 8th. Just got £2m for losing MP (if that was actually paid). There is no financial issues as far as I am concerned.

You sure you not talking about Rolf Harris?
-
In jail probably. ..

Good goal there. Has Well**** even touched the ball yet?

Other then a few I believe they did go down hill. Some (Eto) went purely for the money. Some however continued to progress Laudrup, Cannavaro. Some however couldn't repeat the feats they had at their new clubs i.e Forlan. Lambert has shown he can stay fit, he has a good mentality and keeps himself healthy. I think he will get better at Liverpool due to the players around him. But he won't be playing 37 of the 38 PL games for Liverpool, far from it. But he won't be one of those players to go downhill. I put him in the same bracket as players like Gerrard and Lampard. They can play for a long time because they have that desire to play football and look after themselves. People are saying he will be there for a year or two. I bet you he will still be playing at 35. And still banging in the goals.
-
Where did I mention Zidane or the Ronaldo bros? I believe he is world class. Not Ronaldo or Messi type World Class because very few are. Torres for example has won everything would you consider him world class? RL has 75 PL games and 28 goals. That's a 37% strike rate. You will struggle to find English strikers with the same rate.
-
I don't find that ridiculous at all. He is better then them at those periods, he has a better strike rate then of Eto at Anhzi. Carvallo after his 1st season went on to play a huge 17 games in the next 2 seasons. Laudrup would be the only one I would say was better. If he was not good then why would the team who finished second want to buy him?
-
So someone who is top 5 in regards to combination points (Assists and goals) in the hardest league in professional football is not world class? Even though he plays for a world team?
-
Depends on what you consider his ability level? Some on here seem to be implying he is past it when in reality he is coming off having 13 goals and 10 assists putting him in the top 5 in combination points. Plus he is going to the world cup. So in my opinion he is better then all those I listed because scoring goals and creating them is the hardest thing to do in this league. So if say Parker went for £4m to Fulham at the same age who was recently also an international it sort of puts it into a perspective that he would be worth more no?
-
Only one I mentioned was a keeper. But to counter it I will add a few more then Blanc, Henry (Colin) Lucio, Parker, Dodo, Anderson, Ze Roberto. Can add more if you like?
-
Cannavaro Given Carvallho Sensini Laudrup Weah Lucarelli Lima Demichalles Forlan Mackaay etc etc Give it up mate you are having a mare

Yes so again shouldn't that increase the price if you want one of the few quality English players?
-
Shouldn't that then mean his price goes up? If there is little quality around you normally have to pay big bucks for it.
