  1. "my priority now is to bring some stability and calm to the workings of the club I am absolutely committed to ensuring that the club continues this success. I have met our manager Mauricio Pochettino and have given him my complete support to build on the good work that has already been achieved Finally, let me say this. I will ensure that all decisions made about the future of the club will be in the best interests of its staff, players, management and fans" Anyone still believe this ****?
  2. Gutted. Wish him well. Time for our board to grow a pair or get the **** out. How long before we get a "We had a dream for the club blah blah, we now look for the bestest manager blah blah" statement. Totally useless. Freddy Kruger can do one
  3. Will be there too, can't wait. Some good undercard fights too. Froch will probably win via knockout. He made way too many mistakes in the first one which I can't see him repeating. If he turns up in the way he did against Bute then Groves is in for some serious pain.
  4. It is on sale for £8 on steam today.
  5. Hard one to say really. I would go for AVB at Zenit, granted he has not won anything there but I think he would want out of Russia and ticks our boxes.
  6. Mali group is the main name for 5 of Markus's businesses. CRT Common Rail Technologies AG = dead http://www.moneyhouse.ch/en/u/mali_common_rail_technologies_ag_CH-020.3.022.777-4.htm Mali Motan AG = dead http://www.moneyhouse.ch/en/u/mali_motan_ag_in_liquidation_CH-217.3.532.363-7.htm BSG Bodensee steuergeräte = Vanished Can't be bothered to look for the other 2 as I imagine they are dead too
  7. The question is why would he want to go? Does the clubs vision and his match? I am sure if they did he would want to continue here. After all Spurs were only a few spaces above us.
  8. Went into liquidation yes
  9. Nope. I will think the way Adkins was sacked was brutal and disrespectful until the day I die. The guy deserved to be treated with respect. But I just do not think he would of taken us any further then he did. He had a good squad of players who would of done well in the lower leagues regardless of manager. He has not done too well at Reading despite being there since march 2013. He has won 20 and lost 20.
  10. Exactly. It really shocks me how dumb people can be at times. If someone brought you into a company because they liked you and believed in you then you will feel respect towards that guy. If then someone new comes in, replaces the guy who brought you in, removes some other staff, and will then remove some of your fellow work colleagues what will you be thinking? You will naturally be questioning why you are there. It isn't about loyalty towards the company it is about believing that the company makes the right decisions which in turn make you want to be there. I am sure most of us have moved jobs because key reasons why we were there changed. That is life.
  11. Source?
  12. To be fair though for the majority of those we got rid of people on our terms and brought in better. At the time we thought those decisions were cold hearted (adkins) but what was obvious was we had a vision and Cortese knew exactly what needed to be done. Do you have faith in the current regime to do what he did? Personally I think not. KL is not a football person, she is not a business person. Under her the Mali Group went under. I honestly believe that maybe it is time she sold up. You cannot bluff your way through business in the way she is without it having a serious effect on the company. Sadly this company is our football club.
  13. Why not? We gave him his first job since leaving Spain. We gave him funds to buy players. We allowed him to do his interviews in a different language even though that is not normal in the PL. And so on. By all accounts he has become quite close to the players. There are plenty of things that would make him stay loyal. Maybe because the guy who brought him in has left, players who is close to seem to be leaving and he might not have the funds to bring in replacements makes him question what he is actually being loyal too? I don't think he is this disloyal person you are trying to portray.
  14. If he had not done well for them he would of been out on his ass. He would not have become our manager at all. Like I said it is about progressing.
  15. I don't agree. MP has been offered jobs when at Espanyol but he stayed there. I don't think you can question his loyalty. Being rumoured with bigger clubs is part and parcel of football. How many clubs was he linked to whilst with us? Remember the Madrid rumours? If he goes which it looks as he is then I would suspect it is down to wanting to progress in his career. If our board and him do not share the same vision then what is the point? Would you stay in your job if you were told you would be losing key resources and had your hands tied in trying to replace them? I wouldn't. We go forwards not backwards. I won't blame the board for him going, won't blame the board if we lose players. I will however blame them if they bring in cheap alternatives that were always destined to fail. I will blame them and praise them on their decisions. They were not the ones who brought in our manager and the current squad.
  16. That question cannot be answered until the new season starts. If we sell players and don't buy any or any of quality then maybe. If we don't sell, we add to the squad then it's a clear no. But right now there a few indicators which can easily point to her intentions being to do so. Appointment of people with no business knowledge, no football knowledge. Losing Addidas and taking on a potential low cost sponsor. The removal of academy staff etc. Add to that all the rumours about our future. I think most people would agree the current board has acted a bit amateurish in a few things they have done recently. The other thing I don't understand (maybe I am think) is this whole "spend his own money" thing. How many chairman spend their own money exactly? Levy doesn't spend his at Spurs, Avram doesn't spend his at Man Utd, Keswich doesn't spend his at Arsenal, Buck doesn't spend his at Chelsea and so on. The chairman is there to run the club and be the bridge between the owner and the club. They will implement the owners wishes/desires on how that club should run. What I find alarming about those kind of comments is are they suggesting KL should no longer invest in the club? That KL should stop spending money and get us to a point where we only use what we earn? If they want this then wouldn't it be wise for her to sell now while the club is at it's peak and let someone else then take on the responsibility of the club?
  17. Again with this money thing...If you say it enough times it might be true right? So on record Sour are you saying the club is in financial trouble? The way I see it we just got £70m. Minus the debts of £30m = profit right? Plus it isn't real debt if you buy assets with it which he did. Assets which can be sold to recoup money or even make a profit from. That's called business. You like to portray that he spent money that was just ****ed down a drain....
  18. Again you are not reading what I have said or simply do not understand it.... So let me put it a different way. So we supposedly earned £70m from TV fees this season. We are about to sell (if rumours are true) Lallana for around £25m and Shaw for around £30m. Add to that the possibility of selling Lovren for £15m and Mopo going which brings in £2m through his contract. That would be around £140m brought into the club. Are you honestly saying from the 'vibes' you are getting that money will be re-invested into the club to buy suitable replacements that would enable the club to push on? Honestly?
  19. Bit unfair isn't it considering it was Alex's dad who pretty much forced him to move?
  20. How many chairman in the PL actually spend their own money by the way?
  21. That isn't what I said. I said if the plan was for the club to simply stay in the PL and take in the revenues ala Norwich whilst the owner taking the majority of what is earned, sends out a lack of ambition to the players/staff. If our goal was to survive rather then push forward do you really think players would want to stay/come here?
  22. I tend to agree with this. However I think what he is trying to say is that under him he had a clear idea of how the club could progress and that the players bought into it. Saying our aim was European football within a few years is something they might of wanted to be apart of with the club. Right now indications look that we don't have that ambition, we don't know what the plans are. If it is a simple case of making £70m a year through the PL and someone pocketing the majority of that it sends out the message to the players that if they want to progress to European football it won't be happening here. Which by accounts (all rumour) is why some want to leave. Personally I think the board really do need to come out now and state what our aims are. If they don't want to fund the club and try and make it go forwards then maybe it is time they sold it to someone who would. There would be plenty of business companies/people who would want to buy a top 8 PL club with the infrastructure we have in place.
  23. What about all the money we have made from being in the PL?
  24. Is it racist to say we should now be seriously looking at who comes into the country? The whole open borders thing was just stupid to begin with. As a small island we shouldn't be at 50m people let alone 63m. By 2035 they expect it to be around 73m-76m. Like I said I don't think it is racist to say maybe we should now be looking at limiting the population increase. It is stupid not to look at it.
