Exactly. I don't think people are getting carried away. A better way to look at it is; we are not as good as teams like Arsenal. But are we closer to them then we were this time last year? Without a doubt. And for me that is all that matters, that we keep progressing forward, we keep closing the gap between us and the teams above us. Never in my life did I think we would be signing players like Osvaldo and the fact we are investing our money in the playing side rather then the owners pockets' (i.e Portsmouth) means there is a lot to be optimistic about. Like Jimmy said if people are not happy to SUPPORT the club right now and be happy with where we are they never will be. Which means you should re-evaluate why you are not only on here but why you follow the club at all? This thread is nothing more then an attack on Saints fans by the usual suspects again.

Hard to say really. I think it is obvious Roma want him gone as they need money just like most of the other clubs in Italy. But it all boils down to who is in for him and right now it looks as though we are the only ones. The problem I doubt is about wages it is probably about him wanting to progress in his career and we would obviously be a step back. Especially as it is a World Cup year next year. However I don't think playing for us means he wouldn't get picked. Giaccherini just moved from Juve to Sunderland and he played in every game at the recent Confederations cup. So moving to a non CL team does not mean you won't get picked. So it is hard to call it really. I hope he joins as he is a quality player but I think all it will take is a club to come in at the last minute who can offer CL or even Europa League football and we will lose out. But if we have offered anywhere between £12m-£20m then I can't see many teams wanting to pay that.

And right there is what's wrong with the National team. Look at the desire of the Scotland players and look at ours. Same old players, same old performances. If we get beat or draw expect the same old bull**** about how the PL is to blame, how there need to be a break (even though they just had a 3 month one....) etc etc.

This time last year we had signed 4 players. Two from The championship, One from league two and one from a team in Scotland who were in admin. Starting life back in the PL I would of said that was a time to worry, not now. We have added 2 players to the squad. Both who played in the CL and both internationals. It is about quality not quantity. Ramirez, Yoshida and Mayuka signed a few days before the transfer deadline. I expect there will be more players coming in and going out. I think the forum has been invaded by a few skates tbh. It is becoming easier to spot them.

But who wants this exactly? Looking at the fallout from it I think it is pretty clear that the vast majority see it for what it really is and are against it. Like I said above it starts as one thing then changes into another. They are talking about changing law to force companies/search engines to blacklist certain words. What happens if they don't? Say they ban looking at say rape videos (fake ones) what happens if a film has a scene in it that see's someone get raped? For this example let's choose The Evil Dead movie. Will this film then become 'blacklisted' because it has a scene in it like that? It will spread to other normal media's and is censorship.

But like I said how will that control stop kids looking at porn? After all your argument is that by doing this will stop them from looking at it. As The9 mentioned they did the same with p2p and torrents. But yet they can still get it if they want to. It does nothing to control what kids can or can't watch.

But they already have a choice now. You have pin on your tv. You have filter on your computer. If you think kids will not find a way around it then you under estimate them. If they want to look at porn they will find a way regardless of what Cameron says. There is a reason why films/music/everything considerd bad has a warning on it. This is censorship, nothing more.

Or why not just leave it as it is and let people decide themselves? So what happens to the art websites? What happens if a film has a rape scene will that then get banned? etc etc It opens a whole can of worms that do not need opening. There are far more important things to be focusing on then this.

Totally different. Young kids should not be able to watch those things. There is a way to prevent them doing so. It is called parenting? Your definition would be like saying alcohol is bad therefore you should ban alcohol. Smoking is bad so therefore you should ban smoking. Driving is dangerous therefore we should ban cars. As I said before it starts as one thing and will spread to something else. How long before it turns into which music you can listen to? Which other websites you can view? Sounds like the making of a regime to me.

Have to stand up against this kind of thing. It isn't about porn it is about a government deciding what you can and can't see. It starts with this and then before you know it it will spread to other things. These people need to remember they are there to represent us not control us. Cameron and co talk about protecting freedom but yet are determined to bring in things which limit your freedom. People need to stand up to them.
