  1. We signed Lambert after pre season and actually after the first game. He turned out alright? Van Persie joined utd a few days before the 1st game and he did OK? When you sign them has no baring on how well they will do. If you look for negatives you will find them. But this one is bull****.
  2. Quality player who had a decent first season. Who has the potential to be world class. Hope he stays. Will be one of those players we will regret losing I think. I am surprised Inter are the team going for him though as they are a team very much in a transition phase. Last year they were ****. They are in big time financial trouble due to the new Italian and Uefa rules. They also had to pretty much beg the Inter fans to come watch their games. Italian football sadly is in decline in regards to the league. The stadiums are almost empty. In an 80k stadium they averaged about 50%. Inter are a huge team but it is going to be sometime before they are the force they once were again.
  3. What did they expect? If someone goes to work for a company and then advertises another company at that work place then there will always be one outcome. Like someone on another forum said. It is like someone working at Tesco's taking in a Asda poster and sticking it up on the wall. Some might look at it and laugh, might say what banter! But the brass in charge will never be happy with anything like that. Lesson learned is prank your mates not a company.
  4. Yeah Banega is a pass master but more importantly one tough guy to get the ball off. He is awesome at dribbling and drawing in fouls in key areas. This video of him in just one game pretty much sums up his game If we get him I would be so shocked.
  5. Days ago Mauricio Pochettino, coach of the Southampton, had opened the doors to a possible arrival Ever Banega, confirming the interest in the Valencia midfielder. There has been a noticeable breakthrough, Banega is in the spotlight and new contacts are recorded. Cortese and Pochettino consider it a priority.
  6. I said what I said with a touch of humour....Has anyone ever filmed someone being fired?! As it is just a bit of fun I would do a set up where you call the guy into the office. Pretend the club are suing the company for vandalism or whatever. Then after the guy is in despair bring Beadle (a Beadle look a like) in dressed as a copper to take him away. Then when he is in the police van the driver can start singing WTFILN. The best part about having a laugh or doing pranks is it goes both ways. Get the guy back. But also check to make sure he has not stolen anything....
  7. Wow what a very very dumb builder. I would say I hoped the club would sue the **** out of him and the company but seeing as he is a skate he won't pay anyway. But I hope the club release a video of him being sacked or at the very least release his details to the public.
  8. started today....my wallet is not ready
  9. I didn't say that though. I said there was a history of our club holding to their guns (I mentioned the premier league agents table where we were last). So while there was no evidence to suggest his agent backed down there was a lot of evidence to suggest Cortese is one stubborn bastard who rarely backs down. Which is why I said it was more likely the agent backed down. That was the issue we were arguing.
  10. "I want to stress that the deal could have been done sooner, but this shows that we do business on our terms" Was wondering Turks if you still think I was wrong to say "the agent probably backed down"? I mean after all when someone else is wrong you like to make sure they and everyone else knows they were wrong. So will you hold your hands up and say you were "probably" wrong? But anyways welcome to the club Wagamama. Sure he will do a good job for us. Kinda feel bad for Cork as looks as though he will be the one to get squeezed out. Not sure where this leaves Davis either.
  11. Very amusing. For some reason I must of missed that one. I especially like the bit where the players agent says he was signed for next season. The way Turkish and co are going off on a "I'm right, I'm right, look at me, I'm right!" crusade I was expecting a load of comments from people saying how it was right. When in fact that thread does not seem like that at all. It seems exactly the same as every other thread. The usual guys arguing over something that is quite silly. And even then that argument isn't about next season it is about how much a final game of football will cost us.... But yeah it is very amusing.....
  12. Good luck to Chaplow. Always felt he gave his all when he played for us. Helped in our rise for sure. Will always remember the Utd cup goal he scored. As for Forren.....can't really say much as obviously never saw him play! Seems a very strange decision. Maybe he couldn't settle, maybe he didn't fit in with MPs plans. Who knows.
  13. Yeah that is what I remember Steve. It does all seem a bit odd. Maybe we have decided to bring in another CB and just try and get as much cash as possible back from Forren. I think I read Wagamama can play CB so another possibility is he could be used there as cover? Be interesting to see how this plans out because if we lose him then I think we definitely need another CB. Jos,Fonte and Yos all made mistakes last year and really only Yos looked like the one improving.
  14. Not yet no. But that was not the point. He asked if maybe the club backed down. I simply pointed out we don't really have a history of that do we?
  15. Like I said we have a history of being strict on agent fees. Is there any evidence to show we back down from peoples demands I.e transfer wise? I don't think that has ever happened. Far more likely the agent backed down. Maybe Lennon's criticism had an effect?
  16. Pretty safe to assume the agent has backed down after no other clubs came in for him. By not moving the agent get's feck all. So something will always be better then nothing. Looking at our agent fees in the past (lowest in the league) it would indicate a trend of not playing ball with agents. So again think it is pretty safe to assume the agent backed down here.
  17. Think people are being a bit harsh tbh. I think we should have one simply because the blue tits promised one before the last election. As others have mentioned these guys are here to represent us and our opinions. If they promise something like that and then go back on it then they should be held accountable for that. I think this is what ****es people off the most right now, all the groups are the same and when they offer something they won't actually go through with it. They will back-track using any excuse they can. I couldn't care less about the EU I just wish people in this country would start doing something when governments don't do what they say. What is going on in the middle east is shocking. But in a way we need to do something similar to remind these guys who they represent. They have zero fear of the people and going against them. They know they can bull**** on everything for five years then they will get kicked out. But in that time they get titles and remain on the gravy train until they die.
  18. To be fair he himself has not indicated he doesn't want to play here. It looks as though it is the agent fee (based on rumours) that is the problem. If it is true he wants £1m+ then he sounds like an agent that could cause problems in the future. For that reason alone I kind of hope we walk from this deal.
  19. There are obviously a lot of factors that can/will happen. But say we did get the players mentioned in OP that would make a team of ----------Boruc-------- Clyne---Lovren---Forren/Yos----Shaw -------------------------------------- ----------Morgan-Benega---------- Ramirez------------------------Lallana ------------Lambo------------ ---------------------Damaio--------- With Wagamama to come on when one of the TWO CM's get knackered and Jay Rod to replace either striker. IF that happens then a top 10 finish has to be the bare minimum. Anything below that would be bad considering the money spent. IF we did get those players in and a couple of decent subs i.e left back then I would think Europe (Europa league) would be attainable. Either by position in league or a cup win/final. Which in itself just goes to show how far we have come and how far we want to go. However IF we don't get those players and the squad remains as it is then you would have to expect another finish around 14th mark.
  20. It really does sound like the underpants gnomes scheme doesn't it? Phase 1.Take homeless peoples stuff Phase 2. ???? Phase 3. No more homeless people. The sad thing is it doesn't surprise me. Reminds me of this cartoon
  21. Almost time for the summer sale..... This is how my wallet feels! Greenmangaming have started their sale now too. New games every 6 hours.
  22. Only been here since the early 80s so Channon (first spell) was before my time. Same with Keegan really. Having watched Saints since 1984 I think my fav would have to be Le Tissier. I just don't see how I can vote anyone else. Sure there have been some good players but he did so much for us. It is a shame Lambo was not here earlier in his career because he could of been the one to come close to him imo. Since say 2003-2004 season he has been by far our best player and scored some massive goals for us. So I would say he is my second fav.
  23. They could of at least got the % right. It is a lot higher then 39%! But it is good to see the forum making it to the bigtime. Just needs the usual suspects to tell us how embarrassing we all are
  24. Probably the worst shirt we have had in the NC era. As generic as generic get's. It is a shame we are getting further away from our stripes but if I had a choice I would go for the sash style shirt. That was our best shirt for years imo. Looks as though NC is trying to copy the whole "red sells in asia" type thing.
