  1. We are miles away from a top 6 team. In terms of current players I think Morgan, Jay Rod, Shaw, Clyne and possibly Gaston are the only ones who could make that level needed. To get top 6 you need good players but more importantly consistency. You can't lose many home games. For us to jump so far next season we would require two proven CBs, two proven wingers, two playmakers and a new striker. That won't be cheap. That's why I think top 6 next season is unrealistic. We can improve the squad this summer with a new CB, a new centre midfield and a new striker. Those three could cost say £10m each. Then if we break the top 10 we can the following season add the final players needed. Next year I think our target has to be top 10 IF we invest this summer by a lot. If we don't then it will be another relegation scrap.
  2. I think next season we should say our predictions along with Lawro. I will for sure.
  3. I don't think I need to defend myself for what I have said at all. I have not said anything racist nor xenophobic. I never implied a whole race of people should be tarnished or blamed for the acts of the few. You will find most muslims/Christians/etc are decent people who wish no ill of anyone. They are decent people who offer something to the country. These people who do these acts of hate are not people who should be defended. I am sick to death of liberals trying to defend these kind of people who wish nothing but harm upon the people of this country. Like I said in my post these people are brainwashed into believing what they believe. They didn't just wake up one day and think "right time to kill someone". They were lead down that path by people who preach hate and encourage extremist views and behaviour. I for one will not defend those people. If there are people in this country who think it is right to kill innocent people and preach/encourage others to do it then they need to be dealt with. It does not matter if you are white/black/Asian/Christian/Muslim/Jewish. Teaching people to hate in that way is something that serves no purpose and has no place in this country. The people who teach these kids hate are protected by EU law so we can't do anything about it. Sticking your head in the sand and saying anyone who does not share your view is wrong and a racist is disgusting. That card is played too much when people know they can't win an argument. We live in a multi-cultural society, we all know people of different faiths. We can all differentiate between a radical group and a normal faith group. You don't see Christians be-heading people, Nor Jewish or Muslim. Only radical islamists who have been brainwashed. These people need to be routed out and dealt with. It is not racist to say there is a problem and it needs to be dealt with. Hiding behind the whole race card thing is done. People don't buy it anymore.
  4. But that is where the problem lies. These two were obviously brainwashed. The guy in the video had a strong London accent so he probably has never even been to "our lands". But the guy's teaching them this rubbish are the ones who need to be dealt with but we can't do anything about it. If we try and stop it EU law prevents us doing anything. You know things have to change when you can't remove terrorists or hate preachers from your own country. The sad thing about it is that the punishment that will be given to these two guys will be nowhere near as severe as it would be if they had done something like that in where "their lands" is. They will be fed, clothed, have tv etc. Would we get the same treatment in their country? (if they are not from Britain). If there is any justice they should be locked up in a military prison. They will get beaten up every day for the rest of their lives.
  5. Don't normally agree with Sour but I do 100% on this one. We don't know the reason behind this yet, don't know where they are from. But it is being reported they were shouting "God is great" in Arabic. Now that isn't me condemning Muslims or Arab's it is suggesting there is a clear difference in our cultures and faiths. Some and most likely these guys are people who have been brainwashed into thinking they need to kill British people. Thinking they have to do it because whoever is teaching them makes them think by doing so = Going to heaven. As Sour alludes to maybe it is time we as a Nation of people decided enough is enough with this kind of thing? If these people want to kill British people then go back to the middle east, pick up arms and attack soldiers who are armed and can defend themselves. Not attack random civilians on the street who have done nothing towards them. It is not racist not xenophobic to suggest people who move to this country, live in this country must drop old beliefs from their previous countries IF those beliefs are of hate towards people in that country. That is what I will never understand about these hate clerics and ****ed off Arabs in London. They hate us with so much passion but yet they are happy to live in the country they hate and use all the services in that country. That always strikes me as being slightly ****ed up no?
  6. Down on last season so guess got to be happy. Thought it would go up by a **** ton. However I do think something needs to be done about bringing the cost of football down in England, like what happened in Germany. Gates don't bring in the money like they used to. It is a drop in the ocean in comparison to the tv revenue. Makes far more sense to increase stadium sizes and drop match prices by a lot. Having a full big stadium with a good atmosphere makes a far better viewing experience again like in Germany. To put the cost into perspective say a new person wants a ticket and wants just a normal centre ticket that's £710. 19 games at 90mins = 1710 minutes of football. That is 42p per minute you are paying. When you look at it like that you can't help thinking what a rip off that is.
  7. I quite like the whole TV interactive idea. If it works as they say then that will be the death of remotes. Which is about time! Other then that was a bit men. E3 is where they will show the games. As a PC gamer the installs doesn't really bother me. Nor having it connected to the internet as I don't move it from where it lives. I doubt many do. But the thing that annoys me and is putting me off getting one is the fee to play 2nd hand games. If I buy a game and it is crap then I want to sell it to get a new one. That in my view is a bad call and one which I hope get's destroyed asap. But in truth neither MS or Sony really impressed me. Sony didn't even show a console and some of the games they did show were running on PC (watch dogs). It will all boil down to the price and games. Anything above £250 and they can forget it s they are both too similar to what we already have.
  8. In the immortal words of Arnie " Between your faith and my Glock 9mm, I'll take my Glock 9mm" I think as people get older they tend to want to believe in it more which is understandable. Apart of me always thinks "but what if". But I don't think there is any god not because it goes against science but because this god would have to be the biggest asshole going.
  9. For those who are interested Microsoft will have an event at 6pm to launch the new console. Ea are expected to show off their next gen games including fifa 14, so worth it just for that imo. Can watch it here http://www.xbox.com/en-GB/hub
  10. The next gen fifa will be shown at Microsoft's xbox reveal tomorrow. Really hope EA have learnt how to do crowds properly this time....
  11. What a great season. Beat the champions of England and Europe. If you said that would happen a few years ago I think most would of thought you should be locked up! We have proved a lot of people wrong this year and Lambo has proved chumps like Merson and Lawro who said he would struggle really do have no clue. The only dark spot on it for me was the way Adkins was removed. I doubt he could of taken us to the next level and am sure having MP in charge will turn out for the best. But still makes me angry the way he has been treated. Next season I still think aiming for Europe is a bit crazy but with some decent additions and a lot of players leaving who knows. My target would be to aim for around mid-table and be safe from the drop way before the last few fixtures. Best season for a long time. The Saints are back and anyone who wants to be negative really does need a reality check.
  12. It isn't so much about being liked it is more about making those decisions with a bit more respect towards whoever is on the receiving end. If they have been an awful employee then fine, but not towards those who have done well. They have earn't to be dealt with decently IMO.
  13. Would be a disaster if he left. Whatever your views on him he gets the job done and has taken us to the next level. He would be the best man to take us even further. However... I do think that he needs to either learn some people skills or not have the ability solely to make some decisions. The club needs to remember its past and treat those who have been here with a bit more respect. At the end of this I hope he stays and hope the family back him. But only with certain conditions I.e stop treating people like ****.
  14. He was pretty adamant he was going to sell it at some point. He believes that some rich person will buy them all out eventually. Which may be the case but I think it goes to show that a lot of these guys have probably not actually looked at the details in regards to their pledge. As you say I don't think they can sell them can they?
  15. At a conference today I got chatting to a Pompey fan who informed me that he bought a share and plans to sell it on for profit..... Wonder how many others of the "we own our club" club are thinking the same
  16. Not really sure that is the same thing is it? Barclays, Tesco, McLaren all have jack **** to do with me. They can run their companies how they wish as I have no interest in them, they don't reflect our city or fans. The club is very different. When Cortese makes a decision both good or bad it has an impact on how people see us, how they see the city. We are not in the news much so chances are when we are it is football related. Point being if you look at what peoples opinions of the club are a lot will be based around things that Cortese has done or more specific the way he has gone about things. Is it really so difficult to just do what every other club has done and sack their manager with a bit of dignity? Why do we have to act like spoilt brats when we do stuff like that? As for the other comment about being American, I actually have an American partner and spend a lot of time there so I guess that has an influence on me. What are all the cool kids saying now then?
  17. Well it was reported that he found out he was sacked on TV. That to me shows what kind of person Cortese is. I don't think treating people like that means you will be successful. I have worked in business a long time and know it can be a brutal place. But the way he was sacked/treated was low. As for contacting them I heard the only way to do that is by putting your letter in the fire place and it will magically reach them. It is the only way!
  18. Hard to say. However I do still think Cortese acted like a douche in the way he treated Adkins. For me it isn't/wasn't about if the guy coming in was better it was about treating a guy who got us promoted twice with some respect.
  19. Exactly. People are seeing it as if the club caved in when we don't have a clue. For all we know Frannie could of been advised he was going to lose and decided to come down from his values and do a more realistic deal. Based on the amounts he was asking for and the reported damage/repairs there was next to no chance he was going to get that amount.
  20. I have. "Sarcasm is a way of speaking in which what is said is the opposite of what is meant" But that would indicate that the opposite of what he said was true. Which would mean "His record is poor" turns into his record is good. Which is debatable (in England). " failure at Chelsea" would turn into success at Chelsea, which was not quite right was it? "struggling at Tottenham despite having the best player in the league" would mean he is doing great at Spurs which again would be debatable as again they are lower then they were. So is that really sarcasm or just another attempt at getting people to bite?
  21. I disagree. Pretty sure he meant it as in some regards it is true. They are lower then they were this time last year and have relied on one player just to keep them in the hunt for a CL spot. So you could say he isn't doing as well as twitchy did. But it highlights the point I was making which was that someone comes out and praises us and it turns into a negative thread. You may call that irony I call it trolling. And the second part, didn't we beat them at home and draw with them at their place? Maybe they have more style then us but ours meant we got more points against them with a seriously inferior team as we didn't have Mata, Hazard, Oscar, Lampard, Luiz etc. But hey maybe I am being OTT
  22. "And who is Andre Village Bogus to comment on what team we have? what has he achieved in the game? His record is poor, failure at Chelsea and now struggling its Tottenham despite having the best player in the league and an excellent squad already there. Disgusting comments from an arrogant, overrated manager whose methods are not suited to the English game" "Yeah we've got tons of style compared to that terrible Chelsea team with Mata, Hazard, Oscar, Lampard, Luiz etc" Sounds like some bashing there to me. Or was is just a laugh again?
  23. Soooo a manager praises us and implies we have a good future and some see this is as an excuse to bash him and our own team? Pretty much say's it all really.
  24. Don't think you can compare them that way imo. Better to do NA first 14 (In pl) rather then last as the fixtures were more similar. As Benito Benali pointed out MP had a far harder first 14 compared to Adkin's last 14. Adkins 1st 14 - pld 14 - won 3. Drew 3. Lost 8 = 12 pts MP 1st 14 - Pld 14 - Won 4. Drew 5. Lost 5 = 17 pts Personally I think that is a more fair way of doing it.
  25. Don't think many expected us to win today so those who are on the doom march need to calm down. It is still well within our hands. Looking at the run in of games I think Newcastle should be very worried. They have the worst GD amongst those of us who could go down. And they have a final game against Arsenal who will most probably need to win that to go into the CL. It will be out of Sunderland, Wigan and Newcastle. And I just got a feeling Newcastle will be the ones to go.
