  1. It's essential we have one striker with pace and at the moment I don't think we have one or at least one who's ready for 1st team action. Saga and Rasiak don't have any and I'm assuming Lambert's not going to be the quickest, great signing though he is.
  2. What an appalling and insulting post.
  3. When you think of all of those great and exciting strikers we've had over the past 50 years Stern John sure isn't one of them. Average at best and a journeyman.
  4. Murty's definitely worth a contract. We actually had 2 full backs out there today and what a difference it made. Not sure when that last happened. Don't think the Dutch revolution ever had any full backs!
  5. Watching Mills today I thought he'd progressed hugely in the last 12 months. Definitely one for the future as long as he's blooded in carefully. Thought Murty was excellent and Lallana obviously thrives off space and a bit of confidence. Rasiak was class when he came on but it was Mills who caught my eye if only because he seems to have come on so much. Don't understand the fuss about Holmes who is at best average.
  6. Agree with this. He's a journeyman and never done much as most other clubs seem to have discovered.
  7. Totally agree
  8. This is exactly what I was thinking. It's probably his agent doing it for him(if it's not him personally) in order to try to raise his appalling profile. I don't think anyone remotely ambitious would give him a second thought.
  9. Yes. Spot on. Danny Wallace was another. Trouble is Lowe's youth policy has thrust these kids to the fore far too quickly and expected far too much of them. Blood them in slowly and watch them develop has always been the way. You can usually tell if they've got something about them yet it could be a couple of seasons before it starts to really come to fruition. They have to be given a proper chance to mature.
  10. Good post. Given a decent manager Adam will flourish. A star in the making.
  11. These beers would be a great move. I've given up the half-time pint because the stuff on offer is so awful. Of course, the problem with real ale is that it's harder to keep but consumption would be potentially so large I doubt whether this would matter that much.
  12. In our New Manager poll 3.51% want him. That's about right IMO. Thanks but no thanks
  13. That's a great article
  14. Keegan or Coppell for me
  15. He'd be fantastic. Plays football worth watching and would sell season tickets by the thousand. How can you possibly compare him with Wotte.
  16. He's tactically inept and totally uninspiring. His football is extremely hard to watch and defensively we are appalling. He's not been any more loyal than the next man either. After all, if you were a Dutchman and had half a chance of staying with an English club or departing for the back end of Egypt (as he was originally going to) which would you choose. He's part of Lowe's failed Dutch experiment and has to go without delay-which I am sure is what Le Tiss would say and obviously had in mind.
  17. First post prompted by some of the ludicrous posts on here. So we're letting the best players go with a good riddance, are we? We have an awful manager who plays an inflexible diamond system which creates no space at all in which to play. We're left with the option of constantly whacking the ball upfield by-passing anyone in midfield who might be able to put their foot on it, find space and pass. No wonder the likes of Llallana want off. We're going to end up with a load of hoofers playing dreadfully dull football again if this manager stays. The only damper on this fantastic takeover in my view is his likely continued involvement in our first team and the effect it'll have upon our most skilful players, the quality of our football and, I believe, ticket sales. Sorry. Rant over!
