  1. Yep, I remember a VVD interview quite early on with him complaining about the style and that the players are struggling to adjust. Got a feeling we may have backed the wrong horse, getting rid of Puel and keeping VVD. Perhaps should have done the opposite.

    Les Reed

Who slots into Reed's place then?
  3. Very poor of the fans to boo Redmond. He's always been inconsistent and now seems to be lacking confidence when attacking, which he never used to. Pressure has made him worse.
  4. We 'virtually' drew with City if you discount the ET cheating. We drew with Arsenal. We thrashed Everton at heir worst. We are STILL the top of the "hit woodwork" league. Personally I wouldn't throw the towel in just yet. Retrospectively we should have sold VVD. Maybe the club caved to fan pressure. What is VVD achieving for us this season?
  5. 5 goals is an embarrassment. The worst part of today was how our defending seems to have declined. What's the point of keeping VVD to have him on the bench? Over recent years we've had a defence to be proud of. What's happened? Nice to get two goals from open play. Something at least.
  6. Better from Saints
  7. I wonder if we should look to give Kane less space in our box.

  9. Yet again, we win nothing in the air
  10. Boufal somehow nearly gets one back
  11. Hoedt is very composed again
  12. Dele Ali is a little runty bastard
  13. Actually hoping this might be the game Boufal goes nuts and gets a couple.
  14. Come on Yoshi, get us a goal !!!

    Gary Monk

His name is Monk ffs. Destined for Sainthood.
  16. Thought Hoedt was very good.
  17. With Austin out we are in trouble.
  18. First half we seemed clueless, no cohesion, no plan. Scored against the run of play and we saw the half out. Second half was better, after conceding we seemed to put in the extra effort to win and nearly managed it. Should have won. Tadic, apart from closing the keeper down did very little except fall over. Boufal was a big improvement - I don't think anyone on the pitch knows what he's going to do which makes it tricky for opponents and teammates but he creates a lot. Austin was good despite his lack of speed and should have scored again once Redmond put him through - was interesting that chance as I'm sure the defender thought Redmond was going to check to take it on his right foot, which he normally does, very predictably, but this time didn't and created a good chance for himself/Austin. Redmond needs too many chances though and is often frustrating to watch. Thought Hoedt was MOTM, didn't put a foot wrong that I could see and wastes very little. Very tidy, excellent CB. Saying that I was too far away to see who was at fault for Huddersfield's goal. Yoshi made a couple of errors but was otherwise pretty solid, and nearly scored again. As usual JWP is ok defensively but creates little to nothing going forward.
  19. I've lost faith in the belief that a new manager will suddenly get us playing together better and scoring more. I say stick with what we have and build slowly. Although if we lose to Huddersfield tomorrow I reserve the right to come on here and say the exact opposite.
  20. This one. We were ok against City and Arsenal. A lot of draws have kept the points down but I think we will end the season safe by a good margin. Longer term is another discussion.
  21. A decent chow mein in the concourse wouldn't go a miss.
  22. At least we didn't equalise and have to put up with the 11 minutes injury time waiting for the Chelsea winner.
  23. He has been very average today.
  24. Chelsea's CBs should have brought a pair of deckchairs.
