  1. For me. I want a beer at 9.00am. Remember its a Sunday, so not all pubs will be open 9.00am. But Silverspoons (Silver Spoons, The Silver Spoons whatever its called) will be serving me beer from 9.am. note it has a number of bars and plenty of bar staff, so it will be far easier to get served, than the Green Man or The Torch. I also normally drink away from grounds before a match, but as its Wembley, so what! Its next to the Stadium, its open at 9.00, and there will be one huge party in there. Its a special day, I am just going to enjoy myself with loads of other Red N Whites If you dont like it, thats your beef, but don't put others off!.... good luck in searching for a 9.am boozer. maybe a Wetherspoons (Wether Spoons, The Wetherspoons or whatever its called!). whatever you do have a brilliant day.
  2. If he disallows the goal, then he should pull it back for the earlier offense and award a penalty. After the Fonte Man-Handling, The ref quite rightly allowed the 4 second play-on rule. We scored, so the earlier foul on Fonte should not have been an issue, but if we had missed, he should have pulled it back for a Penalty. He obviously did not think that throwing someone to the ground via a hand around the throat & neck is a foul!!!! geez!
  3. Well that to me is the solution,!! Especially when Nicola Cortese on Radio Solent last night, offered the FL to bring our own security and pay for SFC stewards to police the 'extra empty' section... As I said before, how many seats do they need to separate Saints and Carlise??? At the Skates game we had a bit of netting to keep the two hated rivals apart. At Wembley for a 'party' they need 9,000 seats to separate the two waring armies of Saints and Carlise.... Are the people that run the FL and Wembley total inept knobs or what??? Give this project to any Saint or Carlise fan, and they would have had it sorted in 10 mins ...and a full Wembley!!! ps fair play to NI, who has got off his ar5e...to try and do something about it?
  4. Hi If going to Watford, I would also consider the Train. its under 30 mins to Wembley Central. From the main 'Watford Junction Station', get the Train to Harrow and Wealdstone, then change for the Wembley Central train. You should also be able to take advantage of the GROUP SAVE DEALS too. 4 of you travel together and get 2 Free (there is also a 3 for 2, as well). You just have to go through the Barriers there and back as a group. I am pretty sure the deal is on for Sundays as well. If Watford is an issue, try Milton Keynes to Harrow & Wealdstone, or the Station we will use... Hemel Hempstead. All on the same line as Watford. We will be getting the 8.15 from Hemel to H&W, then the 8.37 to Wembley Central arriving 8.45....Getting into Silverspoons for opening time!!! Cost with 'Group Save 4' is £14.80 for all 4 tickets. Have a great day out. Hemel Saint
  5. Well I have had a reply from the FL... see below. segregation is their main reason. How many seats do they want to segregate Saints and Carlisle??? Geez for the heated south Coast derby we had a bit of netting... not 9,000 seats!!! look what happened when Luton were not allowed more tickets and they tried to segregate Luton and Scunny fans... here is the FL response... >>> Dear Mr XXXX, Many thanks for your email. We are delighted that Southampton will be taking the largest following that any club has ever taken to the new Wembley Stadium for a Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Final. The safety of spectators is of paramount importance to The Football League, Wembley Stadium, the Metropolitan Police and the local safety authorities. With this in mind, all Wembley Finals require the implementation of a segregation plan, which is based on the ticket allocations requested by both clubs. These plans were presented and agreed by the finalist clubs seven weeks before the match. The plans ensure that as many fans as possible from each of the participating clubs will have the opportunity to purchase a ticket and to enjoy the match in a safe environment. For this particular match the actual saleable capacity of Wembley Stadium is approximately 81,000 after taking into account unavailable seats such as media seats the Royal Box and segregation. The Football League have been allocated approximately 72,000 of these tickets which, once contractual obligations have been honoured, have been passed directly on to the two participating clubs (approx 44,500 to Southampton and 24,500 to Carlisle). The 9,000 remaining tickets are Wembley Stadium tickets available to Club Wembley members and box holders. At this present time Southampton have sold out of their allocation and Carlisle United have sold approximately 20,000 tickets. In this particular instance, the unsold tickets are in areas of the ground that are located directly above Carlisle United fans and cannot, therefore, be sold to Southampton supporters for reasons of crowd safety. We can understand your frustrations in that some supporters are unable to purchase tickets but would like to assure you that every effort has been taken by all parties to maximise the number of tickets available to each club. 6. COLSLAW are booked into SILVERSPOONS. Opens at 9.00 am as well. Remember its a Sunday and not many pubs open early, especially at 9!!! Our group have bought over 20 tickets so far, and expect the rest of our lot to join us... as long as its not sold out by then. Just seems hassle-free, they openly encourage a sing-song, so should be able to extend our repertoire (so that will be lots of OWTSGMI then!!!):yawinkle: All we need to do now is find a fry-up somewhere en-route around 7-7.30am. Should be a good session. Se you there some more details on... http://www.coyr.co.uk/ Hemel Saint COLSLAW
  7. Luton Town in the cup.... and they were pretty loud to be fair.

  9. We are staying in Waterloo just up the road in North Liverpool towards the coast. A few stops on the Mersey Rail... Happy to come and meet up Saturday Morning for Early drinks, food and Saints chat...
  10. DSM 4 of us staying up on The Friday and Saturday night in Liverpool. Also happy to meet up for pre-match, post-match beers on the Saturday. Not sure on our B&B address yet, but its 5miles outside Liverpool City Centre. Will find out from my mate in next couple of days.
  11. Cheers for the info. Mate is suggesting B&Bs approx 5 miles outside City Centre and getting cabs into town for a few bevvies. cheaper on the Car Parking too! yep, will take Birkenhead off the list...
  12. A few COLSLAWS are also staying up on Friday and Saturday night too. Nowhere booked yet. Thinking of staying in Liverpool... Any suggestions on best place to stay, or any suggestions where to avoid!!!
  13. Well even the Skates thought we were loud... >>>I was there yesterday, and must give those scummers some credit, they were very vocal and loud. however made a schoolboy error.... whenever we sang a song, they would chime in with their own version of the same song. Thus making it sound like us singing all along. I agree that when loosing at 3-1 they started walking out,...loosers which lead us to my favourite chant of the day. "Is there a fire drill, is there a fire drill"...quality. http://thepompeychimes.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=55390 Mind you another knob wrote this.... >> Geeez! the skates were so quiet because they got drowned out by been outsung by SAINTS from the left and right of them. I have got to say till they scored their 3rd, that was the quietest away support for 4,000 seen down at SMS. We rocked the place on Saturday. Well done everyone! Itchen North. Welcome back!
  14. Hi Kev Yep, there is a Saints group in Hertfordshire. The group is affectionately known as COLSLAW (Committee Of Loyal Saints Living Around Watford). We have Saints fans spread from Reading up to Northampton, but most are congregated around Watford, Hemel, St Albans, Luton area etc. We have a mixture of Season Ticket holders and ordinary members, and would welcome a new face. Like you, we also attend most away games, taking anything from 2 (to Carlisle) and around 20 for more Local games. We have our own E-mail Forum where we discuss all things Saints but mainly organise tickets, travel etc. Be good to have another new member on board. If interested, get in touch on Hemel.Saint@talktalk.net COYR Hemel Saint
  15. well, reading one of your message boards, some of your fans are supprised that more allocation is not given to away teams, if required, to help bring in extra needed revenue to the club. maybe that is a reason? I think you will find quite a few Saints will be in the home stands, that will always happens when big away support can not be accommodated. Looking forward to a good away-trip. Ps. any decent real-ale pubs near the ground?
  16. We drank in a Place called Fenny Stratford. half-Dozen pubs and a 20min walk to the Stadium. Put "Fenny Straford Pubs" into Google maps and there you go...
  17. No Nominations yet for Colchester. So will give a mention for the.... The Half Butt Inn Nayland Road, Great Horkesley Mix of home and a handful of Saints. A couple of decent ales, and a 20 min walk to the stadium. Mind you the walk took you over a couple of farmers fields through a backgarden and over a couple of stiles. 7/10
  18. Sorry mate thats wrong. We always sang it at a slow tempo. If you can find it on You Tube, take a look at the Saints v Palace semi-final in 76 when Barry Davies (Commentator) mentioned how impressive the song was. This was said as the camera panned across the whole of the Shed End at Chelsea with every Hampshire voice belting out a spine-tingling rendition.... slowly!! We sped up our own song and Spurs just reverted to singing it at the pace it should be sung!
  19. ] My understanding is that all unsold tickets at Saints on Xmas Eve, were sent back to Colchester to Sell on the day. However you have to buy at the away ticket office, to get an actual ticket, there is no cash payment at the Turnstile. However it would be worth phoning CUFC to confirm this...
  20. Oh yes. Remember that night, One of the best away-days. Apparently we took 281!!! Flew up from Stansted for a Fiver, and stayed at the Premier Inn. One of the coldest ever nights, if I remember. We started a chant of "Sack the Board" for a laugh... and the whole ground joined in!!
  21. Another recommendation for best away pub... Walsall - Black Country Inn. Quality boozer. 14x real Ales at around £2.30 a pint. Hot meals around £3-4. We were planning to do a pub-crawl around Walsall, but ended up staying there till the Match. The landlord said he was shocked to see some many away fans find the pub and commented on what a great bunch we were. Two quality pubs on two weekends (Northampton - Victoria last weekend). happy dayz.
  22. Northampton away. The Victoria, Pool Street. Best Pub so far! 7 Real Ales, plus a wonderful pint of "Gravitas" served straight from the Barrel on the bar counter. A cooked Breakfast too. around 40 Saints fans managed to find our way to it. Mostly regional Saints supporters groups. COLSLAW, Northern Saints, Bath Saints... Top pub! just wish it was just round the corner from my home!!!!
  23. My 1st away Game was Oxford. it was an eye-opener. A larger than expected Saints support turned up, that they closed the turnstile at the away end well before kick-off! We had to get into the Stand to the left and blag our way across to the Saints fans. I only made it to the top of the steps into the Saints section, as it was absolutely rammed. The home and away support were packed into a low-roof terrace with just a net hanging between the two sets. Cant remember the score or date, but the one memory that keeps on coming back is seeing a policemans Helmet being tossed backwards over the heads of the saints fans from the front to the back. In that low roof the sound was deafening. At that age I was bowled-over and thought if this is what away games are all about, then I wanted more of it... what a way to be introduced to away-games.
  24. Hi Bungle I have dropped you an e-mail regarding our Pub at Northampton...
